Sam Allardyce’s philosophy suits NRL to a tee. It’s all about basics. The Opponent scores points off your errors rather than creating their own brilliant opportunities. When you are in the kill zone, convert more opportunities than you bugger up. They don’t need Bennett- just put that on the dressing room wall. And Big Sam wouldn’t have been drinking a pint of wine when entrapped by the Daily Telegraph reporters, it would have been a Mega Pint.

Yeah well Red Rob here amongst us called it at the very start of the Live Blog, and I jumped onto his shoulders to agree with his call that Newie would get up. There is Zero point in whining about bunker calls; ref calls; touchie calls; or cheerleader calls. But to be fair, nobody whines about cheerleaders. The point about the game is have you dominated it or are you looking for the fluke call? Do the right thing. Be a man. Fair win to the Knights. Warriors need to smarten up and play like professionals, rather than a team of talented individuals.

For injuries or rep duties I think fair enough, but they are different to intentionally handicapping a team.

The Haumole and DCE tackle on Lane was technically a legit tackle. I felt the shock wave from H’s hit up where I was sitting. But as Lane fell, it looked horrible. What do you do with that? It could have had a terrible outcome. Thankfully it didn’t. Haumole hit him in the mid section, and DCE – has that guy ever showed malice ? I hear ( but not confirmed) that both are facing 2 weeks if they plead guilty. Give me a break.
In my humble opinion Parra had everything turning to win last night. But they choked.
Manly, sadly, is not playing anything like a top 4 team. The first thing they need to do is stop the Opponent from scoring. Look at how many points Manly has let in this year- you’ll be shocked. Just lazy and uncommitted. There were problems with their left edge all night. Manly are now at the crossroads, as is Siebold in my view. Either Manly turn into a completely new and mongrel side over the next week, or bring in a new management and start again. There’s not much you can do with the roster. The annoying thing is that there is real talent on the field. It sucks to be a Manly fan.

I was only looking at Teddy’s stats last week. Still good. Now Teddy vs Edwards, and who would I want at the back behind me ? Is Teddy better than Edwards, and who might be there in three years time ? Teddy won’t be there, Edwards might be barring injury. Edwards is outstanding. Teddy has had an outstanding career. Teddy is three years older. As you know, age is cruel to all athletes ( except down at the Avalon Bowling Club). It is a hard call, Teddy still has a game. If you think Edwards could be picked for games 2 and or 3, then I’d pick him for 1.

Yeah, give the Wahs a point. Keep their spirits up. Very intriguing game. Both sides showed they have a lot in the tank. Particularly the Warriors who have the mark of Greatness on them this year.
