I hate that David Warner didn’t get all of his hit on Joe Root, he can’t even middle his punches!
I hate the way England play Test cricket
Benji was a fantastic player. The rhetoric that the game will be at a loss because of him just leaves a bad taste in mouth. He hasn’t been one of the big draws of the game for about 3 years now.
Benji Marshall heroics return to Leichhardt
I think England could give Aus a real shake this Cup.
That’s exactly what the game needs imo. NZ have beaten Aus in some big tournaments fairly recently (05, 08, 10) but a loss to the English will really bruise Aussie pride and bring that rivalry back to the fore.
Origin over: time for rugby league's true pinnacle
Looks like we’ve both had the WC on the mind Andrew 😉
I think New Zealand will have a very strong squad on paper, but like you said, their record in England leaves a lot to be desired.
Rugby League World Cup preview
Looks extremely promising. It’s a shame half the rugby league world doesn’t know about it yet.
Origin over: time for rugby league's true pinnacle
I hope the RLWC gets the same good marketing and promotion. A World Cup is the easiest kind of tournament to sell and it’s still stuck in the shadows.
Origin over: time for rugby league's true pinnacle
Hopefully Channel 7 treat rugby league with a bit less disdain than Channel 9 usually do.
Origin over: time for rugby league's true pinnacle
Yep, I was going to mention Canada. They didn’t feature in the qualifiers so it would have been interesting for the USA if they had.
Origin over: time for rugby league's true pinnacle
Good piece, the incredible highs and lows were definitely mutual.
Extraordinary match, cannot wait for tonight.
Why Test cricket is the best, and worst, game
FNBG seemed to be quite agile for a big man.
Parramatta could do worse than sign him up.
Mitchell Pearce vs fat, naked bald guy
That was Ryan Hoffman, not Bird.
Four observations from the 2013 State of Origin series
Cameron Smith will be the hardest to replace, but he also seems the most durable of the lot.
State of Origin 2013: Under hail of penalties, Queensland best with backs to the wall
Hopefully Harris takes this opportunity and manages to stay fit for the third test.
ASHES: Cowan, Starc dropped - Usman Khawaja, Ryan Harris in
The loss of Gallen will galvanise the team (pardon the pun) in my books.
Cronulla seem to have a better record without him, and that isn’t a slight on Gal, but I think every forward knows they need to aim up when he is absent and more often than not that helps drive them to a strong performance.
Robbie Farah will cherish the leadership role and take control of the game, which is better than having a forward controlling the game.
So there is a silver lining to every loss. Hopefully this means Fifita will get a lot of game time, he’s shown he can be not only devastating but devastating for a long period.
But Queensland have done it so many times before who knows what will happen.
Why Maroons will make it eight in a row
Some pretty ordinary timing, two days out from the second test. Cheers Mickey.
Clarke vs Watson: Arthur's explosive faction claims
All good signings. Gill especially looks like he has a big future.
Key trio re-sign for Queensland Reds
Ben Kennedy and Greg Bird are unlucky to miss out, otherwise I really like the side. A couple of guys I never saw play so hard to comment on them though.
The all-time greatest NSW State of Origin team
No Langer is a huge call. I’d have to find room for him in there somewhere.
All-time greatest Queensland State of Origin team
It’s still very disappointg that ADP, Heskey and co. won’t be lining up for the side. Man U will be upset about their recent loss, this could get ugly.
Ange's All-Stars to show the A-League's best face
Spot on Phil. Carney is the best half in NSW.
State of Origin 3 preview: one key question for each team
It’s a shame to see him go, but really, can the Tigers afford to lose Brooks, Moses or Sironen? It would be good if Benji was willing to play for another NRL club, but it’s his decision. Thanks for the memories Benj.
Will Benji's departure hurt the Tigers?
Not aiming for perfect, aiming for ‘better’, which the video referee hand holding is preventing.
