Looks to me like Adelaide/SA has been screwed in the scheduling this season.
Test match starting on December 6th – not exactly peak holiday season.
Day night test replaced by a traditional day test match.
From what I can see, the only other men’s international is a ODI on a Tuesday.

Just when we thought that Australian cricket couldn’t sink any further,

Australia vs India first Test start time: Date, venue, squads, key information

I was never a huge fan of Nathan Lyon.
To prove a point a couple of years ago, I put together a comparison of Garry with other ‘great’ spinners of his kind that I had seen play: Underwood, Bedi, Gibbs.
To my surprise, Garry was as good or better in terms of test average, economy rate and strike rate.
I’ve since managed to digest that humble pie.

Where does Nathan Lyon rank among the pantheon of Australian spinners?

correction: S.March can bat poorly anywhere in the top 6.

Who could come into the Australian Test team?

“The condition of the ball wasn’t altered according to the umpires”

Seriously?
By that logic, attempted murder is OK if you don’t actually kill someone.

Time for Cricket Australia to end the Smith, Warner and Bancroft bans

You speak of subsequent results and potential ratings disasters.
Neither of which have anything to do with anything.
The facts are:
1. They conspired to cheat and carried it out (not just one player, like most other cases).
2. When caught, Bancroft lied to the on-field umpires about the contents of his pockets. He and Smith conspired to lie about ‘sticky tape’ to millions in the press conference.
3. Warner was happy to say nothing and let the others cop the heat when he was the ring leader.

By Australian standards of integrity and honesty, they got off lightly.

disclaimer: I’m a tigers supporter.

Am I on my own in thinking that Thurston must be carrying an injury?
Almost every tackle he attempted last night was around the shoulders or higher, and he seemed reluctant to put his shoulder into his defensive work.
He also doesn’t seem to be covering as much ground laterally as he usually would.
Champions don’t forget how to play, and Thurston has always been a competitor.
It’s the only explanation I can think of.
Hopefully, the Cowboys can turn things around. I still want to watch them do well.

Cowboys face axe after falling to Tigers

Anybody read the ‘report’ on this game in today’s Sunday Telegraph?
There is not one reference to a tigers player, and the only mention of the team was something like ‘The tigers were brave.’

I have no idea who Gilbert Gardiner (the alleged journalist) is, but it smells like an article that was pre-written and had to be quickly edited after the fact. Probably some AFL numpty from Melbourne.
