yeah wouldn’t that be nice to see. They would all have to completely change their current way of acting and I’m not sure they’re capable of it.

The Wrap: Rebels young gun rockets out of Wallabies contention, and why Samipeni Finau's 'brutal' hit on Edmed was fair game

I remember years ago having a coaching lesson with Lyndon Brey and we brought this up. His view was that there was so much that needed to be looked at he felt the ball going in wasn’t his highest p[riority because it meant that the team that won the scrum probably won the ball back. He also said the odd time a team lost a ball on their put in meant that it was about ok. TBH I see where he’s coming from in this.

So, you’re going to put Suaaili into the Wallabies before he demonstrates that he’s good enough to play at Super level. Not sure that’s a sound plan and so many times in the past it’s proven to be a disaster I’m not sure why you’d still want to do it.

Absolutely it is, but he hit below the shoulder, so it doesn’t matter. I get that there’s debate because he does play to the very line of what is legal and if he gets it wrong then he’s going to suffer the consequences of that. However, as long as he gets it correct then he’s entitled to make tackles like that as much as he wants.

Some valid points. Mind you the Rebels, Force and Brumbies need to be better at identifying young talent and then offering them a deal.

Thanks Geoff, a great weekend of rugby and I like that it is some newer players coming through in Australia that are taking their teams forward. For me the big issue for the Australian teams is consistency, not the consistency of continuing to select players like Vunivalu who would struggle to look good in club rugby, but consistency in their play. All of the teams are playing some fantastic rugby at times, but they seem to lack the ability to do it consistently and that’s killing them.

No different to so many other tackles where the arm is out ready to wrap if needed. It’s a clear legal tackle that was timed to perfection. Yes it was on the edge but nothing to say it can’t be. The Tahs didn’t lose the game because of this tackle and people should be looking at the crap play from Gordon, Edmund and others rather than trying to justify the loss because of a good tackle

'Purely coincidental': Chiefs coach defends bruiser after ANOTHER late shot leaves Tah flattened - but was it legal?

Timing is everything. On the margins sure but nothing I’d penalise in a game I’m refereeing.

It’ll be hard with both teams missing some key players but a good way to get the depth going. Both teams should still make the Paris cut-off ok, women already there, and testing the depth for the big one isn’t a bad thing

Sorry written poorly. I actually agree with you and just think saying someone was MOTM against the worst performing team isn’t really a big deal. Someone who’s MOTM against the top team means more to me

Some great points here. Although I do find the blowing smoke over the Tahs crap season a bit of a low point compared to the rest of the article. I agree with your read on Cale. For me he’s been the find of the season, especially after Henry was injured at the Reds, and it’ll be interesting to see how he develops over the next few years. The results this year have been surprising and for me the injuries and depth are starting to show their hand. This is a huge issue for the Reds and I think as the season goes on it may affect other teams more as well.

And it was against the team who is last in the competition. Hardly a big call

I agree. I’m not sure it’ll affect the Wallabies much but the Tahs will be worse without him. Spending money on Mungo losers has never worked and Suaalii will just be another flashy wannabe with more bad side than good. RA are just so stupid in their management of the game here

Hanigan is playing well but I think there are still better players than him so not sure he’d be missed by the Wallabies that much. Tahs yes, but Wallabies no. He should go and get his future secure

he’s read it 10 times because the issues that it raises have remained. RA are so myopic and and full of nepotism that it’s no wonder nothing changes

'Easy to throw stones': RA chairman hits back at mudslingers' 'hypocrisy' after calls for AGM board cleanout

agree 100%. The only thing that has gone professional in Australian rugby is paying players. The governance, management and development has remained an amateur organisation that is foundering because of the myopic nepotism that runs it. How in the hell things are meant to get better with the same people doing the same thing is just beyond understanding

Still waiting for a list of all these players that “need” to come from overseas to make the Wallabies world beaters. Personally, I can’t think of one who is such a fantastic player with such skills and knowledge that is missing from players here that we “need” to bring them in and if we don’t the Wallabies will crumble.

Hahahahahaha every team playing Australia will hope Schmidt picks Beale. He’s demonstrated so many times in the past that he’s not up to international level. Drops passes, misses tackles, runs sideways taking up everyone else’s space, cant pass accurately, can’t kick accurately and doesn’t distribute. What a joke

Not really surprised another selection decision by Jones has proven to be crap and probably good for Paisami that he wasn’t part of that rock show. Unlucky for Petaia and I hope he comes right soon. Highlanders were terrible. Not sure what the coach is doing but it isn’t working
