I didn’t really read the article because it looked like a big ad for CGU. But now I know CGU are all about “continuity and loyalty” and not about profits then I’ll go and change all my insurance policies over..,

It’s been refreshing this year to not have Eddie McGuire’s face in the media this year (certainly he has been completely absent here in Sydney)

Loyalty and continuity have propelled Collingwood back into the premiership discussion

Gil needs to come up with other ways to raise revenue, not just increase # of goals (because goals equal tv ads). His pursuit of the dollar will slowly strangle the golden goose.

I don’t know how others feel, but ever since the first session in the first test I’ve felt that the little things were going the Aussies way. From the ball bouncing off the batsmen foot straight to short leg or the missed review off Maxi’s glove there’s been some pieces of good fortune that have helped the Aussies along.

Smith and Maxwell have Aussies in control at 4-299 in Ranchi

I am so excited by Maxwell getting a big score. I’d love for him to hold down the number 6 spot. Having the spot nailed down is the difference between good teams and great teams who can take a match from any position

Gazza is a ripper. How he comes steaming in and worries the opposition out of possession. And what about Buddy’s second effort and ground speed. He reads the play with lethal precision

Five talking points from Geelong Cats vs Sydney Swans AFL preliminary final

Oh dear. What a blinkered comment.

Geelong vs Sydney: Finals Forecast

Agree Don. Buddy also broke Freos hearts in the ’13 grand final by unselfishly playing down the ground to the break the intense forward line trap that the Dockers were using to great effect.

There are higher reels of Buddy being the difference that would fill a truck

Geelong vs Sydney: Finals Forecast

After watching the Geelong Hawks qualifying final I came away feeling neither of them where playing well enough to win the flag. The lack of streaming runners and the space both teams gave one another is contrasted to the constant barrage of players tackling and running past that GWS and Dogs do so well. Going to be an interesting game tonight.

My heart says Dogs but my head says Giants. They run and they are big. Given both sides will keep running the whole game it will be the Giants physicality that will give them the edge. Big home ground advantage too…the Dogs won’t be used to the outdoor showers and having to warm up with kick to kick in the car park at Spotless.

Highlights: Swans belt Cats to make AFL grand final

Enright’s tears told me that this was good-bye. As he avoided my eyes I knew that this was the end.

Zac Jones had a blinder and will be unlucky to miss out on GF.

The composition of the Swans back line will depend a lot on who we are playing next week.

A lot of tipsters said that Geelong to get up because they’d be fresh. I reckon the soft 6 weeks leading into the finals freshened the Swans and then they got a kick up the bum by GWS and their intensity has been at the right level since.

Swans absorbed a lot of Geelong pressure. Over 60% of time spent in Geelongs forward line yet they lost by nearly 40 points. Motlop had a shocker, Hawkins was held well. Menzel injured. No other scoring options…where’s Harry Taylor…

The Swans small forwards stood up again. Pampley, Mcglyn, Parker (let’s call him a forward).

Dangerfield will be a far better player when he learns how to kick to his team’s advantage. Too many mongrel punts and blind bombs for Swans backline to pick off.

Yeah, I thought it was a joke he being named AA captain too…

Geelong Cats vs Sydney Swans: AFL preliminary final preview and prediction

Swans have had a cruise 6 weeks leading into the finals plus some great list management through the year. The GWS and the Crows games are ideal prep for a run at the flag.

The Swans small forwards fired against the Crows. If they get going again then Swans to romp it in

Geelong Cats vs Sydney Swans: AFL preliminary final preview and prediction

Roger, I like your confidence re Swans. If our small forwards can fire again this week then we should get over the line.

I reckon GWS will have too much run in their legs for the Bulldogs, which will take away the big advantage they had over Hawks.

AFL premiership rankings: Dogs well coached, but can they bring down the Giants?

Swans should out pressure Geelong. Kennedy won’t get as much of the footy because of the big Cat bodies. Swans small forwards really lifted against Crows. Can’t seem them getting as much footy again. Swans by 12 points.

I think Bullies will succumb to THe Giant Grubs. Hawks ran out of legs but The Grubs keep running all day

Five talking points from Sydney Swans vs Adelaide Crows AFL semi-final

Just watch on Saturday

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Semi-finals

Swans have had the kick up the bum they needed after 6 weeks of cruising into the finals. They will smash the over rated Crows.

I think the Dogs game style matches up well with Hawthorn and if they can sustain pressure throughout the game they’ll get the chocolates.

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Finals week one

I thi k the wet will change the nature of the game but not necessarily in Hawks favour. It’s instinctual for a lot of Melbourne players….Selwood(s) are mud larks. Hawkins big body in the clinch. Depends how wet but I’d fancy Cats to slug it out in super wet conditions

Geelong Cats vs Hawthorn Hawks: AFL qualifying final preview and prediction

I look forward to the day Hawks don’t have automatic home ground advantage during grand finals

Thrilling to a season of even magnificence

Bogut still out but Green coming back in. Cavs are finding their form. It’s shaping up as a classic series

Reflecting on Game 5 and looking forward in the NBA Finals

There are pockets of bogans that will never look beyond RL. I say we should dig a big hole, put everything associated with RL into it, cover it up and write it off as a bad mistake.

Why Aussie rules will never win the fight for western Sydney

Am looking forward to hard fought final. Going into it, I’d have to say Cavs should be favourites…given their form…but it might be that Curry is finding form at the right time to bring it large!

I need to figure out how I can get off work to watch it

Curry and Thompson get hot to book Warriors NBA finals date with Cavaliers

I was at the game on Friday in the Ponsford Stand – behind the goals Buddy was kicking to. After the pressure Hawks were applying and having that dreaded feeling that we were going to lose it because Hawks always come back (this is what’s playing in my head!), to see Buddy spin and turn out of the centre and watch the ball fly straight towards the unguarded goals…the elation was up there with my favorite moments in sports.

I’ve actually come back this morning from a function at the SCG and watched the players train for a while. As I was leaving (about an hour after everyone else on the track) Tom Mitchell turns up. He didn’t look injured?

Return on investment: Franklin makes Swans flag favourites
