How do you know which overseas players are actually performing well enough to be be selected? We do not want to fall back to subjective selection

A player dominating in Japan Div 2? Is Dempsey actually a better player now? Scotland is not really a tier 1 team. Quade was good. Marika as well but he’s not getting younger.

Overseas players first loyalty is to their employers so availability will be an issue.
Skelton has never been a dominant player at test level. Maybe the game is too fast for him. Him being Captain was hard to support.

I know football selects from all over but the Roos are barely competitive in the Asian group and hardly a role model for success.
The Matilda’s came 4th in a home World Cup and were lauded. That would be judged a failure for the Wallabies.

Scrap the Giteau Law: Rugby Australia should look to Rassie's 'Boks RWC recipe if it wants to re-join the big boys' table

Someone must kick and at 80% plus. It really should be someone who kicks for their Super Team. Who has proven they can kick under pressure to win games.

If Carter is not kicking then he can’t be paired with McDermott. It has to be Lonergan.

Carter does look really good this year but ironically it’s playing in a minimal pressure environment because the Rebels are not expected to win or even exist next year. Under pressure in test matches he did not look so self assured. Mind you Dan Carter would have struggled under Jones’ hare brained coaxing set up.

We shall see against Wales.

The Wrap: Crusaders' shot clock fiasco and shhh, don’t put the moz on Darby

Melbourne has looked good in the last three weeks but let’s not have half the team in the Wallabies squad just yet. They’ve beaten 3 of the poorest performing sides in the competition.

'Kid wonder': Lancaster, Gordon shine as Rebels take one giant step in locking in maiden Super Rugby finals berth

I’m confident that any one of the current super 10s would look pretty good playing club rugby.

What Joe Schmidt told Kurtley Beale about his Wallabies future

It would be great if they can pull it off . Take the team to the community with the strongest history in Rugby. A packed stadium of 5000 close to the sideline would be an intimidating place to play.

PE backed consortium 'in final stages' to save Melbourne Rebels with $30m injection and link with A-League club

Friend was not a disaster at the Brumbies. There was a bunch of Wallabies, some past their best, who resented being told what to do by a bloke who wasn’t and international Rugby player. Friend wanted more emphasis on skills and some of the Brumby Wallabies to offence at that. Them being champions and all.

Player power forced him out. Some of those illustrious Wallabies didn’t get their jerseys dirty for the rest of a woeful season.

Gitts admitted as much later. Others did not. Jake came in a gave them a dose of professionalism. The current Brumbies culture is the result.

Five things we learnt: Why Cheika could be the man to resurrect Tahs, Thor is the new Quade, value of sevens

Christy if you’re going to use ChatBox to help write your articles give them a proofread before publishing. “Wright, who was similarly looked over for last year’s World Cup ” .

'It was brutal': Clutch Lolesio kicks Brumbies to 'Test match intensity' win over Reds as Wright shines again

Maybe, just maybe, their not superstar wingers. One has occasional quality carries but has long periods of not much. And is not a committed defender. The other is a rookie whose right now is over-hyped. Most of the forwards are Wallabies but too often were picked on upside and really impressive wallabies training camps rather than actual delivery.

The Tahs have consistently played to their talent over the last few years. Sad to say.

'Something's not working': Tahs' Good Friday turns into a nightmare as Rebels recruit Daugunu seals upset win

Did Donaldson own any World Cup games? Did Carter? The latter especially gets more credit than deserved because he plays in a poor team.

Lolisio was a very young 10 who was expected to be lead a backline of much more experienced players and was dropped because the forwards got smashed at the breakdown. Again.

A Test team needs a high quality goal kicker. 3rd player picked after the props. Maybe 4th after the reserve tight head.

More 'Scary Schmidt' than 'Sleepy Joe': Ireland tales that show the new Wallabies coach could be a polarising figure

Less subs to bring some fatigue into the game, “use it” when it’s at the back of the scrum, time limits on set plays and daylight between last feet and the offside line.

The big difference in the modern game is hands in the ruck by all and sundry which makes running the ball risky and clearing out and tackling well ahead of the ball.

The maul is unique to Rugby. If you don’t like it watch league.

WR's mooted law changes are great - but show there's a hell of a lot wrong with rugby in 2024, and that sucks

The fact that Rugby League – a $billion business has been able to extort taxpayers hard earned to build stadiums does not mean football doing the same if in any sense “fair”.

The AFL have blackmailed the Tassie and Federal governments into building thier place of business in Hobart.

Few business are have their hand out to government like professional sport, all the while living on the income generated from problem gamblers.

I’ve been to Bruce stadium twice recently for Union and League. It’s fine. Better than Canberra hospital emergency which was heaving last Sunday night when I unfortunately had to visit.

Football in Australia must never stop fighting for its fair share of funding

Shows the foolishness is talking about who should and shouldn’t be selected for the Wallabies 4 or 5 weeks in.

Reds' 'unbelievable, unfathomable' double disaster sums up shocker as Force spring stunning upset

Haven’t been a big fan in the past but I admit Donaldson has been playing well. He was very good against the Brumbies as well.

Soft.

ANALYSIS: Good teams win when they're not at their best - but the Brumbies have a lot to fix to challenge in Super Rugby

That was top refereeing effort. Made for a great game.

Toole stunner sees Brumbies snap 10-year drought in Dunedin as flyer's Test stocks rise

Steve Larkham was the victim of many late hits in his career. In a trial game Justin Harrison explained in a very kinetic way that any more would be not be kindly received. Cost him a yellow card and he got a standing ovation from the small crowd. The cheap shots stopped.

'What you permit, you promote': Reds slam late 'cheap shot', HMP set to start ahead of Lynagh in Rebels grudge match

He was good. Best I’ve seen from him. I was at the game and in code up view he seems little bigger this year. The issue with the young 10s is only Noah is a test quality place kicker at this stage. Have to be someone else. Lonergan perhaps.

Yellow card hurts Force as Brumbies seal come from behind win to get season back on track

I was at the game. Too hot for quality Rugby this time of year. Much as I love the afternoon games so kids can attend it’s a big ask to play in this heat. Players were visibly struggling and it impacted on skills.

Eddie’s united the Tribes. He’s really Merlin. He took us low to see the folly of our ways. The Saxons are coming. The Waelish. We must stand together.

'No one backed us': $8 outsiders Waratahs upset Crusaders AGAIN as Edmed steps up to deliver famous win

Tane Edmed was really good. Love too see a 10 taking the close to the advantage line and on the move.

It’s taken the winter of discontent to do it but the this Brumby fan was cheering the Tahs.

Powell-PepperS look pretty much the same. Hunted him down and used a shoulder to the head. He’s not a Collingwood player and it’s not the finals so 4 weeks.

After 13 super appearances you can see he has less weaknesses. No finals, no tests.

Five things we learned: Aussies given early Super Rugby warning, Lolesio's timely reminder

Carter would be a better 10 in the Brumbies so he’s better the Noah even though Noah was one of the reasons the Brumbies towelled the Rebels. Pretzels logic. Lollisio influenced the game . Carter did not.

I hope the Wallabies obsession with big unit wingers is over. Pick real pace on the flanks and you’re always in the game. Jorgensen and Poole.

'Own worst enemy': Rebels' month from hell continues as Brumbies smash Aussie rivals, Lolesio's timely reminder

The hit was late, high and reckless at best. A straight red card in both Rugby codes.
Maynard turned his shoulder and made direct contact with Bradshaw’s head, Made no effort to avoid the contact. If he really wanted to clean him what would he have done differently?

COMMENT: Angus Brayshaw's retirement isn't Brayden Maynard's fault - it's the AFL's
