Happy to go face to face with anyone anytime mate. I did not ‘have a crack’ at Foote.
You picked that one comment out of my post, misrepresented and exaggerated what I said and ignored the rest of it.

The Wrap: Rugby Australia gaslights Rebels staff and why ‘I Can’t Go For That’

There was a stop put on legal action to recover unpaid tax during covid. Well known in legal, financial and accounting sectors. Not announced by the ATO for obvious reasons.

The Wrap: Rugby Australia gaslights Rebels staff and why ‘I Can’t Go For That’

So tell us Geoff, what are these hidden facts? And how do you know these hidden facts when no one else does?

The Wrap: Rugby Australia gaslights Rebels staff and why ‘I Can’t Go For That’

Geoff is hard at work creating the narrative that RA are the bad guys. The way weaved this into the article is just part of that.

And the ad hominem attack is what the woke try to use when they can’t mount any counter argument. Which is almost always.
Thanks for a great demonstration.

COMMENT: It's a disgrace rugby is heading to Qatar - but that's not because of sportswashing

The staff have been treated appallingly by their employer, not RA, who are now footing the bill for their salaries since the Rebels defaulted on their employment contract obligations.
Foote should lay the blame where it rests, instead of engaging in RA bashing. There is a concerted strategy of demonising and blaming RA. Whether he meant to or not, Foote fed that narrative. Completely unfairly in my opinion.
Yes, I am absolutely in agreement that this has been horrible for staff and players.
But allocate the fault where it lies. The Rebels have even been accused of redirecting money given to them by RA specifically to meet the PAYE and super obligations.
So now you resort to accusing me of an ‘appalling post’. That’s rich. As usual you do not respond to anything say, and now you resort to demonising me as well. I think you have backed yourself into a corner with your support of the rebels and it’s pretty clear that most people on here aren’t swallowing it any longer.
I am still waiting for the dramatic reveal of information that you have alluded to several times over the past weeks. What is it Geoff? Time to spell it out or admit you don’t really have anything.

The Wrap: Rugby Australia gaslights Rebels staff and why ‘I Can’t Go For That’

Ha, ha, public holiday up here in Queensland. Feeling very relaxed and comfortable, thanks.

The Wrap: Rugby Australia gaslights Rebels staff and why ‘I Can’t Go For That’

‘Gaslighting staff’. What about gaslighting the ATO, gaslighting RA, gaslighting the Australian rugby public, gaslighting players and staff? This is what the Rebels Directors have done since at least 2018. You sound desperate to paint RA as the wrongdoer Geoff. As does the Rebel’s coach, with his very strategic sounding words of deflection and blame. Foote failed to acknowledge that his wage is now being paid by RA, nor that his employer had defaulted on his employment contract.
I think there is a pretty transparent strategy to paint RA as the wrongdoer here.
It is useful to note the tactics of gaslighting: Deflection, allocating blame to others, lying to look better, hiding the true situation, going on the attack, victim shaming, putting others in defence mode.
The reality: Insolvent trading since 2018, $23.2 million in debt, a grandiose scheme to ‘invest $25 million in the future Rebels’ (but not a cent actually put on the table).
Read the VA Report Geoff. It’s all there. The truth. No gaslighting.

The Wrap: Rugby Australia gaslights Rebels staff and why ‘I Can’t Go For That’

King, $23.2 million in debt. How long were they unable to pay their bills for to rack that up? The VA looks at their records, books, bank statements etc.
He said 5 years.

Rebels face more hurdles despite $25m rescue plan, call on RA to show support and reveal hand as court battle looms

Hi RA. We are going to sue you for $8m plus. Oh, yeah, we also expect you to give us a new license and to give us more $$.
Ok?

Rebels face more hurdles despite $25m rescue plan, call on RA to show support and reveal hand as court battle looms

Does anyone believe that the ‘Consortium’ is going to raise ‘$20-$30 million’ investment in the ‘new Melbourne Rebels’?
Anyone?
There is no end to the BS from this crew.

Rebels' Super future hanging on creditors' Friday vote as Rugby Australia set to go against plan

Yeah, we should just go with the Force and the Reds. Great idea Jacko.

Rebels' Super future hanging on creditors' Friday vote as Rugby Australia set to go against plan

True. But he still runs with his body too high.

The five Aussie young guns who should be celebrated - and the one who is ready for the Wallabies

Very funny Ben. And true. We do play NZ far too much, including in SR. Hitching our whole rugby structure to NZ via SR has led us to where we are today.
It’s time to go it alone, to focus on a domestic competition. The sponsorship money is there, they just aren’t interested in funding a failed and declining competition with little local interest.

The insurmountable problem facing Australian rugby in a doomed rivalry with New Zealand

No, I think it’s you who have no idea if that is how you select a test team.

Super Rugby shows that the Bledisloe Cup isn't going anywhere - one selection could give the Wallabies hope

He is getting plenty of comments. So plenty of readers.
I will keep reading Hamish, you are perfectly entitled to your opinion, it’s an opinion site.
Ignore those who take it personally.

Super Rugby shows that the Bledisloe Cup isn't going anywhere - one selection could give the Wallabies hope

I think the author is stating the obvious. NZ have slipped down in overall standard too. That’s clear. But as long as they can beat the Wallabies and win SRP the whole country will be happy. Pretty much everything there is measured by comparison against Australia. That becomes abundantly clear every time you go there. Rugby, wine, economics (only when they are doing well – not very often), etc, etc.
Some will claim otherwise. But, we know, it’s not easy, being the little brother.
Hence, this article.
He is right though, but we all knew that, didn’t we.
And for the record, they are much, much better at rugby than we are. Always have been, except for a few brief periods of equality.

Super Rugby shows that the Bledisloe Cup isn't going anywhere - one selection could give the Wallabies hope

I have not made a single assumption nor drawn any conclusions of my own. It’s all there in the Administrators report and other publicly available information.
As usual, you do not address anything I post directly, you instead make a nebulous reference to some sort of ‘secret directors business’ that only you and the board are aware of.
Fiduciary duties? Yes, very relevant. That is the duty of a Director.

The Wrap: Rebels young gun rockets out of Wallabies contention, and why Samipeni Finau's 'brutal' hit on Edmed was fair game

The survival and development of rugby in Victoria is in no way dependent on the survival of the Rebels. It would make a lot more sense for these rugby evangelists to fund a new entity and save themselves $22 million In the process (or whatever proportion of the debt remains after the poor old creditors take it on the chin).
If they were motivated in the way you describe, that is what they would do.
There must be an ulterior motive. And I think if we look at the connections between the consortium and the rebels, we can quite easily work out exactly what that is.

The Wrap: Rebels young gun rockets out of Wallabies contention, and why Samipeni Finau's 'brutal' hit on Edmed was fair game

I agree with you. Super Rugby is a failure as a business model. That doesn’t change anything in this mess and it certainly doesn’t excuse the Rebels board from their behaviour.

The Wrap: Rebels young gun rockets out of Wallabies contention, and why Samipeni Finau's 'brutal' hit on Edmed was fair game

No comment on this article whatsoever on the lamentable (that is putting it as mildly as it can be described) behaviour of the Rebels board. The Administrators report says it all, make sure you read that before you judge the board or RA in this.
But apparently, we are focussing on the wrong thing. Everyone, the media and the fans, are ‘missing the point’, according to Geoff.
Insolvent trading since 2018, a failure to lodge company returns (which require a declaration of solvency), misuse of RA funds, unpaid PAYE and Super, unfair preference payments (!), and a best case scenario of 15 – 30 cents in the dollar going to creditors if a magic pudding of $18 million materialises from supposedly smart investors who want to ‘invest’ in ‘The Rebels’, and the best bit, RA re license the Rebels board and they are excused and escape any consequences whatsoever, and, wait for it, the main clincher in this deal, they are given the reigns of the franchise to go on their merry way, yet again.
And don’t forget. This great ‘deal’ also includes a promise to engage RA in legal action. So, RA would be absolute fools not to agree to that!
I know who is missing the point here.

The Wrap: Rebels young gun rockets out of Wallabies contention, and why Samipeni Finau's 'brutal' hit on Edmed was fair game

Standard post from this guy, ‘Phantom’ whenever a top Kiwi team losses. I have never read a positive comment from him in respect of an Australian team.
Best ignored.

Brumbies knock over Hurricanes in statement win as Wright shines again behind forward pack

15c in the dollar. SFA either way.

UPDATE: RA say they were blindsided over Rebels' finances, reject private consortium claim as administrator backs club's survival

No, definitely not.

UPDATE: RA say they were blindsided over Rebels' finances, reject private consortium claim as administrator backs club's survival

I am looking forward to see how Geoff tries to spin this. He told me, rather sternly indeed, in a quite condescending tone, ‘wait for the administrators report’.
Well, we have it Geoff, and we can all see the history, the behaviour and the ‘plan’.
I’d put a 😂 if it wasn’t so 😢
