Sicily IS clearly being judged by his reputation rather than the tackle which was totally reasonable.
Oh, it was simply not an option for him to not tackle.

I don’t have to have any regard to Selwood’s peers, Doc just like you have chosen to ignore any of Sicily’s.
Selwood may be a champion footballer but he was also flawed with an unsporting streak – only a one-eyed Geelong would fail to recognise that.
It’s bordering on an ad hominem argument on your behalf to personally attack Sicily rather than focus on the action under appeal and the appalling decision of tribunal at issue, -which the panel didn’t provide full reasons for.

Hmmm. Until the AFL come out and mandate suspensions for ANY tackle that ends up in a concussion (say, 3 weeks), and/or the potential for head contact (1 week), I simply can’t agree with your proposition.
Sicily’s tackle is textbook legit in being a football action excecuted within the bounds of a reasonable duty of care. The outcome was a pure accident.
Feels like a genuine case of chooklotto and I wonder whether it’s Sicily rep rather than the tackle than being judged here.

The Sicily suspension is a travesty.
The Tribunal has lost the plot and is obviously wanting to make an example of him rather than deal fairly with the circumstances of the incident.

Sicily didn’t have sufficient control over his tackle to be entirely culpable for the outcome. There are also contributory inputs from Tyler Brockman and McCluggage himself which were also pivotal.
It would be a travesty if Sicily is suspended.

McRae simply doing what you’d expect of any coach – he didn’t say it was a football act just that it was a split second decision. In fact, he was highly sympathetic of Hewitt’s condition.
