I agree. All of the noise coming from everywhere I turned pushed me to write this article. There will be a bounce back. There is nothing that annoys me more than when people who are nowhere to be seen during the lows come out of the woodwork when a club is doing well. Highs and lows is what makes being a fan so rewarding. You can’t fully experience one without having experienced the other.
What does it really mean to be a true and loyal sports fan?
I completely respect that point of view. I’m an avid NBA fan as well and the business first, people second approach to the organisations makes it incredibly difficult to develop a lasting connection to any one team. Much easier to follow players wherever they get traded.
And I agree with you about the QLD Maroons. Being at Suncorp Stadium when the iconic QUEENSLANDER chant goes up is a feeling that cannot be replicated anywhere else in the world. That is true unbridled passion and soul right there. 50000 hearts beating as one.

They absolutely have my admiration as well. For me it still feels like I’ve not experienced completely what it feels like to win a premiership. Back in 06 when Brisbane last one it was but a blip on my radar. Can’t wait to experience it in its entirety one day.

Definitely. There’s always an upside. Always a silver lining in the (hopefully) not to distant future.

100%. It’s amazing how many people disappear at the first sight of adversity. I didn’t really get to appreciate our last premiership in 06 because I didn’t have the knowledge to understand what it meant. Can’t wait for the day that I get to experience it completely.

Love this!! No age is to young in my books. I wish I’d been roped in way sooner. For me it still feels like I’ve never one a premiership because even though they last won in 06 I didn’t get to be there in that moment and understand what it really meant. If I were your family I’d been sneaking “We’re the Broncos” onto your playlist 😂

Absolutely. I’ll always back the QLD teams beating any NSW team these days. Even have a soft spot for your “QLD” Storm as well. ????????
