Ja, Ja. Well aware of that.

West Coast were a bottom 10 team before those outs. With there other injuries, and the potential for the same COVID scenario to strike again they’re a chance for bottom 4 or worse.

Freo were poor against a mediocre team on their home deck on the weekend, they need to bank games like that yet they still struggle to do so. They should still get into the 8, but missing Fyfe for 6 weeks (if not more) will make things even harder.

AFL NEWS: Dogs careful with Crozier after fainting, Fyfe back out for six, Thomas suffers internal bruising

Sure they will. Both of them not making it is more likely at this point. Weagles are a chance for bottom 2, Freo 6-12.

Never, Lol. I’ll get back to commenting on footy when you stop stinking up threads.

Do genuinely hope it’s only 6 weeks for Fyfe, need one WA team to make finals, and Freo is the only one with a chance.

Nah, not the Tigers. I’ll talk footy with anyone willing to have a reasonable conversation, which obviously excludes the Don.

Nics, surely you know who you’re speaking to? Just have fun with him, no point taking anything he says seriously, it’d be like screaming back at the monkeys in the zoo.

Surely Grant Thomas supporting a decision is grounds enough to appeal it?! The bloke is a deadset lunatic.

Should’ve been a week, reckon they review panel will regret this one.

AFL NEWS: No appeal despite Rioli dodging ban but Thomas says tribunal got it right, Bomber grounded

I was one who expected nothing other than a draw, and with Pakistan looking settled and slowly grinding away I decided to get an early night. Imagine my shock this morning!

Watching the highlights today it looked like some wonderful bowling. In fairness, I think we’ve bowled fairly well this series, fielding, well not so much.

This is is still a poor pitch, if the ball doesn’t reverse, and depending on the cherry out of the box it may not, then this will still most likely be a draw. 3 draws in a 3 match series a strong possibility still.

Noticing a few posters chirping a bit less today.

Captain fantastic! Pakistan lose 7-20 as Cummins, Starc spark stunning collapse to put Aussies in command

A few noticeably absent posters on this thread. Some of the innuendo was pretty crook.

Anyway, very happy with how things stand, I was hoping Boland would play for Starc but I am stoked for Starc

'I'm astonished by that': Cummins makes another huge call after Swepson and Starc destroy Pakistan, Aussies power ahead

I’m sure it was tongue firmly in cheek, however, I’ll bite. The MCG produced a poor pitch through poor (over the years) preparation, there was nothing deliberate about it. Here we have a deliberately poor pitch, which is an utter disgrace.

Prepare the best pitch you can, not the pitch anyone wants. That has to be the bare minimum.

Jeff, I understand how you feel, I watched SR and AFL all last year, and the year before and was plenty annoyed when crowds didn’t show – what I’d have given to be there.

Whilst it may been mentioned in the rags, there’s been no build up over here – the AFLW and the AFL intraclub matches are rating more of a mention, hell, the figure skating is too. I genuinely had no idea it was even on, people who live in east Melbourne next to the ground were asking the parking guards what’s going on.

Yup, decentralisation of some of these lesser games is a brilliant idea, Bendigo, Ballarat, Geelong would all be much better locations. Also, create some build up, who’s playing, who’s not? What’s on the line etc.

Tge t20’s just seem so tacked on.

Pandemic, JL backlash or T20 apathy: Why have fans ignored World Champion Aussies' battle with Sri Lanka?

Absolutely Paul, it’s a real shame he’s not touring, but from the selectors point of view I get it. He’s young enough though and he’ll get plenty more chances you’d reckon. A solid home summer is exactly what the doctor ordered, so I’ll be patient for now.

What I found amusing was some of fringe elements discussing whether he was injured or not, pretty odd.

I’d have loved to have seen one of Hunt/Street in for Ussie/Harris (we can leave my feelings about this pair for another time), but I completely understand tge position of the selectors.

Harris in the runs again as Vics fight back, Tremain tears through Tassie

It may well have been, I’m just saying I didn’t notice it. Having just walked the dog through Yarra park, I reckon the crowd for the originally scheduled game is a fair bit better.

My point was, if i, who keeps a close eye on the cricket, and subscribes to the Hun, Age and reads the guardian didn’t even know it was on, then it’s unsurprising that the crowd was low. Others here have voiced similar opinions. You seem to disagree, so, cool I suppose – you know cricket fixtures better I guess.

Had a pint with a colleague this afternoon who follows cricket even closer than I do, he was unaware it was on until he stepped into the pub on Friday.

My uneducated reading of the situation with Richardson since the Adelaide test is that they’re concerned about his ability to get through multiple innings. He, understandably, is a touch annoyed.

Feels like a very tough spot to be in for the selectors, with them having gone the conservative route (the whole selected squad could be viewed that way).

Harris in the runs again as Vics fight back, Tremain tears through Tassie

I’m one who had no idea it was on. I don’t pencil the whole schedule for the summer in on the calendar, particularly not T20I’s, not to mention that this game was rescheduled from a different venue in a different state.

I walk past the MCG every morning on the way to work, listen to SEN and read 3 local rags and had no idea this match was on.

Pandemic, JL backlash or T20 apathy: Why have fans ignored World Champion Aussies' battle with Sri Lanka?

Honestly, until I saw the lights on at the G as I was walking up the river, I had no idea it was on.

The sandgroper bots will be out in force for this one, they put the Russians to shame – “Hell hath no fury like a West Australian scorned”.

Sure this was poorly handled, but blind Freddie could see this was how things were going to play out for quite some time.

First off, NZC certainly didn’t ‘make every effort’ as booking some precautionary slots/ liasing with the government would surely be the bare minimum.
Secondly, CA, book in a Aus v Aus A match or two, perfect way to make the best of a bad situation.

Or Novak turned up with incorrect documentation for the visa he presented. You’re jumping at shadows here, the Victorian government had nothing to do with this, as State governments don’t make decisions regarding international borders.

Rugby Championship turnaround: What a difference a Quade makes

I find that serving in Tennis is a lot like driving and long iron shots in golf, or an expansive drive in cricket, it’s more a timing and rhythm than a technique thing.

Rugby Championship turnaround: What a difference a Quade makes

Great article Paul, one that has summed up succinctly something that has irked me for a while.

Growing up and learning the game, multiple coaches and later captains impressed upon me how vital it was to not let a batsman get a start, and as such we’d always make sure they really earned those first few runs.

Watching some teams now, they seem happy to let them have that pressure release dab run.

As a former bowler, I can confirm, that nothing is more frustrating than Unrewarded nicks that shoot away for 4.

Why aren’t old-fashioned fielding positions used anymore?

Yup, enjoyed the book as a teenager. My name is Jim too.

'If you are going to do it, do it': History shows no point in Hawks delay

Not asking for glowing reviews, but Cam has written negatively about Hawthorn for as long as he has written on this site. Why? Who knows. An ex who broke his heart? A bully at school? A horrible boss? Someone from or who supports hawthorn hurt him.

They’re rebuilding after a 3 peat (with a fourth flag a few years earlier), not too stressed about where they sit at the moment. Day, CJ, DGB all look like goers, hopefully something to look forward too.

'If you are going to do it, do it': History shows no point in Hawks delay

A negative article by Cam about Hawthorn? Surely not.

If you couldn’t see this coming a couple of years ago, maybe it’s time to start paying attention. As soon as Mitchell came back to hawthorn this was on the cards.

Anyway, will certainly be interesting to see how it plays out.

And Cam, try putting on a different record, this one has been cooked for a while.
