Although on current form (pretending that Tye didn’t just do his shoulder) I would have him in ahead of Faulkner
Australia should be a dominant T20 team
Also I misread your comment apologies! No way would you drop Faulkner for Paine though! Paine doesn’t make the side and Dunk should be only keeper

I think people are placing too much emphasis on what ifs in T20. I’ve held the belief for a while that teams need to go harder earlier and risk losing a couple games in the hopes your big hitters win you games which we are seeing frequently. I reckon Dunk is a better T20 bat than Paine due to his better boundary hitting. Read Kimber or Date on Cricinfo for their analysis on it. Warner and Smith can play that role fine and you are simply wasting resources on not having a better hitter there

By far the best One Day keeper going around, he seems to just get better and better. Hope his hands heal in time
Champions trophy: The deadly five
Disagree completely… look at our most recent ODI tour there scores of 300+ everywhere. The decks have been roads in England ODIs for the last couple years. I wouldn’t expect that to change at all in this tournament where England’s strength is undoubtedly their batting line-up. I would say they have one of the weaker bowling attacks in the comp and are relying on their ability to punch out massive scores.
Champions trophy: The deadly five
Must be… Honestly what does Khawaja have to do to get a game…
Australia lean on pace in squad for Champions Trophy
Fair point, tried to watch as much shield cricket as I could, and I am utterly convinced Nevill is better than Wade. Carey does seem a sharp keeper too from what I’ve seen (only 3 shield games though)
Australia must pick Alex Carey for the Ashes
Agreed Nudge, although I’m awaiting the day they unleash the 4 quicks together I think you’d need pretty juicy decks to consider it consistently (not gonna happen), so Lyon still takes the cake. Although I’m not a massive fan of rotation, given the fragility of all our quicks it doesn’t hurt to have one in the wings either. Lyon is also still doing a job for us as you say

Still not sold on Wade being considered a “reliable” keeper-batsman. He is neither reliable in terms of runs, nor keeping ability. Bring back Nev. Clearly wasn’t up to the batting standard we required so he went back to the shield and scored a stack of runs (625 at 56.81) including 3 hundreds. In the absence of comprehensive wicket-keeping statistics that are being ever-more called upon my personal judgement is that his keeping is still of a far higher standard than that of Wade.

I was only 3 at the time but I’ve seen the highlights! I would say Australia is currently the worst offender in the world at the moment unfortunately. Proliferation of drop-ins certainly doesn’t make it easy but it was nice to see the SCG taking turn again during the Shield this year!

Very fair point and have thought about this, should’ve phrased it with more of a view forward

You’re dead right, sorry first article and there was so much to fit in I may have lost the flow a little. Add him to the battery and don’t rule out the return of Peter SIddle as extra depth if he can recover

I like the intent, would love to see how it panned out
