I don’t think Carter is discarded, the gameplan does not suit his skillset. Also we brought the heaviest most injured team to the WC and yet you want them to run without the ball.

I can’t help but feel that this game plan was one of key factors that caused Eddie J to be sacked by English Rugby board when he did his presentation. S Borthwick had many hard loses through the Six nations but at least it seems they have returned back to how red roses used to play.

Look at the way Red roses is playing. S Borthwick seem to have returned to their DNA of kicking goals and grinding you out with wins against Pumas and Japan. As much as I love Eddie J but compare this now with our current type of play that is not possession based which is in our DNA. It is so disappointing

We can see how much a big change is it if Thor and Big Will is not there. I think we can’t afford Frosty, Arnold and T Hooper because who will do the big carries from these three.

I think Gordon needs to be hidden away just look at how Dantye made metres against him..now imagine Sami R running at him. you see this where either Hoops or Mcreight should cover as we did in the past.

I knew this injuries would come. Eddie J is currently taking a big risk by putting too many minutes into our key players. hopefully Talakai and LSL will feature. Why is Kemeny in the team if his not playing. It seems Kerevi and JP wont make it to the end so Ikitau and R lonergan hopefully will be drafted.

1 win maybe against Los pumas because let’s not forget Big Dave struggled against them..forget about winning at Loftus versfeld because not even DR would have rescued that. He would have lost both test matches against AB. The last time he won against them was in 2020 when AB was still finding their groove. Actually it was due to QC that his record is not worse.

Just another thing Steve Hansen was pointing out how easier our draw is and yet look at the teams his 2015 WC winners played: Georgia, Tonga and Namibia with Pumas(wow what an easy draw with only Pumas to give you some sort of fight). Then french QF then Bokke SF. Now compare this to our team: we had red roses, red dragons and some other teams, then Scotland than the Pumas. Quite clearly AB had a far easier run to the WC final where we had to grind it out every step of the way.

Nah we have always had close games and losses against Irish and French since 2014 with a maximum of 5 point margins regardless of where these teams were on the WR rankings or whoever the coach was. So I would not read too much in these results.

That 38% was achieved over 3 Years let’s see if Eddie J can beat that.

But Adam we knew with DR we will never get past QF and yet many was willing to accept it. He would have certainly have lost in Pretoria, lose both matches against AB and get a win over Pumas but at home of course. That is Mediocre at best especially for someone who would be in his fourth here in charge

DR was fortunate that Fozzie didn’t have Ryan and Irish Joe from the start when AB was vulnerable from 2020. Otherwise many more losses was waiting for him. Let’s look at his 2020 results 1 win from 6 games with a couple of draws but these draws means nothing you still didn’t win. This could barely consider successful. In 2021 French send their B team to face WB and we won the series barely which is great. Then 3 losses against an AB team not yet having Irish Joe and J Ryan on board. DR under pressure and needed to make a call to either Foley or Quadie just to stop his losses continuing. And so we had 4 straight wins but then we lost the next four. So for 6 wins (2 Vs french B, 2 Vs Bokke, 1 Vs Japan, 1 Vs Pumas) out of 14 games. What a shocker that many is not pointing this out. Now let’s add the games from 2020. That would be 7 wins from 20 games. So let’s give Eddie the same leeway to see if he can beat that. Then I think 7out 14 games we won in 2022. So let’s see how Eddie do over the next two years after this year to make comparisons.

Actually it is doable if you play all your games in your backyard.

JN if Big Dave played in your backyard all four matches than there is a high chance he would lose all those matches. He was only competitive against AB in his first year in charge but that was when AB was finding their feet without the back room staff of Jason R and Irish Joe. Wallabies was always expected to be knocked out at the QF with Big Dave in charge.

Yes Pete, And still getting selected over and over. Look at how slips was penalised and even made captain, for example. Slips even lost his place to Belly from the looks of it.

And Noah L would have been third choice since he was from the beginning in DR squad.

I think Geoff, Eddie probably didn’t like what he saw from Quadie as our most experienced against the Bokke and Pumas since he started both games. It could have been reactionary from Eddie J who knows and it is hurtful to see Quadie go out like this. Perhaps he is creating a culture of “fear” that even though you are very experienced not even you are safe from been excluded on day match team, which has been missing from our team.

Geoff what makes this so sad is that Wales imploded as well, their URC teams were dismal in the competition, they have or had financial problems, fired Pivac. Both Gatland and Borthwick showed it is not madness to hire a coach in a WC year. Both showed you can make a turnaround as both qualified for the next round. Borthwick did not have any test match experience before taking the job but at least he got his backroom staff in place that will support him.
