8 weeks seems fine, I think they had very little to go on to establish an appropriate punishment. I heard someone got 4 weeks for an homophobic comment a while back. Homophobia vs racism, pretty difficult to weigh up. I thought Mitchell and co were very lucky and the NRL was very weak to allow comments before the case was heard. Otherwise let everyone comment without consequence or fines.

No excuse for Leniu being ignorant of the impact of his words - eight-week ban sends strong message against racism

This comment based on first hand knowledge? or just an generalisation on what he looks like and the area he came from?

the media is definitely protecting her….FA comments only about her mental health. they are using the outlandish innocent until proven guilty defense, they may have spoken to Robo.

Leniu to face judiciary over alleged 'monkey' racial slur, heated hotel confrontation revealed, Tuqiri blasts Robbo

lets see what these same people call for Sam Kerr. All Football Australia seems to be concerned about is her mental health….no mention of not advising FA until it came out in the news 6 weeks later…seems like she is getting treated vastly different from Spencer…i understand it is different sport…but we are all all sports fans..and we are all against racism.

you are correct on the dixiecrats and jim crow references steveng……but maybe temper your arguments to your audience….chances are you maybe talking to 15 year olds who have not heard of the New Deal or Southern Democrats.

Leniu to face judiciary over alleged 'monkey' racial slur, heated hotel confrontation revealed, Tuqiri blasts Robbo

for a better understanding of what steveng is talking about, maybe look into dixiecrats and jim crow laws…what steveng is talking about the is post new deal and how the southern democrats reacted, but we are on Roar and are not suppose to looking seriously at civil rights.

try google “dixiecrat”, you will understand better what steveng is talking about. Or look at Jim Crow laws if you find civil rights interesting…all about the southern democrats.

Ben are you saying that if he is innocent, he should have been OK to be called a racist?, I do not agree, if I was innocent and I was called a racist, I would’ve belted him. That said I have a gut feeling that Spencer is not innocent. However the East’s coach was correct…let the process play out. If guilty come down on him like a tonne of bricks. If innocent Spencer needs to absolutely smash next time they meet.

‘Fun and games, banter’: Leniu response to racial allegation beggars belief as ‘heat of the battle’ mentality harms NRL yet again

If he is found innocent, he should ve punched him in the head as he called him an racist….somehow I do not think he will be found innocent.

‘Fun and games, banter’: Leniu response to racial allegation beggars belief as ‘heat of the battle’ mentality harms NRL yet again

It would be interesting to compare the response to Leniu by NRL and the response to Kerr by Football Australia….once the dust settles.

totally agree, we are tier 2 only on performance, everything else we are definitely tier 1.

waratahs commercial assets, now that’s an oxymoron.

all points mentioned, i agree with. i think it must be mentioned that beyond the blue mountains into regional centres such as Dubbo, Bathurst, Orange etc, have also produced some great footballers for the current Panthers machine. Great talent identification in regional centres, moved to schools in the Panthers regions, playing age groups for the Panthers and moving into the system. It has taken many years but 4 grand finals in this era, with opportunity for more is quite an achievement. We are 9th or 10th in the world now. We should be looking closely at what the top 3 or 4 are doing and seeing what we can copy. No different to Toyota copying the american car makers when they were trying to close the gap.

you are correct Jetka, Parra is i guess the furthest they have been….to play / see Kings.

'Bloody disappointed: Wallabies OUT of World Cup as nation to miss finals for first time, Eddie fights for survival

RA needs to copy the Penrith Panthers, four consecutive grand finals. win the west, establish pathways. this is done in spite of losing a truckload of juniors to other clubs.

I have yet to see Kellaway have a bad game for the wallabies, Bell has taken a massive leap and Kerevi does need serious minutes under his belt. Agree with all your comments.

ANALYSIS: Why the Wallabies' breakdown woes could be helped from outside their own camp

savant, you missed the 14 points that was in our favour. ritchie playing the ball on the ground in our first try and frost on the wrong side of the ruck, ball passed into him, no9 collects and would have scored. yes we were doing this all day as we were losing the contact all day. we need to understand rugby is a contact sport. we win the contact, more often than not, we will get the rub of the green. kerevi, bell, our no8 and our wingers are the only players capable of winning contact. that is not enough.

Hika, the two biggest decisions went our way;
1. Richie, was off his feet. he cant be involved in play. This resulted in our first try.
2. Frost offside on the ground, no9 passes ball into him, goes backwards and he is under the posts. Called back.

These are two of many examples of us playing the ball of the ground. I understand that we didnt have a choice as they were much better at the ruck but we got away with this on a number of ocassions.

We were also very lucky that our constant infringing didn’t cost us a man in the bin. This is what the pacific islanders are complaining about. Tier one can infringe regularly and not lose anyone. Fiji was warned yet only 6 or so penalties for the whole match.

Australia was also very lucky that Barnes was not the ref. I think he would have picked up on Australia’s first try and would have allowed advantage for fiji no9 to score before half-time. We were lucky with some decisions and unlucky in others. I would also be very surprised if we can outmuscle the welsh pack. I can not remember the last time we outmuscled any pack, if someone can remind me, it would be greatly appreciated. We are missing Skelton and Tupou. I don’t think Richie is anywhere near Rory, who in my opinion is one of the best second rowers in the world. I am expecting Kerevi to have a big game as well as the Angus Bell. Kellaway has to come back somewhere as he is one of the few with all the neccessary skills.

Generally agree Adam, except for not having an NPC level half-back. Passing is a skillet that our half-backs don’t have, also need to be competent at the box kick.

The uncomfortable truth: Whether under Rennie or Jones, the Wallabies just aren't good enough

Absolutely

Very impressed by the no9 kid. Great pass, great box kick, good ball runner and great goal kicking. The rest of the Fijians was not surprising. The best players for us, were the Fijian background players.

The uncomfortable truth: Whether under Rennie or Jones, the Wallabies just aren't good enough

Talent is relative, in my opinion. Do they have more talent than Fiji…..no way. If these Fijian players got the support, funding and playing schedule, that we have enjoyed, this would and should never have been a contest. Better backrow, better no9, better inside and outside backs. We kept it close in the set piece. Great article except categorising Fiji as “limited”. Their prep is limited, their class undoubted. We would be the opposite.
