Does recruiting players to only their second club make them recycled? Motlop, Dixon, Lycett weren’t trash nobody wanted they were just unlucky to play for clubs where their was a superstar in their dominant position.

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Preliminary finals

A cat has 9 lives, and this will be Chris Scott’s 9th visit to the finals as Cats coach. This is a very good omen, as I feel he has another premiership in him, one which validates his coaching credentials

Which coach stands to lose (or gain) the most from preliminary final weekend?

Carn the Catters, this will be a Geelong masterclass.

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Preliminary finals

If Carlton don’t sign him they’re absolutely stuffed

Ross Lyon reveals there's only one club he'd consider coaching next year

Teague isn’t a winner. He represents a proud and massive club yet doesn’t have the qualities or character to be the pillar of solidarity a big club needs. He’s never won anything and everywhere he goes the team doesn’t win anything. By playing Murphy, Casbolt, Curnow and watching Cripps become a shadow of himself this season shows he has absolutely no idea what he’s doing and where he is going. flogged by 95 points when your career is on the line is embarrassing and should be the swan song

'Pretty grubby:' Teague's manager blasts Ross Lyon for TV 'job interview'

They wouldn’t even know Matthew Scarlett’s language, he would speak about winning premierships and defense and the Carlton players would be looking around thinking does anyone understand a word this bloke is saying.

'Pretty grubby:' Teague's manager blasts Ross Lyon for TV 'job interview'

Teague had his chances. He never dropped players out of form! How are you going to get a great team together when players get given games that they don’t deserve. He’s not hard enough I’m sorry to say. He doesn’t talk like a leader, he doesn’t make hard calls like a leader, it’s time for that club to get serious and have a Ross Lyon coach the team. Because he guarantees success, Ross Lyon coached teams have played in 3 of the past 14 grand finals. Record speaks for itself

'Pretty grubby:' Teague's manager blasts Ross Lyon for TV 'job interview'

This is where the best football teams will show up. This is serious now and Melbourne haven’t played a great side like Geelong in ages. The cats have scores to settle this season and there’s no Dustin Martin to stop them. It’s like Goran Ivanisevic at Wimbledon, he had to wait until Pete Sampras his arch nemesis didn’t make it to the final to actually win the grand trophy, he put himself in the best position and just had to pray his one opponent that he could never beat wasn’t in the final

The AFL's top four go to war in Round 23

Same diff, he at least didn’t call the Premiership the World Championship

The AFL's top four go to war in Round 23

Could potentially end up with the minor Premiership? Aren’t you aware of the ladder? Don’t you do your due diligence and check before writting an article? These 2 are playing for the minor premiership if Geelong win it’s the cats on top and port 2nd demons 3rd. If you don’t even know where these teams sit on the ladder are you sure you’re really qualified to write about them

Geelong vs Melbourne preview: This could be game of the year

This is absulute garbage, your writing an article about a team you clearly don’t support and have no emotional attachment to. We Geelong supporters don’t listen to naysayers. Only cats fans can indulge in such conversations about our team, because we understand there’s been circumstances behind these finals appearances not resulting in success. If the Cats not winning a premiership is worth writing about, then it’s a true reflection of needing some justification as to why being in the finals every year is not important. If criticizing a team and calling them failures for consistently giving their fans a chance and hope of winning it, by being one of the final 4 teams come seasons end, year in year out whilst all other clubs have its feet up on the beach on holiday is laughable. Its actually a psychological insight into the mindset other supporters have, needing a source of medicine to feel better about their own teams complete failures. As a Geelong supporter it’s been an extraordinarily successful era which all staunch cats fans know all to well that we shouldn’t take for granted. Injuries and suspensions and venue allocation have played critical factors in the current drought of premiership success. Some losses were off the back of key players getting injured at critical moments (Duncan, Stanley, Dangerfield) and other times just ridiculously unlucky to have our best goal scorer suspended for soft high contact charges. But the main factor remains that no matter where we finish on the ladder we can’t play Richmond in Geelong. A lot supporters of other teams find it impossible to understand why this is an issue. But Richmond fans especially have made it an absolute priority to diminish any voice of reason to give this notion that Geelong deserves to play in their own stadium. If I was a Richmond fan I would too. Richmond haven’t beaten Geelong at Kardinia Park for around 30 years and the lost the past 17 in a row. They are putrid down there and suffered humiliating defeats especially in the Ablett era. Tigers fans know this and are never going to support cats getting to play there. So that 2017 premiership to Geelong fans has a massive asterix next to it because the tigers were given home ground advantage when Geelong finished higher on the ladder. Then we have another year where Hawkins gets suspended for nothing and another year where our home final was played at the MCG against Collingwood. Add to this the AFL have said it is a crowd numbers issue that doesn’t allow Geelong home ground advantage. But as shown from last week where the venues were still not allowed to be switched from the MCG to Kardina Park in Geelong when supporters weren’t allowed to the ground. Its obvious that the Tigers have a lot of their supporters working in major roles in the AFL. In no way could you give a reasonable explanation why a home team couldn’t play at its home ground when crowd numbers aren’t a priority. As a paying member I don’t care about getting seats at the game, I want to see my team win and have home ground advantage. Manly sea eagles play at home their stadium holds 11,000 people. It’s not about crowd numbers it’s about agendaa

What if Geelong don't win the 2021 premiership?

History has shown us that in Finals the teams with the more dangerous goal scoring options are always going to beat sides that rely on defensive structure.

'Missing the minor premiership might be the least of their worries': Six talking points from AFL Round 19

Danger Danger High Voltage.
This Geelong champion was born for September.

No more Dusty, who is going to own the finals this September?

Geelong are finally playing like bullies again. They have finally overcome and destroyed their nemesis in Richmond. The monkey is off that back unfortunately for every other club your facing a team which is doesn’t concede more than 7 goals a game. Finally I can see the greatest Captain our footy club has ever had earn the title of premiership winning captain. Go cats

'I am left asking questions': Round 19 AFL power rankings

This final chapter of Gary Ablett jnr’s career was written by the football Gods. His legacy will be carved in stone on top of the upper echelons of football’s greatest ever players. The son of God like his father will be remembered by Cats fans forever and come Grand Final day along side his captain, Gary and the cats can finally get the respect and accolades they deserve. I can see the future too and Jack Henry will be Geelongs best player in a few years he will be unstoppable. Go cats

Vintage Gazza, superb defending lead Cats past Lions and into the grand final

Gary Ablett was allowed to do whatever he wanted. If he could of played a farewell game he would of. He had 2 massive knee operations in 1997 and his body said that’s it. Geelong was his club and he left on his terms. Boomer wanted to keep playing and North said no, big difference.

AFL 2020 finals forecast: One like few before

Playing midfield takes the most courage because you put your head down and hunt the football at the coal face. Once a midfielder gets the footy he has to make split second decisions that effect whether or not the footy is moving forward or back. And if your slow like I was when I played club footy it’s a position where you will get smashed by stronger faster players. The midfield is where the battle begins, and the forward line is where it is won. So that’s why the All Australian side consists of so many midfielders.

Zach who?

This trade is a reflection of just how miserable a place North Melbourne is at the moment. Being a champion of this club means nothing they couldn’t give Boomer Harvey a fair well game, traded Petrie and now giving Ben Brown the flick. I would just feel sick being a fan of that footy club at the moment, even Rhyce Shaw’s comments after losing games are delusional. Losing that many games is unacceptable by a club that use to be the toughest in the comp.

Ben Brown told to find new AFL club

Seriously if I was a North Melbourne fan I’d be writing to the club asking why you treat club Champions like trash. Boomer Harvey, Petrie and now Ben Brown. It just makes no sense to anyone looking in from another fans perspective, I’d just be horrified if Geelong treated they’re club Champions like that.

AFL 2020 finals forecast: One like few before

A good system but no superstars except Dusty. Tigers didn’t finish on top of the ladder and haven’t been blowing teams out so fair enough

Patrick Dangerfield named captain of All Australian side

A gentleman of the game and a true legend. He plays the game the right way on and off field, always speaks with great personality and humbleness and a role model for every kid in Australia. Just love his brand of footy, he will win the flag this year and he deserves it. Congrats Patty go cats

Patrick Dangerfield named captain of All Australian side

Zach plays in a losing team and he doesn’t make a big impact on the results. There is a lot of players with less stats but more impact on the result, and they’re teams are playing finals so I’d reward those players anyday than stat buffing players who’s stats don’t reflect how bad they’re team is.

Zach who?

Sam Menagola and Cam Guthrie should be in there. Patrick Dangerfield and Hawkins definitely make it, Fyfe, Bonts, Andrew’s, it is a good team this year.

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: All Australian team

Not the AFL mate, maybe the NRL and soccer, not this sport bud. If you grew up playing footy you would know it is the most important and most enjoyed part of country Australia. Every town from South Australia, W.A to Victoria footy is played by everyone and brings the entire community together every weekend. At professional level the AFL players all come from these country towns and small communities and it’s why it’s the most respectable competition in the country.

From grand finalists to flag favourites to also-rans: the sad story behind the Giant downfall in 2020

Giants have to sack Leon Cameron. Look at super teams like the Golden State Warriors and you see the coach Steve Kerr was behind all their success. Qld state of origin side won 10 years straight and had the respected Mal Meninga in charge. Brisbanr Lions won 3 flags and played the most exciting brand of football they had Leigh Matthews in charge. If you want a super team to be successful you need a great coach and then all players on the team will buy in. Football success is only based on premierships and if you don’t look like winning one or even challenge for one then the entire footy club is in tatters.
