def changing my tip now. i was thinking it was a tough game anyway because they would be pretty wounded after last week and have the talent to still give teams trouble even if they are playing like headless chooks atm.

'It's the right result': Leon Cameron confirms mutual decision behind resignation as Giants coach

What changed is lumumba grew up and realised the “go along to get along” approach most young black and brown kids choose when dealing with predominantly white environments had failed him. I completely relate with him there.
And ofcourse he’d go after buckley now that buckley has a cushy media gig, what punishment have either him or mcguire faced? Theyre constantly protected by the afl and their media mates.

Overall agree with you james, and i think alot of the right calls have been made since 2020……but Im so used to the club making knee jerk decisions that ive become a bit glass half empty haha

feels like essendon and saints basically swap positions each year based on their draw, saints got easy draw in 2020 and snuck into finals, drop back a fair way in 2021 when theyre given a tougher draw and now look like theyll sneak in again off the back of an easy draw but will do no damage. Bombers were the opposite, with their draw being tough in 20, easy in 21 and tough in 22.

It shows you cant really look at one season alone when judging these mid table teams due to the way the afl manipulates the draw based on prior season ladder position.
Question for me is which of these mid table teams (if any) are smart enough to not get ahead of themselves when sneaking into 7th /8th and break the mid table shackles. Demons have shown you can do it if you are patient and stay the course but I do worry about the dons and how beholden management are to vocal supporters and ex players in the media.

I guess i shouldnt be surprised though by the reactions of many here. Classic aussie behaviour to be more offended by an outspoken black/brown person refusing to compromise and stay in their lane than blatant examples of racist behaviour like calling black men king kong or chimp.

Why would you he join in a convo with someone who isnt acting in good faith? Youre upset that lumumba is drip feeding to the media now, but for the majority of his career mcguire and buckley were able to use their media buddies to cast doubt on lumumba.

He is probably going down the “scorched earth” path because he has been let down by the club on so many occasions and has lost any trust in those in charge acting in good faith. In every instance they have put PR management ahead of actually dealing with the issues he raised. The fact that McGuire was allowed to stay on as President after the goodes comments just shows how seriously the club really takes these issues.
I applaud people like Heretier and Goodes for standing their ground and actually shining a light on the BS virtue signalling by the AFL and clubs like Collingwood, they want all the plaudits and commercial gain from publicly supporting causes but dont actually walk the walk when it really matters.

AFL NEWS: Buckley responds to new Heritier Lumumba allegations, Voss responds to viral Patrick Cripps incident

all his comments on the saga have been disingenuous, if the guy was as good bloke as he is made out to be by fawning media then he wouldnt have had to clean out half the senior list when he took over from malthouse.

AFL NEWS: Buckley responds to new Heritier Lumumba allegations, Voss responds to viral Patrick Cripps incident

Pete have you heard the recording Lumumba has posted on twitter today of buckley and his discussion following lumumbas comments re Eddie/Goodes saga? in my eyes Buckley is all PR spin just like the club and the AFL hierarchy, they talk a good game about tackling racism in public but when faced with challenges behind close doors they protect the status quo and their mates like eddie. No wonder Lumumba wont accept their apologies because they have conducted themselves in a disingenuous manner throughout this saga.

and considering all the double speak from Buckley re “versions of the truth” it really does sounds like “im sorry you were upset” style non-apology to get lumumba to shut up.

dont think english will be back for this game

Western Bulldogs suffering from a non-premiership hangover

haha you are brave starting the trash talk with our current form 😂 im predicting we will play the doggies back into form like last years elimination final!

Western Bulldogs suffering from a non-premiership hangover

Bevo’s siege mentality style is more effective on the supporters than the playing group.

Western Bulldogs suffering from a non-premiership hangover

Two things can be true, morris is an entitled w@@@@ and bevo has lost the plot and went OTT to a pretty innocuous question. Dont see where cam stuck up for morris’ behaviour at all, but i guess i was reading the article with both eyes.

Western Bulldogs suffering from a non-premiership hangover

apparently passed the assessment post game, hopefully no further impact later in the week.

Six Points: Swans benefit from AFL's dumbest rule, Saints must be praised, and Dogs' problems aren't just bad kicking

you do realise coaches and players arent allowed to criticise the umpiring or face sanctions? I am happy for Truck to play a straight bat and get the team to focus on whats in their control, but that doesnt mean the punters cant air their displeasure.

With the US Masters on the horizon, AFL's moving day is upon us

in my eyes they clearly train for it. the AFL is keen to create a more high scoring and fast paced game with less stoppages, so over the last few years have instructed the umpires to be more lenient on incorrect disposal and throws but stricter on holding, in the back and high contact. Dogs players like macrae, hunter and weightman are masters of dropping the knees and propelling themselves forward to draw an in the back free, or leading into tacklers headfirst to draw a high. Whilst bont and libba have made the quick throw in congestion an art-form.

keep shifting the goal posts mate

do some research on statistical analysis instead of bleating the same response every time. For there to be such a big gap between the dogs differential and both the mean as well as the team with the next highest differential indicates there at least needs to be a review of what is driving the lopsided count, but you two would rather shout down any one who raises the issue.

With the US Masters on the horizon, AFL's moving day is upon us

Fact: 70 more free kicks for than against last year (the next best was around 30) and already 30 more this year.

I reckon Lions supporters would be on board too after the semi final last year.

With the US Masters on the horizon, AFL's moving day is upon us

round 1 you lost the contested possession count by 20 so were nowhere near first to the ball yet inexplicably won the free kick count by 13

With the US Masters on the horizon, AFL's moving day is upon us

its already 74 for, 44 against for 2022 so on track to beat last years differential. Kudos to the dogs coaching team devising a gamestyle that the umps and the powers that be look favourably on and drilling into their players the best way to take advantage of the constant rule tweaks. But personally I’d prefer throws/dropped balls/staging acknowledged by the umps even if it is at the expense of fast moving and high scoring football.

With the US Masters on the horizon, AFL's moving day is upon us

yeah definitely, replacing walla and snelling with a busted smith and ham makes a big difference to forward half pressure. really hope they drop smith soon, he’s cooked, but unfortunately with walla down and mosquito retiring the small forward stocks are thin.

Round 1 losers already under the blowtorch

There is a lot of warranted criticism of the footy media and in particular the fox Footy/Croc Media stables but selection news is fairly standard and innocuous stuff and by going off like he did Beveridge has given all the worst journos in the caper the impetus to get on their high horse and pat themselves on the back.

For the Bulldogs' sake - and his own - Luke Beveridge needs to pull his head in
