I could not disagree more with the entire sentiment or this article. Whatever his beliefs, religious or otherwise, he has breached his contract and is a danger to the sport and everything wider.

Israel Folau should be given a chance to defend his views

Very Irish starting XV!

Mako Vunipola over McGrath and Owens over Best. Maybe Cole over Furlong too… the right 6 for front row tho, I’d just swap some off bench.

O’Brien hasn’t been as good as he once was either. Billy at 8 for sure.

I agree with the rest.

The British and Irish Lions will win the series

Not bad.

Back row and 13 I’d change personally.

Would still have Joseph (JONATHAN Joseph) in at 13, and back row I would go for Stander at 6, Warburton at 7 and Billy Vunipola at 8.

Tempted to start with Mako at 1 too if he gets back to where he was before injury, but in current form McGrath is great.

O’Brian and Heaslip aren’t as good as they used to be, but should definitely go.

Also, VERY tempted to go for Launchbury over Lawes, but TOUGH call.

A Lions team to start the first Test

Ireland vs Wales: Six Nations preview

It was, by and large, a poor performance, particularly compared to Poite earlier in the day.
I don’t mind officious, but he made a lot of mistakes.
Telling a player the ball is out and then penalising them for picking it up is madness. He then quote a, correct, rule that you can’t jump on an emerging ball. The ball wasn’t emerging – it was out. As he said. There is a difference between emerging and emerged.
Never seen rugby players look so confused.

*a forearm- I have seen it called both on varying publications.

I agree it wasn’t an issue.

England vs Wales: The good, the bad and the ugly

I think the concerns raised before the tournament are the latter.

It is a reaction to the poor NH showing at the RWC, but I doubt anything will be done. Something to be said about upgrading and improving competitions as they continue, but as you said there is very little commercially wrong with the tournament, so I think it is just a reaction

How to improve the Six Nations

I don’t actually think it needs changing, though I do like the idea of including another nation to expand the game.

The papers in the UK, before the start of the tournament, were riddled with calls for an upgrade and how best to improve an already successful tournament, so I thought I’d explore the so-called options.

The above point about bonus points is very valid if they change the wins to 4! It could easily be re-worked, but they seem very against it at the moment.

Perhaps just the structure needs a re-vamp rather than the whole tournament.

How to improve the Six Nations

Tuilagi may feature on the bench to alleviate the danger posed by a physical Welsh midfield. Farrell and Joseph are fine defenders and sturdier than they look but will tire with the old ‘Warrenball’ effect bought on my Jamie Roberts, so it will be good to have him to come on instead.

As for Brown, if he hadn’t connected, accidentally, with Murray, then no one would notice. So many players go in to try and dislodge the ball and there is no rule against it. It was unfortunate that his heel connected with Murray on the rebound, but there was no illegality in his action- some recklessness perhaps, but recklessness isn’t a citing offence.

Tuilagi named to make English comeback

He plays on the edge of the rules (as all good 7’s do- Richie McCaw for example) but he’s got such a clever rugby brain that he can tell when it is necessary to run the risk of conceding, and when it is not.

If he does go North to study, he will be a great addition to any Premiership side!

VIDEO ANALYSIS: Why David Pocock is the best forward in Australia

They play in a SH competition so I’d say SH.

I’d love to see relegation in the Six Nations rather than a bonus point- this would add fear to Scotland and Italy and produce better performances at the tail end of the competition and allow teams like Georgia a taste of competition- make the ‘minnows’ games more exciting and stop the wooden spoon game being the same every year

North v South: Why is the gap so wide and will it ever close?

I did admit in the opening paragraph that is was more and excuse than a reason haha

The RWC was played in great conditions surprisingly for England in September… did this help the SH team thrive?

A stretch…

North v South: Why is the gap so wide and will it ever close?

I am from the Northern Hemisphere… And I love the Six Nations as it really can’t be matched for spectacle and excitement- I was merely offering an overview into why the SH is perceived to have a more flowing and entertaining style of rugby

North v South: Why is the gap so wide and will it ever close?

I think he said it when the squad was announced.

I have found the following quote from The Daily Telegraph: “Will it be an appointment for the long-term or just the Six Nations? “Probably just an appointment for the Six Nations, to start with.”

He may well change his mind though!

Six Nations: England on top but sterner tests to come

I believe that Jones has expressed his intention for Hartley to be the captain for the Six Nations only- it remains to be seen who he will pick for the tour Down Under..

Six Nations: England on top but sterner tests to come

He is already locked in on a four year contract and has said he will not stay beyond that as he is too old!

Jones warns his influence will take time
