Yeah.. I was waiting to listen to the after-the-game’s verbal diarrhoea from Stan’s commentators. But Stan switched it off. Spoilt sport.
Just because the game was played in NZ and the folks across the ditch found it hard to accept the result, perhaps Stan was told to knock it off.

Reds snap 25-year drought in Christchurch to beat Crusaders as Wilson, Ryan star

First time I see Reds play REAL rugby.

Reds coaches should imprint in their heads that REAL RUGBY is about fast open running game that put points on the scoreboard not the headbutting nonsense phases after phases… and more headbuttings, favoured by former Wallabies coach Cheika, which was the start of the downhill of Australian rugby.

Headbutting is to reset the backline for running attacking rugby. Backline should play deep if opponent’s defence moves forward too fast. It is the job of the 9 and 10 to adjust and dictate play, and not play like robots. Its basic 101 rugby in elementary rugby textbooks. That’s elementary rugby taught in 2nd grade.

Secondly, you don’t fall down with the ball VOLUNTARILY. You struggle and force the opponent tacklers to bring you down while you accelerate for more yardage.

Tom Wright is becoming a full player. His decision making with the ball has improved leaps and bounds. Good for the Wallabies.

It was a game of redemption.

Well played Brumbies. You did not disgrace Aus rugby the second time in a row.

That is only an assumption. Caps = Yelling. Really? Did it surcharge someone’s emotions by reading Caps.
Need to see a psychiatrist if reading caps can arouse disturbing emotions.

I got no issue with CAPS.

People with issues with CAPS have an emotional issue in themselves which they need to sort out with their psychiatrists.

All things equal, get a Wallabies coach who can jive with and work well with the new HP Director.
This talk about getting someone who is an Australian or an alien is a dumb distraction.
Cheika ? As the next Wallabies coach??
Take a pass… He had his chances before.
We need new blood, not recycled Wallabies coaches.
See what happened when RA parachuted a Wallabies recycled coach in Feb 2023?Australian rugby became an international laughing stock.

RA's new HP director 'totally open' to foreign coach as RA sets timeline, CEO reacts to player dismay over Eddie

New Chairman Daniel Herbert can start on a new slate.

He should know by now the expectations of Australian rugby supporters and fans, and not just the expectations of the corporate sponsors.

Australian rugby supporters want the RA Board to treat rugby as a competitive SPORT, not just as a business with the eye on the bottom dollar sign.

The first task for is to go learn in depth what is it the Springboks. ABs, the French and the Irish did right in the management of the code and distil that knowledge for Australian rugby. Why re invent the wheel?

ANALYSIS: McLennan's fatal blind spot, and why his exit leaves Australian rugby in a better place and a worse one

Fact: Talent under a self-important clueless coach is talent wasted…. and made worse if led by an incompetent bunch of chaps in suits sitting in the Board sipping champagne and the dollar bottom-line instead of looking at the deteriorating state of affairs in the rugby code.

Australian rugby’s problem is not lack of talent, it is finding a street-smart coach to mould the combination of talents we have into a credible unitary fighting force on the rugby field.

And of course, there must a political will to ban this “inbred mateship” nonsense that had been going on in the last 2-3 decades in recruiting members into the RA Board, appointing the Chairman and CEOs. Because of that, what Australian rugby had got in return so far were mediocre characters unfit to sit in the RA Board, whose only demonstrable personal attribute to show was they had played rugby or had a degree in finance or accounting.

The cleanout for Australian rugby must start start at the very top, not just looking at the coach and players levels.

'Talent to beat the All Blacks': Ex-Wallabies coach's bold call following 'hash of a year'

McLennan…said the decision to select Jones was not his alone but a board decision

There you have it.. from the horse’s mouth.

Why removing Hamish McLennan and not the clowns in the current RA Board is NOT
good enough to give Australian rugby a clean start.

The members of the RA Board also bear responsibility and they all must take accountability for the Wallabies fiasco at the RWC and resign from the RA Board.

Let’s see wheeher the 3-member panel of so-called “ EXPERT” have balls of steel to call for the removal of McLennan and the forced en-bloc resignation of the members of the current RA Board.

'Always knew it would get really ugly': RA chief's strange admission as World Cup budget blow out revealed

There is only priority task for this Expert panel to do, as the evidence of incompetence is so compelling: Remove Hamish McLennan.
Do’t forget it is Phil Waugh and the RA Board members who by stood by McLennan’s decision on Jan 2023 that things went south with Wallabies right after that.

The Wrap: What will the Wallabies' external season review reveal that we don’t already know?

The Wales v Barbarians game was a disappointment.

By convention, the Barbarians are supposed to play entertaining rugby. But Eddie Jones made the Barbarians play a scrappy game. The Wales gave a better performance.

The Barbarians were not supposed to play for the scoreboard, OK to lose and a bonus if it is a win, if we are given a performance that can be described as “ entertaining”. No it wasn’t at all.

The way the Barbarians played reminiscent of how the Wallabies played during the RWC, and the score line reflected that. The same losing style with Eddie Jone’s markings on it.

It is evident Eddie Jones as coach for the Barbarians still want to prove that possession rugby is dead. He is wrong again.

The Barbarians’ game became scrappy because it would appear Eddie Jones wanted to have a win n extremely badly after his disastrous performance with the Wallabies and he wanted to use this game if he gets a win to give the middle finger at his critics. Instead his middle finger pointed back at him. He lost.

And also this referee does not understand the spirit of this game. This yellow card for minor offences ( might be relevant in a Test game ) is way overboard. He should just call a penalty kick offence instead of a yellow card, unless it is dangerous play.

Wasn’t the referee being told before the game what the intent of this game is all about? It is for fans and supporters to watch entertaining rugby after the high tension games during RWC.

Eddie Jones as coach of the Barbarians and having this referee overseeing this game really spoilt the spirit of the game. One has a personal agenda and the other clueless.

Ex-Wallabies and high-performance expert named to review World Cup shocker

The first thing the three “ Experts” on High Performance should do as top priority is to call for the resignation or sacking of Hamish McLennan and the en-bloc resignation of the current Board. Would they do it? Of course not. You don’t do that to your good mates. Need balls of steel to even mention it.

The fiasco at the RWC should not be put on the players. That is barking at the wrong tree.

The RA is trying to shift the problem on the players NOT on themselves at the start.

THE TOP PRIORITY: Fix the inept performance of Hamish McLennan and the RA Board FIRST, before tackling the issues with the players. They should all go so that Australian rugby can start with a clean slate.

If not, the employment of these 3 “EXPERTS” is good money chasing after bad money.

Ex-Wallabies and high-performance expert named to review World Cup shocker

savant
Yes, you got a point there. We do not know whether Eddie under pressure to deliver in 9 months for 2023RWC will be the SAME Eddie who has 4 years to mold a team for 2027 RWC.
One lesson we learn: Eddie is the wrong coach under pressure to deliver.

'I'm not a quitter': Under-siege RA chair won't follow Jones, blames 'broken system' for chaos

He (Phil Waugh) accepted the board takes ultimate responsibility for the decision to bring Jones back this year which backfired spectacularly with the team not even making the World Cup quarter-finals in France.

Well and good. But what WE want to know is what is the RA Board going to do about it?

Continuing the status quo is untenable, given it was the Board’s decision ( no one else) in January 2023 which gave rise to the devastating consequences on firstly, Wallabies’s historic failure at RWC, and secondly, in the aftermath, resulting in a huge mess and a big hole in Australian rugby especially with the expected departure of Eddy Jones, who was parachuted in BY THE BOARD, with the simultaneous sacking of Dave Rennie.

The following is what Phil Waugh and the RA BOARD should do.

(1) Pass a vote of NO Confidence on Hamish
McLennan to force his resignation.

(2) Next Phil Waugh and members of the RA Board should then do the right thing in the best interest of Australian rugby: Board members should resign en-bloc as a show of collective responsibility for the fiasco … a fiasco of the Board’s own doing. The members can reapply if they choose to.

These Board members must show they have some integrity and self-pride by resigning en-bloc instead of mouthing excuses. The fact remains the disastrous outcome at the RWC was the consequence of the decision and action of Hamish McLennan and the RA Board. There is no other way to spin this.

'Completely unfair': Eddie sledge that angered Waugh, new coaching contenders emerge to rebuild Wallabies

There is no need for RA to apologise to Dave Rennie.

What is required is JUSTICE not apology for Dave Rennie for the horrible way RA treated him.

Justice for Dave Rennie is done if the RA Board passes a vote of No Confidence on Hamish McLennan and forces him to resign or give him the sack.

CONFIRMED: Eddie blames RA for early exit as Woodward calls for Rennie apology, ex-ABs coach linked to role

I support McKelllar as head coach.
He will bring on board a calming influence on the noisy turbulence engulfing Australian rugby right now.
He already kept a detailed record in between his ears on the strengths and weaknesses of the Wallabies squad.
But McLennan must go first, otherwise McKellar can’t do his job without the stubborn feeling McLennan and the current clowns in RA might pull the rug under McKellar from now until 2027.
After such an embarrassing fiasco at the 2023 RWC, Australian rugby needs new faces at the very top so that NEW ideas can be generated to move forward.
This is the best time to cut clean from the failed management system under the current clueless RA outfit and start fully afresh with new management and new faces in RA and in the coaching team, if Australia has any chance of surviving past the pool games or get into the quarter finals in 2027 RWC.

Exclusive: Path clear for McKellar to return as Wallabies coach despite Leicester job, Cheika's update on future

Mr. McLennan,
Yes it was a broken system. But YOU MADE IT WORSE in January 2023 by not allowimg Dave Rennie to finish his job with only 9 months to go into the RWC and much much worse, parachuting Eddie Jones who England considered a failure entering the RWC.
You refuse to take accountability for your decision that led to the historic disastrous outcome at the RWC, and to fall on your sword.
Shame on you for wanting to cling on your job.
Fact: Your continued presence at the helm of RA will be a constant distraction to the players and Australian rugby fans for the next 4 years.
Just go…. please.
Don’t tell me there is nobody in Australia who doesn’t have the experience and skills set to turn Australian rugby around from the current position at the bottom of the pit. Really?

'I'm not a quitter': Under-siege RA chair won't follow Jones, blames 'broken system' for chaos

One more to go.. Hamish McLennan.
He is the other party who should be held accountable for the disastrous fate of the Wallabies.

Remember: the fish rots from the head. If the rotting head is not removed quickly, the lower parts of the fish gets infected and will irreversibly destroy the whole fish.

With him to go, should also be the RA Board… its called collective accountability for the disaster.

Eddie Jones quits as Wallabies coach - 'Sometimes you have to eat s--t for others to eat caviar'

Blame the rugby rule book not the referee or the TMO.

THE GREATEST! Boks beat All Blacks in instant classic to claim record FOURTH RWC in controversial, dramatic final

Wayne Barnes did a great job as referee backed by a less controversial TMO.
Blaming the referee in THIS final is just dumb and is only made by a bad loser.
I see no bias in the refereeing of this final. Sam Cane’s red card and Kelisi’s standing yellow card are both made within the rule book.
In fact Wayne Barnes’s constant talking to both sides at breakdowns was to allow the game to flow on without him having to keep on blowing his whistle. That is good refereeing.
The fact ABs lost while playing with 14 men for 60 mins against a defending champion, and to lose by just one point, not forgetting that it was almost like a toss of a coin at the 79 min as who might be a winner, says a lot about the resilience and skills of the ABs.
As far as I am concerned. both sit on the same pedestal as the two best teams in the rugby world. There is little light between them.
The only difference for most part of the game was that Lady Luck was on the side of the Springboks.
It was NOT ABs’s night, but what a fight it gave to the Springboks. I doubt any other team could have done what ABs did with 14 men.
Both teams should be congratulated for making this RWC Final for more than its money’s worth.

THE GREATEST! Boks beat All Blacks in instant classic to claim record FOURTH RWC in controversial, dramatic final

What is the lesson from this final.
You want to win, you must find at least 3 players who is a clone with a pair of accurate boots of Handre Pollard .

If Waliabies don’t have someone who can’t put the ball between the posts, forget about winning World Cups.

We need to find clones of Michael Lynagh and Matt Burke.

England, a miss os as good as a mile.

In a 100 m race.if you lost by 0.1 sec to the touch line. you lost.

So much crowing of England’s awesome performancr did not change the outcome.

The long winded sulking in the British press is exasperating.

The short and crisp commentary should just be: “Better luck the next time England.” and leave it at that.
