Hi Paul
Any idea what the “preferential treatment” consisted of as alluded to by Sam Burgess? Oft quoted but never detailed.

Bumbling Bunnies board, players, executives and Demetriou all deserve share of blame game after coach's demise

It was a tense but satisfying win for the Brums. Thought they competed hard in all areas of the game except the scrum where they came off 2nd best. A bit of work needed there this week. Otherwise happy days for this Brums supporter.

Brumbies knock over Hurricanes in statement win as Wright shines again behind forward pack

I have never quite taken to Larkham as a head coach. In his first stint with the Brums it was all about possession but little yardage going side to side. Now it seems attack is sharper but with possession and defence currently there is no attack opportunities against top teams. I feel he is only as good as the assistants he has had and right now there is a lack of experience in his assiistants that Larkham himself cannot cover.

ANALYSIS: Single biggest issue causing Brumbies headaches - and why it can be traced back to Fisher's departure

I’d love to see Mitchell’s stat’s over last season and this. News Corp reported he ran 84 metres in 14 touches in his last match. If that is close to normal then he is nowhere near earning his keep as a fullback. How often is he relying on his wingers to bring the ball back. TBH I sometimes think he should wear the blue shirt the amount of time he spends wandering around behind his team mates. Just doesn’t put in the effort other FBs do and that his team needs and deserves.

Why his latest ban could be best thing for Latrell’s career - or the beginning of the end

Ah the karma. Having been the receiver of some acidic advice by the author regarding his article on EJ being one of ar too many it’s pleasing to see the same author getting a shellacking from Roarers about this article. Ah the karma.

COMMENT: In trading Greatest Showman for 'boring' and 'pragmatic' Sleepy Joe, RA gambling with game's future

Sound advice which I will follow without hesitation to ensure I’m more selective in what and who I read in future.

'Stinking nepotism', 'bygone era' or Japan's saviour? Why Eddie's mate has risked his rep on Wallaby turncoat

Another day another article on Jones. Pity we can’t seem to move on.

'Stinking nepotism', 'bygone era' or Japan's saviour? Why Eddie's mate has risked his rep on Wallaby turncoat

Perhaps we need to see how this appointment pans out before we start bagging it. High Performance Director is not a coaching position but an executive management position. What the role is will be evolved by the Board and CEO based on what RAs objectives are. A selection process has been undertaken and Horne is considered best. Horwill and Harrison not the best options and good to see a candidate who is experienced in the role not hoping for a start. I’m happy to see Horne given a go. But don’t expect to see him front and centre in the public eye.

RA set to sign World Rugby's HP director - and he could help land Joe Schmidt as Wallabies coach

Bye bye Marky Mark. I for one won’t miss you. We have plenty outside backs and you have been a one season wonder so far. If you enjoy catching a 6 tackle bomb or a 6 tackle pass and have no involvement for the previous 5 and enjoy being smashed on a return go right ahead and knock yourself out. I am becoming tired of criticism of Union that League is a better game. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy league too but the predictability and lack of possession contest makes it more akin to American Football. So go Marky Mark, enjoy league but don’t expect everyone to welcome you back if that’s your plan. I think others will have passed you bye by then.

Done deal: Wallabies star signs with NRL powerhouse in brutal reality check for RA at start of 'golden decade'

Could today be a McClennan-free day? No Australian article I’m aware of. Enjoying the silence.

Rugby News: RA hunting missing million after contract blunder, Suaalii worth 10x more than his deal, McKellar's big win

Bad publicity is good publicity apparently according to McClennan. Which is why the NRL and News Ltd are feasting on rugby right now. And McClennan just keeps it going which must be his idea of him acting for the good of the game. $50m? I suspect that figure pulled from part of his lower anatomy where many of his decisions have come from.

Rugby News: RA hunting missing million after contract blunder, Suaalii worth 10x more than his deal, McKellar's big win

You’ve really got to wonder exactly how RA is/was being run. Basic business operating procedures do not seem to be being applied. However at management level I suspect they are to then be ignored by the board or perhaps a domineering chairman. I never had the luxury of not presenting budget updates every step of the way. Basic financial management and accountability. But what we are seeing coming to light are the reasons why the so-called “rebel unions” support high performance alignment but no way supported RA running the business side of their unions. Would anyone put RA in charge of their business with their track record? Seriously?

Rugby News: RA hunting missing million after contract blunder, Suaalii worth 10x more than his deal, McKellar's big win

Waiting for The Australian to interview McClennan with news that it was all his doing and that the “boneheads” wouldn’t have managed it without his divine leadership. If he had any sense, humility not being in his character, he would Shut the F@#k Up! My money is on he won’t. The circus will go on.

Cash-strapped Rugby Australia sign $80m debt deal to help give game second life ahead of Lions, World Cups

To me the biggest takeaway from the article is the inference that coaches and high performance managers might have been put off the roles by McClennan being in the chairmanship. Without any difficulty I can easily see that his “management style” and the unceremonious sacking of Dave Rennie could have made any number of candidates go Australia coach? Nah!

How McLennan departure could help Wallabies land ex-Ireland, All Blacks coach as Eddie's replacement

Again and again McClennan shows his lack of class. Will each and every future turn of events be the result of McClennan no longer being chair? I think not. But I’ve a feeling we’re going to hear McClennans version played out in News Corp. Much as we had to listen to Alan, I’ve got the answer to everything wrong with Australian rugby, Jones. Please can we move on from the McLennan Jones E debacle of 2023.

'Shame on the plodders': Hamish blasts RA 'boneheads' as Harvey Norman deal ends - but founder denies link to axing

The article was a succinct summary of McClennans behaviour since being removed from the chairmanship. All of those involved have acted in a manner which is to be admired from the time of the unions letter to the removal of McClennan and to this day. Bar one who has shown himself to be petty and childish in all of his responses. McClennan has shown his true character, the one I have no doubt fellow board members and member unions had seen plenty of in the last three years. That he has been dismissed is the best outcome. Should the road ahead be rocky for Australian rugby so be it. Australian rugby will survive and will be better. And that without McClennans “leadership”.

COMMENT: 'Best interests of the game'? Hamish's dummy spit proves RA was right to cut him loose

I need a break from the Jones McClennan clown show. That’s the last article I’m reading on either of those two. Time for this chapter to be closed and no longer rake over the old coals. We could all try to look to the future with optimism and consign these two to the past.

Rugby News: 'I'd feel like a traitor' - Eddie says he'd reject prestige job, reveals surprise Japan 'stumbling block' as SBW goes WHACK

Paying $1.6m is beyond ridiculous. I have watched him play and yes he is a fine footballer. But he is being paid more than Nathan Cleary who is an exceptional footballer and who might be worth $1.6m to be a playmaker. Suaalii filling stadiuns, winning games etc etc. Spin after the event to justify a vanity project of McClennan.
PS Enough of Jones please. Let him ride off into the Japanese sunset. Sayonara Eddie. Don’t come back.

'Hold firm': RA urged not to blow Suaalii deal as Herbert shifts focus from NRL, Eddie rejects 'horse guy's PR'

The “rebel unions” issue a gracious release. McClennan still singing the same song. If he thought the “rebel unions” were going to hand over the farm based on a blank A4 sheet of paper he has been proven profoundly wrong. Until some considerable detail is provided I will remain deeply suspicious of what the outcome for rugby in all Australia will be and whom it may turn out to favour. Note the first two unions to jump on board the life-raft.

'They can't lean on me': Why McLennan bailed on the board as 'agitators' welcome 'honourable decision'

McLennan refusing to walk and trying his hardest to make it to do with anything other than his high-handed management style and singlehanded errors of judgement. 24 hours to get his PR guys involved and start the spin. Roll on the vote and let’s see what underhand tactics he’ll come up with next. Collaborative he is not.

Exclusive: Embattled chair asks for extension, Rugby Australia meet AGAIN as civil war breaks out

McLennan threatening to walk if vote goes against him. Does he think anyone wants him to stay? He is no doubt a talented businessman but has forgotten the the first rule of business which is to take the business on the journey with you. He seems to just want to dictate to a group that want to come on the journey not forced on the journey. I think that’s why he is no longer wanted. His way or the highway just doesn’t resonate with member unions. Kearns? Enough said on him. Dyed in the wool NS Welshman, Sydney public schoolboy, one eyed whose opinion is tainted by those he surrounds himself with., failed CEO candidate who got WC 2027 as a consolation prize. Discount anything he has to offer.

Exclusive: Embattled chair asks for extension, Rugby Australia meet AGAIN as civil war breaks out

I believe the Brumbies reintroduced ACT back into their name for the very reason of local identity.

It’s time to re-emphasise the ‘NSW’ in the NSW Waratahs

I imagine Larkham and McKellar would be thrilled at the opportunity to work alongside Cheika. Not ????

'Completely unfair': Eddie sledge that angered Waugh, new coaching contenders emerge to rebuild Wallabies

A bit of a rerun of the talk of the last few days with nothing new added. Except Suaalii gets a mention. Just what the Wallabies don’t need is an expensive outside back. Nice boy by all accounts struggling for form at the Roosters. Him gone big help to Roosters salary cap sombrero. McClennans vanity project two fingers to NRL and V’Landys. A waste of scarce cash. Ditto Crichton another vanity project that fell apart in the face of public criticism. Please go McClennan before you do any more damage.

'Completely unfair': Eddie sledge that angered Waugh, new coaching contenders emerge to rebuild Wallabies

Probably hated because his Brums beat them time and time again.

Exclusive: Path clear for McKellar to return as Wallabies coach despite Leicester job, Cheika's update on future
