I’d like to see Football Australia take the fight to AFL and NRL. Start signing their top juniors after all they are playing in a small pond when football is in an ocean of sharks. Socceroos and Matilda’s success are the way forward, but it has to come from a culture of excellence.

Isn’t the A league a devopment league with club sides and crowds, Sheffield shield is a competition of between states which I would of would mean bigger crowds but they have very few eyes watching them. As for the Matildas they are now setting the agenda for womens sport, even though AFL and NRL see them as interlopers, they will be around for a while yet.

Bellerive not fit for purpose, you are right it is to big, but then again so will the new stadium if it ever gets built. The new stadium and its position on the domain is just a power symbol for the AFL elite and their politicians to reasert that they reign over us all.

Millions going to Tasmania for another AFL stadium which will make it 3 under utilised colosseums. The number of half descent rectangular stadiums in the state zero, now that’s looks to me like they don’t want soccer football to grow, a damming indictment on the many kids and adults who love the game, I would call it discriminatory.

There is only one way for the Socceroo and the Matildas to get press coverage that is to win trophies. To be honest both the teams have had opportunities to do this but they have fallen short when they have had the best media coverage and the country behind them, this is now becoming regular occurrences. To most sport lovers in this country they are just not seen as the pinnacle in sport because of this, in short they are becoming teams that promise a lot and deliver little, it’s bit like ho hum we go again. I hope Miller has a long period of soul searching because his recklessness has now caused us to now question everything about the team when it could of been so different. Arnie deserves better than this from his players.

G money. And if they show promise where do think they’ll be directed. Whilst the FFA have done many good things I think talent identification and retention and youth development needs improving. Having our under age teams being beaten on a regular basis is not acceptable to the Australian sporting fan, it makes the code look sub standard. And is not a good portence for future Socceroos success.
