Giles for in the WAFL has been embarrassing. It’s a shame but at this stage he seems a placeholder. I suspect West Coast will pinch hit with McGovern in the Ruck as his intercept marking will be less important on the small Sydney ground.
West Coast face litmus test in Sydney
North was in my top four at the start of the year. Given their soft draw I find their strong start unremarkable. What I do find remarkable is how Scott has managed to cobble together talented but under performing players from other clubs and get them firing for the Shinboner’s. Waite is in career best form, so is Higgins.
The most glaring thing about North is their lack of an obvious weakness. There is no obvious superstar. Just a team of above average players.
I’m not convinced they have the depth to go all the way this year but I suspect they’ll be amongst the last four teams at the business end of the season.
North Melbourne top of the table? Guess what? No one cares!
You might have felt bulletproof…… But you were not – actually – bulletproof. There is no evidence which confirms that recreational drugs enhance performance in any way at all.
Zero tolerance of drug use would cause more trouble than it would prevent
Whilst I agree with the overall tenor of the article, I can’t help but wonder if the author hasn’t quite grasped why it is that these competitions have sprung up. In a nutshell it’s all about the marketing. The AFL couldn’t care less who gets the chocolates at the end of the season. Also I’d suggest the ‘dumbing down’ of the trading rules has had more of a balancing effect than any of the so called expert sites advising newbies on who to pick in their squads.
Taking the fan out of fantasy footy
That was a sensible measured response Paul. There are so few on this issue. So often comments on this issue are either people who are obviously racist. Alternatively they are holier than though do gooder’s who fail to accept that whilst much, probably most, of the booing of Goodes was racist, not all of it was.
It also saddens me to see the torrent of abuse Goode’s cops. In my view his ‘dance’ was totally inappropriate. If someone pulled out a cultural dance like that and directed it at the crowd playing soccer in Europe it would be career over for that guy. Plenty examples of that happening in the past. It’s simply not done.
Having said that though Goode’s was a man pushed to far and had to suffer oceans of unwarranted abuse. I mean seriously, if any of us had to put up with that would our behavior be as tolerant as Goode’s? I think not. Guys a champ. I’m proud he’s Australian.
Why Gillon’s Goodes apology leaves a bad taste in the mouth
Thunder win! Six down the ground seals it. Well done Thunder, commiserations to the Stars. At least the Stars won their first semi…..

One to go….. This could go anyway. McKay to bowl it….

McKay has been poor tonight. Zampa nails him over backward point. Vital runs. Anything over 180 will be tough to chase given the size of the MCG and the somewhat limited speed of the Thunder batting line up when running between the wickets.

Oh dear Booby Q….. Another very soft dismisal. The momentum has well and truly shifted here. Perhaps Zampa can middle a few, he’s got some serious power for a small unit.

OMG! KP gone in an incredibly soft dismissal. He will be fuming.Full credit though to Green who has taken some stick tonight and now has a double. With Dre Rus back on I’m not sure the Stars can finish strong here.

The problem with that analogy Milo is that Brooke Cotchin was not telling people ‘not to pick on him’. She was simply supporting him.
The very idea that any reasonable persons support of a reasonable position, regardless of gender, could somehow make someone look ‘weaker’ is absurd.
Those that would suggest that the public support of their partner make’s someone look weaker are often deeply insecure themselves. Others are simply envious of those who have people in their lives who are willing to publically back them.
The ‘real’ point here was made quite eloquently by the article.
