Agree WEST, Plumtree hasn’t brought much to the table and should be seen as part of the problem.

End of an aura: Critics target Foster and 'an empire that's gone soft' after All Blacks 'lose fear factor'

I’m taking a glass half full stance.

Unlike the loss in 2018 I enjoyed last weekend’s match, despite the result. Farrell has clearly taken his side to somewhere Schmidt couldn’t or wouldn’t. Even two years out Ireland has every right to be optomistic about France 2023 even though they’ll be quietly questioning if they can win it without Sexton or with him at 38.

The NH reached its nadir in 2015 RWC with no semifinalists and they’ve all raised the bar significantly since – and so they should.

For NZ it’ll be damage control in Paris and a whole new focus on the three match series in July 2022, that I’m picking 2-1 to the Irish eight months out.

The All Blacks' issues are neither tactics nor selection, it's a whole lot worse

Brutal thug – don’t think so. Six season as an All Black captain and rarely if ever sinbinned/sent off at first class level. A giant pest, probably A grade sledger and not above some filth but hardly a thug.

Sean 'Fitzy' Fitzpatrick: Baby Black to rugby icon

Fitzpatrick only had two seasons as a professional but has done well for himself in the UK. I suspect he’s had very good (post playing) career advice from Kevin Roberts, maybe John Hart so positioned himself well in the rugby pundit space. Managed to squeeze another $50k out of NZR as he was signing his initial All Black contract. Was a great leader more than a great captain but hugely respected in NZ, perhaps just below McCaw. Was surprised he didn’t nominate Olo Brown as one of his favourite All Blacks given the number of times they packed down for Akld, the Blues and the All Blacks.

Exactly right FB.

Where did all the Kiwi locks go?

Agree re Foster Pedro, it was a great result for him as he gets the points and learns a huge amount about his team. I wasn’t a Blackadder fan pre TRC but am now.

'Grand Slam opportunity': Foster calls on All Blacks to deliver perfect record

It sounds like poor business from the Broncos but easier to blame the player.

How Darius Boyd broke the Broncos

I think the UK media love Eddie because he always has plenty to say – makes their job way easier.

Eddie Jones still can't explain dismal England

For mine Hansen should probably have gone after the 2017 Lions Tour as 2018 & 2019 were messy at best. That aside I still can’t believe how poor England were in the RWC final after such a dominant semi final victory when a twelve point margin didn’t flatter them at all. Jones must take massive blame for that. He’ll no doubt remain hungry until he has a chance at redemption in 2023 but will the England players handle two and a half more years of his mind games?

Eddie Jones still can't explain dismal England

It’s fair to say there area number of locks, loose forwards and half backs in particular with plenty to play for in 2021 Super Rugby, though I’m not sure how plentiful the lock stocks are. Surely Foster will start with Akira Ioane at no.6 and Sotutu should get plenty of game time.

What ails the All Blacks? Marginal pack decline

Well played Argentina.

I’d expect Foster to be gone by this time next year. If Gatland’s available he should be signed immediately – provided he’s still in one piece after the Lions tour.

Razor has plenty of time on his side.

Pumas beat All Blacks for the first time

Agree Keg, Hannigan and neither of the Aussie locks/second rowers look test standard – Rory Arnold a big loss.

Australia seems to be living in another world when it comes to the All Blacks

Agree SP, northern hemisphere and SA don’t give away turnovers/counter attacking opportunities that Aussie did today. Whitelock & Retallick were probably our best ever locking combo, likely irreplaceable.

All Blacks produce second-half blitz to claim dominant Bledisloe 2 win

Great stuff BS, forty nine hours out and counting. I’ll be in Section 405, North Stand.

How the Bledisloe gave me back an old friend

Yep accept that Piney, my comment was based on the Reds scoring more tries and not kicking any goals.

Waratahs' experience counting for not very much at all

A massive contrast last week between a hungry Reds team who could/should have had a win on the Crusader’s home patch and the Waratahs who played like they didn’t want to be playing at all.

Waratahs' experience counting for not very much at all

Seven international coaches in the RWC era – seems about right IMO. Gatland’s another good example for mine, clearly a very capable coach but not sure he’s a great just yet, perhaps the Welsh would disagree.

'13 against 16': Eddie Jones blasts 'absolute rubbish' refereeing after late red card

I suggest you take a look at the replay and Tuilagi’s reaction – why would he apologise to North if he’d be hard done by?

'13 against 16': Eddie Jones blasts 'absolute rubbish' refereeing after late red card

England were no.1 in 2003 RWC, not NZ. Point is great coaches win finals and semi finals they don’t lose finals by twenty points.

'13 against 16': Eddie Jones blasts 'absolute rubbish' refereeing after late red card

For mine Eddie’s lost two RWC finals so isn’t a great coach yet.

'13 against 16': Eddie Jones blasts 'absolute rubbish' refereeing after late red card

I enjoy Eddie most of the time but his assertion re 13 v 16 is disgraceful and should be censured – or was he adding a sideshow to Marler’s grab at AWJ’s genitalia?

Note Tuilaga’s response to the sending off and apology to North – knew he’d messed up and acted accordingly.

'13 against 16': Eddie Jones blasts 'absolute rubbish' refereeing after late red card

Andy Dalton was captain in ’81, Frank Oliver locked the scrum in the 2nd test only.

Who are the greatest All Blacks since 1970?

A great team sheek, backs especially. The Wallaby 9-15 in the RWC final in ’99 one of the best ever for mine, Horan the star and Roff the most underrated imo.

Who are the greatest All Blacks since 1970?

Mourie wasn’t available to play the ’81 Springboks and retired at the end of the ’82 season. Kirwan and Kirk elected not to tour with the Cavaliers in ’86.

Who are the greatest All Blacks since 1970?

From what I’ve read and seen Sid was doing us a favour – there were some very ordinary All Blacks backs in the early ’70s especially.
