I’m not sold on this conference format, it’s blatantly obvious certain conferences are going to be much more competitive than others.

Unbeata-Bulls are creating a new Super dynasty

Your a flogging a dead goose here Hoy and actually did anyone even know there was a final on outside of SA, it has failed to generate much publicity here in Australia outside of the roar and from what I can see online not much has been said across the Tasman either.

You are right in what you say but unfortunately Temba can only see it his way. Many people have thoughts similar to yours and the point you raise that had results gone certain ways is correct yes the Stormers could’ve missed out on the finals all together had the lost without a bonus point.

The season is done and dusted I’m more interested in the Wallabies now couldn’t give two hoots about the Bulls to be honest. So what they’ve equaled Aucklands tally of titles. I think this talk of a dynasty is a little premature. Come back and talk about that when they have won 7 titles and featured in 12 finals series like the Crusaders then and only then will I believe this dynasty hype.

The Blues also beat the Bulls and they were run closest at home by The Tahs, Crusaders and Hurricanes.

What people are forgetting is that the majority of the Springboks are combined within these two SA teams so it’s no big surprise that they are doing so well.

Can’t we make him an Aussie like we did Hayne,
The eligibility rules in League are a farce anyway why not exploit it some more

Blues keep picking best players, not best team

Not surprising at all that it the same three posters are having a go at New Zealand rugby once again,

To be honest I’m more than happy the Kiwis are having selection issues we finally may get a chance to beat them. Lets get real here the New Zealanders at their best are bloody hard to beat just ask France who were on the wrong end of the All Black machine at it’s best last year.

Henry admits All Blacks have no back-up for Nonu yet

What an insecure comment to make.
Who are you to question my nationality?
I guess because I don’t blow our own trumpet from the rooftops and only see things through my yellow and gold glasses I’m not Australian enough for you Betty B.

Unlike many here I try to see things for what they are not for what we wish them to be.

It’s called having an unbiased opinion.

You should try it sometime

Socceroos have a way to go still - on and off the field

We still had a solid line up that was well and truly put to the test by a very good New Zealand side.
Start giving credit where credit is due. We were not able to play because the Kiwis wouldn’t let us.

We are not a great team and it will be along time before we will be if ever,

I’m tired of hearing how great we are when in fact we aren’t.

How about show some humility and applaud a team who were much better than any of us thought. Especially when you take into account the majority of their team had not played a game for 2-3 months.

Don’t even get me started on the dirty tactis of Cahill and Grella

Socceroos have a way to go still - on and off the field

New Zealand are not ranked in the hundreds are they?
I thought they were in the late 70’s to early 80’s

Just goes to show rankings don’t mean sweet stuff all

Socceroos have a way to go still - on and off the field

I’ll have to strongly disagree,
Do rememeber the lads across the ditch very rarely get to play together.
I look forward with anticipation on how much they can improve.

Everyone is capable of improvement

Socceroos have a way to go still - on and off the field

Yes it is limited but what does that say about ours AndyRoo?
The Kiwis are also saying that they should have played much better.

Socceroos have a way to go still - on and off the field

Yes exactly Whiskymac pretty much what I have been alluding to.
The Kiwis are very well coached and organized and give credit where it’s due they are a good team who definitely not as bad as many people would like us to believe they are.

Socceroos have a way to go still - on and off the field

What bugs me the most is how highly we rate ourselves in the soccer world. While we’re good we are far from great.
Give the Kiwis credit they played very well in the first 45 especially, a team made up of mostly A-League stars kept a team full of European club players honest and on their toes.
I find it astounding how hardly any credit is given to the kiwis, we played bad because they put pressure on us. We didn’t put them away because we simply do not have the fire power to do so.
Everyone expected this to be a walk in the park and a total thrashing, but oh how wrong many of us were. Here we are thinking we are the great almighty and can only put away a team ranked 50+ places below us from Oceania by one goal. Seems the Kiwis would and can put up more resistance than most asian teams and they did it against a team playing dirty with players who should have been red carded.
If anyone can hold their heads high it is the New Zealanders and their brave and gutsy performance in front of a hostile crowd an aggressive team.

Australia – we simply aren’t as good as we like to think we are.
New Zealand – teams will underestimate you at their own peril

Socceroos have a way to go still - on and off the field

Says a lot about a team when your own coah publicly berates you for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Like he says had it been a world cup they would have been red carded. We were very lucky to win last night.

I did make one oobservation before the game especially on the whole buddy thing Pim and Herbet were showing prior to the match. It was hardly two coaches who were desperate for a win at all, more like two mates out for a training run.

This in turn I feel went into the match and the cynic in me can not help but think that Herbet and Pim had a word to their teams and before kick off. If you go back and watch the first 45 then 2nd you will see one big noticeable difference.

1st 45 Socceroos played a very defensive orientated game whilst the Kiwis pushed hard up front and it worked a treat creating a few oppurtunities.

2nd 45Kiwis palyed a very defensive game whilst we played an attack game. Maybe it was the way the game went, but I can’t help but feel Pim and Herbert came to an agreement so each side could test out their defense and attack. Not saying the score was set but I think it showed the Kiwis need to improve defensively as do we.

Socceroos have a way to go still - on and off the field

Seriously AA get the hell over yourself. You are nothing but a provocative poster who is looking for a fight.
The Kiwis also took off some of their top players in the 2nd 45 not to mention they lost one player due to the appalling tackle by Grella followed by a 50/50 tackle by Cahill yes even the Australian commentators were going on about the nature of the tackle by Tim.
The Kiwis weren’t a pushover and it was quite clear they also were saving things for later (World Cup) but somehow that doesn’t fit your argument.

All Whites show Socceroos up for style

Do explain how we put them back in their place?
Beating them by one point is hardly an ass whipping and it wasn’t until the dying seconds that the goal was scored.
The Kiwis did embarrass us in parts especially the first 45 even though they lost.
We were expected to win this match easily and we only just scrapped through.
The Kiwis were more than worthwhile opponents and once again have shown the world Australian football is nowhere near as good as we like to think it is.

Socceroos have a way to go still - on and off the field

On that I would also say Auckland are one of the greats too. As it stands they are ahead of the Bulls in titles won so far and have also achieved back to back titles

Oh dear, the Waratahs fire blank shots

The Chiefs and Force both had huge injury tolls also but you don’t see them using it as an excuse for their seasons do you

Oh dear, the Waratahs fire blank shots

I love this tactic bringing up who they beat.

How about looking at who they lost to as well.

Sharks, Blues, Brumbies, Hurricanes all below them on the table. Also don’t forget they played all 3 at home, funnily enough the Tahs and the 7th placed Blues who hammered the Bulls in much more convincing fashion beat the Reds at home.

The Tahs deserved their spot, so what they didn’t do with it what many are speculating the Reds would’ve done.

Sadly for the Reds they didn’t earn a spot to waste like the Tahs so may as well shut up and move on to next year

Oh dear, the Waratahs fire blank shots

Pretty good crowd considering many here at the roar were adamant that they would struggle to get 20k to the game.
Also nice to see that Pim, Harry Kewell and Tim Cahill also think a annual TT clash is well worth persuing.

So NZ may not be on the same level as we like to think we are but at least they are competitive and would put up much stronger opposition than many of the Asian nations as it stands they have proved they are better than the fifth best Asian team

Socceroos v All Whites: Live analysis

It doesn’t matter where you finish if your not in the finals and then win the competition.

No one remembers who got 5th

Waratahs easily sent packing from Super semi

Reds lost to Hurricanes, Brumbies (got thumped by both teams) Sharks, and lost at home to both The Tahs and the Blues

Kind of cancel out their other wins really doesn’t it

Waratahs easily sent packing from Super semi

Pretty hard not to hype up a team who has won the title 7 times and featured in 12 of 15 finals series.
The Bulls have a long way to go before they can lay claim to having a dynasty such as the New Zealanders.

If the Bulls win this year they will only equal the Auckland Blues in titles won

Bulls reach Super final

Great win by the Bulls thankfully for them the rest didn’t bite them in the butt. Now if they had played the Stormers they would certainly have gone down in a heap. The Stormers are on fire and are fantastic to watch.

When looking at this game though one has to rememebr the Crusaders had flown back to New Zealand for a game against the Brumbies and then back again to South Africa. Clocking up some serious air miles and crossing numerous time zones.
The travel undoubtedly took it’s toll as is expected, i’m not saying they would’ve won but to deny that it didn’t contribute to their performace overall would be total ignorance

Bulls reach Super final

Could you see the NRL releasing a further 36 players (sorry not sure on squad sizes) from the competition to allow a NZ series though M1tch?
It’s highly unlikely and the clubs would be up in arms.

yes the NZRL is useless but they are up against it
