Tarneit? Yeah nah.
May gain many new supporters from the local area but also going to lose a lot. Hour travel time from Melb central by car or train.
Also can’t see their corporate supporters and sponsors be thrilled about it.

PE backed consortium 'in final stages' to save Melbourne Rebels with $30m injection and link with A-League club

Sooo Thorn decided for all the other games the Reds lost he couldn’t be bothered to bring out a coaching masterclass???

ANALYSIS: The tactical masterclass that saw Thorn flip the script - and showed how teams can stop Chiefs

‘Who have we got right now, who has a demonstrated skill-set, demonstrates seasoned rugby nous, is fearless and hungry, and has the physical assets (real speed, good hands, enough mass to take and give a hit in defense, etc), that might be worth looking at as a flyhalf?’
Carter Gordon

Why Eddie Jones should pull a Larkham redux and try a left field choice at No.10

“He’s the epitome of a great rugby person,” McLennan said.

Only played school boys, turns his back on the game due to the lure of $$$, and now lured back by more $$$. And somehow he’s a great rugby person.

What a joke.

'Back home': 19-year-old 'freak' NRL star signs multimillion deal with Rugby Australia

Excellent.

Scorched earth Wallabies! EVERY one of Rennie's coaches now GONE in Eddie revolution

Yep…..players like any human being can change over time. Therefore any coach with a bit of introspection would have wondered if the view he had of a player he played against and now coaches is actually accurate.
Thorn could have found that out about QC-“ let’s spend the weekend together mate, have a few beers, get to know the current Quade. If I still think you’re a dickhead after I get to know you then you’re out. If not then let’s crack on.” That would be the mature approach.

Exclusive: 'There needed to be change' - Thorn on turning Reds around, why drugs battles were personal, and his future

He might be a nice bloke but he’s not a great coach. He’s taken the Reds as far he can and they went backwards last year.

His handling of QC was pretty immature and shortsighted.

Pivac and Rennie from the same school of coaching?

Rugby News: RA reacts to 'alarming' Wallabies crisis, Wales coach 'out of depth', where ABs 'have fallen away'

He lost me at “triple threat” Paisami. ????

Bring back Beale: Tahs veteran the key to fixing Wallabies' astounding lack of attacking variety

McReight was never going to be in the squad, so if that’s who DR is referring to its demonstrating he doesn’t mean what he says.

Wallabies aim to 'make a statement', fix 'dumb arse penalties' as pressure mounts on 'true pro' Rennie

Who was the one dropped for a dumb arse penalty?

Obviously not Gordon , Robertson or Neville.

Wallabies aim to 'make a statement', fix 'dumb arse penalties' as pressure mounts on 'true pro' Rennie

WTF is AAA proud of??? The captain is proud of losing to the 14th ranked team. His response should be I’m sorry, our performance was unacceptable.

Note to team management- never to captain Aust again.

No s--t, Mortlock! Wallabies great blasts 'train wreck,' says team has 'no chance' of RWC win, discipline issues 'systemic'

“I thought our lineout was excellent “.
That perfectly sums it up for me. Rennie’s idea of excellence is in reality barely average.

Same issues week in week out- discipline, turnovers, breakdown, poor lineout, poor outside defence, poor general play kicking, lack of penetration in attack, inconsistency. He identifies it each week but can’t fix it regardless of who he picks.

So if regardless of who he picks the same issues are presenting then maybe he needs to bar up and take responsibility for his shit coaching.

Ex-Wallaby reveals northern hemisphere tactic Aussies can't handle, Rennie says loss 'hurts everyone'

Foley has to go. He’s holding the team back. NL is no worse.

Also Wright, he was terrible.

REACTION: 'Somehow!' - Wallabies reprieved at the death to open tour with nail biting win over Scotland

Jeez Simmons ????????????

LSL and Adam Coleman are more like what we need.

'Spend them all on locks': Giteau Law bolters Dave Rennie should pick to fix Wallabies' biggest weakness

Suspensions should be in games not weeks, at the level the offence occurred and also cannot play at any other level during this time. For Swain in this instance would be 6 test matches.

'System is broken': Darcy Swain's ban is far too light, SANZAAR's judiciary process is failing the game

Nicely written but you’re cherry picking to support your argument.

If your article was consistent and balanced, just like we all want the ref to be, then you would have looked at the entire match for the ref cracking down on time wasting, instead of the last 3mins and one other example at 36mins.

He’s a few to consider from the first half (I’ve yet to watch the second half replay).
– first lineout of the game (1st min) ABs take 39secs to throw it in even though all forwards are at the mark pretty much immediately.
– ABs receive penalty from that lineout, 20secs to take the kick from touch after ref marks the spot.
– Conversion of first try 100secs
– First penalty attempt by Barrett 75secs
– Wallabies restart from the missed attempt in 25secs (includes time to get another ball as kick went into the crowd) ref gives Foley hurry up after 20secs.
– ABs second penalty attempt (successful) takes 85secs. Wallabies restart in 35sec.
– Wallabies penalty goal in 100secs. ABs restart in 36secs.
– ABs take 28secs to restart goal line drop kick.
– Wallabies take 35secs to kick for touch after a penalty. Another penalty 20secs to kick.
– Foley kicks conversion in 54secs. ABs restart in 25secs.
– Wallabies take 25secs to kick for touch after a penalty, another 30secs to take the throw.
– ABs penalty, 30secs to kick.
– Wallabies take 30secs goal line drop out. Ref gives hurry after 15secs.

So from those examples for both sides there’s no consistency or standard set by the ref. The only times he’s a given a hurry up is to Foley but in the same circumstance the ABs have taken very similar time but the ref has said nothing. There’s 4 times where the ref can make a decision backed by a time limit in the laws (conversions and penalty goals) and he chose not to.

In the first half the ref has demonstrated no consistent intention to crack down on time wasting and therefore has set the tone on this aspect of the game.

By then cracking down on only one instance he’s shown inconsistency on applying the rules. And isn’t that the main complaint about refereeing? No consistency within the game and from game to game.

Looking forward to watching Raynal’s next game.

Case for the prosecution: Why Wallabies' ref lament is wrong and just a smokescreen for bigger issues

So the way I see Campbell getting a game is that Hodge, Wright, Petia and Kellaway all get injured.

This is who Rennie has used at FB this year- Banks, Kellaway, Petia, Wright, Hodge and JOC.

Campbell is obviously not enough of a “good man” for Rennie to play a specialist FB.

'Need more out of him': Everything Dave Rennie said about fading star, ex-AB's Wallaby claim, back three decisions

Exactly and that’s why he’s struggling at international level. DR is asking a lot of him to implement a game plan if he’s not doing it for the Brumbies. And McKellar pretty much confirmed it today- just do the basics, in other words stay in your lane and only do what we tell you to.

ANALYSIS: 'Asking too much' - brutal truth behind James O'Connor's axing, and why Wallabies defence coach had to go

Yep in those clips couple of rucks he’s not required but also he’s second man in securing the ball. Others he’s back in the pocket ready to receive but NW ignores him with a forward runner.

ANALYSIS: 'Asking too much' - brutal truth behind James O'Connor's axing, and why Wallabies defence coach had to go

I think part of the reason NL is having trouble developing as an all round 10 is because NW runs the show at the Brumbies. I’d like to see NL and McD have a crack together.

ANALYSIS: 'Asking too much' - brutal truth behind James O'Connor's axing, and why Wallabies defence coach had to go

Yep , ever seen QC in a ruck ???

ANALYSIS: 'Asking too much' - brutal truth behind James O'Connor's axing, and why Wallabies defence coach had to go

Harsh but looking from the outside could be fair.

I think you’ve discounted two things.

Nic White runs the show and the game plan revolves around him whether at the Brumbies or Wallabies. He’s making the decisions and picking out first receiver. Matt Toomua made comments about this at HT and noted how JOC can’t get into the game because of NW’s decisions.

JOC plays very differently with MCDermott at the Reds. JOC is firmly in control. Maybe JOC is uncomfortable playing with a 9 like NW.

Joel who??

And yes a shot at a Comms Game medal is more important than the Rugby Championship.

Rugby News: Stewart shocker - Reds ace leaving but NOT for the Rebels, Holloway to debut for Wallabies, Porecki OUT

We’ve never been short of quality backrowers and unfortunately some just miss out on a long test career- McMahon and Gill as an example.

And another one that I think would have been a good 7 at test level is Colby Faainga that I see is now in the Wallabies camp.

Are the Wallabies on the road to their back-row nirvana?
