I heard the bookies were even taking bets he would cry again 😂

What a turn around from last week, what a result 🏉

'No one backed us': $8 outsiders Waratahs upset Crusaders AGAIN as Edmed steps up to deliver famous win

Hehe I said it before and I’ll say it again:
Beam us up Schmitty 😊
Also Schooner + middy = Schmiddy? 👍
Sounds good anyway

Schmidt's dossier: Coach details plans and timing on selections and assistants as new Wallaby era launches

Hmm so Lyndsey kept quiet for 7 years but now spills the beans on the same day as the Super Round match between the Melbourne Rebels and the Western Force, in Melbourne too 😊
After both teams had big losses last week.
Also on the eve (apparently) of the Rebels twilight season with so much doubt and uncertainty hanging over the team and players. Where did that $20M go?

You could not script this match up better. Seriously you could not make this stuff up. I’m riveted.

Sorry if I sound facetious but this is now shaping up to be an instant classic. A grudge match to end all grudges where initially there was no grudge. Maybe misdirected grudge?

Go teams, play your hearts out, don’t leave the fans wondering. Next season you might be each other’s team mates, ironically.

Sounds like the old bait and switch.

COMMENT: This is the real reason why the Force were cut in 2017

I did like Crons message about fixing the stupid little mistakes from last week’s game and bouncing right back with this one! Trouble is the Rebels are basically saying the same thing lol. This could actually be a bit of a cracker 🏉

'There is noise': Rebels get psychologist's help as they try to prevent Super Rugby spiral

Yes, like a slow motion accident unfolding where we don’t like what we’re seeing but can’t look away either.
I’ll be trying to keep my blood pressure from spiking during this one 👍

Thank you, that makes sense

Also, I don’t know where to ask this, but thought in a recent Melbourne related article best…
Did anyone else hear that the 2nd Lions test against the Wallabies, in Melbourne, will be at the Melbourne Cricket Ground? I thought it was going to be at AAMI Park.
Not sure now if AAMI Park had always been confirmed or if it has been changed to the MCG for any particular reason.
I’ve seen it stated online and on travel sites that AAMI Park is hosting it but today I received an email from Rugby Explorer saying very clearly it’s at the MCG. Confusing but maybe it was changed just recently?
It also said the Rebels match against the Lions will be at Marvel Stadium. Should we take that as a good sign the Rebels will still be with us in 2025 or with a grain of salt? Make that a truck load of salt?
Addition: someone just told me they think a website got their wires crossed maybe between the Wales v Wallabies match this year and the Lions v Wallabies match in 2025 about the venues.
Still interesting about the Rebels though.

Looking forward to the Rebels v Force match. Not only for how Carter goes but how both teams handle the pressure.

I heard the Force captain Jeremy Williams will be playing with Feleti Kaitu’u and Ryan Coxon added too. Should help the Force.

Should also be an interesting match. It’s a tough pick, I feel sorry for the Rebels players but want both teams to do well.

Yep he was confused but I think we understood his gist

Horan's 'soft' whack for Rebels pack as Fisher calls out their 'absolutely criminal' flaw in Brumbies loss

Some people call the end zone area to the 22m line, zone 1. I guess he calls it zone A or A-zone, maybe also Attacking zone.
Not, it would seem, in contrast to the very specific A-zone or A$$hole zone rugby fans were shown last year by RA or even the infamous T-Zone or Twilight Zone currently hanging over the poor Rebels.
The scoring part, yeah wouldn’t happen the other way around by the Brumbies. Fixed now.

Hmm realistically, not sure. There comes a point when it probably wouldn’t increase anymore. That’s kind of the point I was alluding to. It can’t keep going up exponentially.

What it does show, generally speaking, Super Rugby is being run like a business.

Only like a business? Not sure. I however as a fan wanted more than that.

'Ready to go': Jaguares set for early return to Super Rugby if Rebels fall over

Thanks Ben, enjoyed reading this!
So many valid points and laughs. Especially agree with the coffee one, reminds me of tradies too they can’t seem to do much without a cuppa or council workers and their smokos 😊

Btw I’d enjoy watching team mascots beat each other up as well 👍

Legalising foul play, laneway bars and Molly Meldrum: Ten ways we can conquer Melbourne for rugby

Hmm so bringing the Jaguares back before 2026 means they can be used to renegotiate the broadcast deal to get us back on par with what they think they would of got if the Rebels were still there? (12 teams)
However, originally the Jaguares could of been used to get an even better broadcast deal if the Rebels are still there? (13 teams)

So a carrot for the broadcast deal, yeah we lost the Rebels but hey guess what we got another team from another country (Argentina) and that means we get access to all those viewers over there too.
Something just doesn’t seem right when broken down like this.

'Ready to go': Jaguares set for early return to Super Rugby if Rebels fall over

What I find odd here is they are only considering bringing the Jaguares back early ‘if’ the Rebels cease. Why is one dependant on the other?

If the Jaguares really were rejoining in ’26 then I guess bringing them forwards is not such a big deal. However I see that as a completely separate issue to what is happening with the Rebels. Filling a gap left by a team being dropped is quite different to ‘replacing’ them. If the Rebels do stay, the Jaguares were being added to the comp anyway, apparently.

I felt a bit sad when the Jaguares were cut from the comp, especially after they made it to a Grand Final. Felt awkward for the Japanese Sunwolves too being dropped.

There was an article somewhere last year that said there were a number of places interested and tendered to join the Super Rugby competition. Including the USA, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore. What possible other surprises are in store for Supers future? Does that future help Australia performance wise and economically in the Super Rugby?

I heard the Warringah Rats did well against the Waratahs in their trial match maybe they could fill in against the Lions 😁

Yes it should be! In the final round too. Can’t wait to see how it goes

Six Nations: 'Can't believe it' - Scotland break 128-year drought with win over England, Irish streak away from Wales

Well done Scotland, great result! Hat-trick of tries to Van der Merwe and the Calcutta Cup stays with the Scots four years running 🏉

Ireland looking very good for another six nations title too.

Loved his leg drive taking on two defenders! Shame he couldn’t get through but it worked out with White scoring.

Hurricanes pump Western Force as Achilles heel exposed again in early reality check

I agree actually. I think if a few small things had gone their way and if a few changes were made the Force would have looked a lot better on the scoreboard. I believe Cron when he said he’s not that worried, a few tweaks or tightening up on errors etc and they’ll improve as they go. They showed promise with the trial matches and did have flashes last night. It’s early days and I’m mostly a positive guy so 😁

Very frustrating to watch and yeah sure it was disappointing at times.

I could sit here and give reasons why, like losing players with injuries this week, the set pieces were poor and struggled, discipline cost the boys plenty etc etc, but…

Beyond all that I can’t understand why, when the pressure was on and even more importantly when it wasn’t, some players just made the dumbest decisions they could. It’s like there was a choice to be made and they resorted to the low percentage high risk option that was never going to work out. No need for it. Coach killer stuff.

Anyway there were a few good moments for the Force, glad they got a couple of tries, could of had more, maybe. Least they kept trying to the end. A few changes and/or switches coming up. Next week they’ll be better.

Thanks for this! A very interesting twist indeed 👍

Exclusive: Rugby Australia makes sweeping redundancies as governing body braces for 'economic headwinds'

Whilst I’m glad cost cutting measures are finally in place at RA, this bit has me intrigued:
‘Meanwhile, the Melbourne Rebels have been given 60 days to determine who is liable for their debt.’

Who will they blame? Anyone remember playing Cluedo? Hmm classic whodunnit coming up me thinks
