I’ve been saying it for last 3 years, but I do think this is Englands best chance at winning a major tournament, they were competitive up until the 60th min in the 2009 4 nations which was also in England, so playing at home will help. Tomkins, Chase are the big keys, I fear for Sinfield at 6, I think England need a more attacking option with Chase.
Four Nations 2011 preview: England
At what expense would he want a global brand? He cant be a league player playing union, perhaps at super rugby level he could have the flare but at internationals he would be bound to what a union player maker back is, someone who kicks the ball 70%, short pass 25% and run 5%. I dont mean to be a code war starter but thats how he would end up, yes people in London would know him and he would make a news story in Argentina and winning a world cup would make CNN world news but I seriously doubt he would be 100% happy at the player he would be.
Why Benji should be snapped up by rugby
Jason Robinson is the best cross coder of the last 10-15 years, but been many stinkers too
Why Benji should be snapped up by rugby
yes Rugby sign up some Rugby League players that hasnt been done before and has never failed.
Why Benji should be snapped up by rugby
I havent seen one tv ad for the GC United and the a-league kicks off in 2 days.
Gold Coast United on the move for the good of the game
I saw a great fox sports news bit last night on the CQ Bid with a under 13’s team wearing the proposed jersey logo etc. The Toyota Cup should be a national competition with all prospecting NRL teams submitting their team through the NYC. For 2013 we could have 20-22 teams in the youth comp and ready made local players on areas like perth, png, bris..where ever the game expands too and a already known team in the area.
The NRL should be creative with expansion
Division 2 clubs wouldnt last a season in Australia, no crowds no sponsors.
Lets get out of thinking promotion/relegation is the key to having more teams.
The NRL should be creative with expansion
The AFL hits markets 2,4,5 while the NRL hits 1 and 3. The NFL is the sport of the USA and Superbowl rates on average 4 hr broadcast about 85-100 mil with the record being 106mil. Even thats only 1.3 of the USA watching the superbowl.
The AFL and NRL grand final ratings game
The annual opener is Roosters v Souths which will be on friday night probably at the SFS. If they do I’d say it would be Penrith v Parra. It would be tough for a genine west sydney blockbuster to be on a Sat night.
Brace yourself for more war games between AFL and NRL
Build a bridge and get over it, the Warriors have made it and they can win it.
Warriors have no right to be in the Grand Final
I think its the worst time to play the game, the media will be mostly NRL and this game will be lost a bit..should have been around rounds 5-6 when it would generate more media.
Brace yourself for more war games between AFL and NRL
It shows how professional Ivan is, the decision was made and then 110% of his attention was to take the Warriors as far as he could. The system for players and coaches signing isnt perfect but it doesn’t destroy clubs as some think.
How 2011 ruined a great rugby league theory
I thought the Ravens win over Steelers was a huge statement and a mjaor confidence builder for them, they have been up there last few seasons but fall at the Steeler hurdle, 35-7 is a big win for them in every way.
NFL week one: Five surprises
“After much debate, I think the following teams will be in the running: Dragons, Tigers, Bulldogs, Roosters, Souths, Storm, Broncos, Titans, Warriors and Raiders. Honorable mentions go to the Knights, Cowboys and Panthers.
Sorry Sharks, Eels and Eagles fans, I’m really struggling to see your teams doing much this season.
As for some other predictions, Benji Marshall will not only to be the face of the NRL but he holding up the trophy on grand final night as the Clive Churchill medalist, while Ricky Stuart will lead the Blues to a famous hard-fought Origin series win.”
I had Eagles missing the 8 and they are 1 win away from the Grand Final, Ricky nearly pulled it off, and Benji is my bet for Clive on grand final night.
Gazing into the NRL finals crystal ball
Great point, would have been a great promotion as well in Sydney for it
NRL's home final policy backfires
There is no hard and fast rule, because lets be honest we cant trust the fans to turn up, but at the same time we should expect more than 18k at a suburban ground for a finals match. A judgement call should be made when teams are finalized, as Eagles v Cowboy should have been at Brookie, where as Eagles v Souths should be at SFS. Weeks 2 and 3 crowds turn up better, remember Eels v Titans at the SFS..28k turned up.
NRL's home final policy backfires
Why are people surprised, when 9 announced they had signed the RWC I knew this would happen, they signed it so nobody else could have it then screw the fans for FTA coverage of the world cup. I dont know how presenters of 9 say ‘home of sport’ ‘best coverage’ and not laugh, they are a disgrace and dont respect any sport they broadcast
Channel Nine set to disappoint Wallabies fans
If you win you are safe, if you don’t then you should be nervous for a few days, i tend to think it adds more excitment to games and makes every game worth watching and every game has more meaning. If we had the AFL system I’d be happy with that as well, but I like the system we have, only thing I would change is the 2 highest rank losers get a home final in week 2..thats all I would change
Preview of the first week of the NRL finals
The Ravens must step up this season, Flacco has had 2 goes at it now and needs to take his team to the next level. If Stafford can stay healthy the Lions can do something, but a 6-10 will probably be considered not too bad for them. I am interested to see how the Jets go, talked themselves up last year and got done early.
Patriots have the rosters to do it and I hope they can.
Previewing the 2011 NFL season
Every clubs gets a live friday night, with the rest reserved for genuine blockbuster matches – easy solution, but with the 2 friday games expect nothing to change
NRL needs balance in draw, television deal
Before I read this I though anyone could win it, now I don’t think any of them can win it 🙂
Why your team won't win the Premiership
so is fox sports, there is definetly no lack of promotion for the RWC
AFL and NRL finals show different geographical spread
Parra v Penrith is a geographical derby but it isn’t the biggest derby in western sydney, that is a well known fact.
NRL won't give AFL a free-kick in western Sydney
