Agree. I am prepared to give some of 10s shows ago, and even just have the news on in the belief there could be, not must be, some football content. I only want our game treated with respect, not belittled, locked out or actively undermined. I think that is reasonable. I am also of the view that Ch10 are, somewhat fortuitously, a better cultural fit for the world’s game…..

'A reminder to football’s staunchest critics': The Socceroos can help lead the code's renaissance

I am no fan of Graeme Arnold, however that doesn’t mean I ont wish him and the team every success. Agree with every word of this article…..

You don’t remember the first 5 years of the A-league if you are calling Sydney FC “stable” – sweet Jesus what a mess they were.

Uncovering the brilliance of Network 10’s new A-League promo

Unlike rugby league, Union or AFL – football has players with higher global profiles than Tina (RIP). The question is, should football leverage football or leverage something else?

Uncovering the brilliance of Network 10’s new A-League promo

From Ch10 I’ve seen (1) rolling news coverage in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth. Hobart with multiple stories in a bulliten multiple nights in a week in some markets (2) players on panel shows HYBPA and The Project (3) Archie staring on MasterChef and it’s advertising (4) strong social media coverage integrated across all the Ch10 news and entertainment accounts and with football partners accounts (5) that brilliant I just Cant Get Enough add (6) a full page newspaper advertisment for a Matildas game (7) football content leading news and entertainment web page splash screens (8) dedicated and integrated football news, fixture, match reports and video content across multiple platforms and for all contracted football properties in Aus and Asia – and to think they are only getting started.

You’ll have to define ‘popular’ as in all those cities the fields are full of players of all ages aandthe statistics don’t lie……

Things are looking up for A-League Men

Exactly. Whatever her motivations, her profile and courage have blowen the lid on this issue in our sport. We should welcome it and look forward to our game being a better game. Her social conservatism isn’t to my liking, but professional male and female athletes who want to be respected as such, need not be behaving in camp the way they do.

Is De Vanna brave to blow the whistle, or is it sour grapes?

Look at my profile mate….. Posting for years, but I don’t spend every day here becise I have a life to lead….

A-Leagues for all: Why everyone should follow suit

Your viewing preference is respected as the personal preference it is and not an absolute social truth (just as you presented it). At least you acknowledge your position reflects an earlier generation (mine I suspect). I didn’t think you can make the revenue argument without acknowledging the relationship between that and the past attitudes however.

A-Leagues for all: Why everyone should follow suit

I am arguing that SOCIETY is right.

The contributions of AA were, on this matter, as I described.

I didn’t ‘stifle’ debate. I participated in it. Just as you are doing now.

A-Leagues for all: Why everyone should follow suit

Mate – I’ve been here for a decade + and following football for another 4 before that. A key to promoting social justice is the ability to spot injustice… and never backing down in the face of it. Keep going Andy…..

A-Leagues for all: Why everyone should follow suit

It is absolutely broken if you are a female…… or a male who thinks women and girls deserve better in football or in life in general. You don’t. That’s fine. Most of us do. Jam your “purity”. It served no purpose other than yours….

A-Leagues for all: Why everyone should follow suit

I love how much more technical women’s football is, largely as an adaptation to the slightly lower pace. There is good and bad womens football (like men’s) but at its best it is so good. Viva la difference….

A-Leagues for all: Why everyone should follow suit

These women and girls are Australians. This is their game. Always was. It is time they got the ‘A’ with the rest of us……

A-Leagues for all: Why everyone should follow suit

His claims to supporting women’s football don’t accord with the rest of his language. He is running the old ‘I’m not a sexist, but’ argument…….

A-Leagues for all: Why everyone should follow suit

I am not remotely a kind as you. I am always very, very suspicious of people making the “purity” argument. History teaches this.

A-Leagues for all: Why everyone should follow suit

No one is “rewriting history”. Our games culture is simply changing. This is a normal thing to happen in a free society. Relax and don’t be sure scared of change – especially change that is inclusive of people and good for the entire game.

A-Leagues for all: Why everyone should follow suit

No

A-Leagues for all: Why everyone should follow suit

Ignore the dinosaurs and the scared young men masquerading as fans of the game. This is a small, but important change and the near term looks like there will be many more great moves in the right direction. These are long overdue, completely decent reforms that improve our game and pose no threat to me as an old, white bloke. Viva la revolution?

A-Leagues for all: Why everyone should follow suit

Word.

Football Australia needs to acknowledge two big mistakes

Its all in the lease…… Football is played at AAMI in the summer….. a lot.

Wisest post in this thread by some distance.

South Melbourne slam Western United for Lakeside Stadium plans

Because it is awful…… I will never go to another football game there again. Also, I hate seeing football pay rent to the AFL.

The good news for WU is that they only need strike an agreement with the Victorian people (the stadium operators) through their government, and appear to have already done so. Keep in mind, these two entities are already deeply embedded in an agreement in respect of the Tarneit development in terms of community facilities – not just Council, but the State government as well. People forget this aspect of the relationship.
