Great summary of BOK. That’s why he’s so annoying. See him penalise Valetini late in the match saying hands on ground before ripping ball – even the commentators suggested BOK got it wrong. Valetini shook his head wondering why ever bother.

Brumbies beat Waratahs in monsoonal conditions as injury toll goes from bad to worse

The issue of popular number 10 has much to do with the excitement factor and marketability. Beale and JOC and Quade have established reputation thats marketable and interesting for general audiences. Carter Gordon has an exciting game style and a great multi syllabic name so has easy marketing pitch but just needs the points, trys and wins to go with it. NL is stable and become a dependable point scorer but lacks the x factor and tough defensive image or maybe skill.
We need a great chef to add the spice.

'Nothing's a short-term fix': Schmidt seeks to bring 'fragmented' Wallabies together, says Beale is 'finding feet'

Great Fijian fan base at the match tonight. Very loud and fun. Tricky conditions. Had to leave early and got hime to have Stan crashed and had to delete and reload the tv app by that time the fijians had a 12 penalty streak and brumbies a yellow card!!. Will have to check the replay and see how they could fail so much. Stans fault no doubt.

Brumbies breathe sigh of relief after holding on against physical Drua pack as super sub saves the day

Yeah I couldn’t find it. Only looked for it after the Reds vs blues match though.
Stan was glitching all way through the reds match. Was it just my experience?

'Run-on debut like no other': Junior Wallabies flyer announces himself to the world after stunning hat-trick

Was at the game and super impressed with the team cohesion and awareness. The Hurricanes looked rattled as the first half brumbies speed of attack and variety unfurled. Brumbies kicking game for territory was good eventually finding a few hurricane errors and gaining territory. Loved the exploration of short kicks through though they largely didn’t produce dividends in the game I expect they will in time – feels like they are developing a Mounga or NZ mindset for attack and counterattack keeping the opposition out of rhythm. Re-sign Tamati Tua and ditch the Wallabies eligibility code – Rugby has enough shackles.
BTW Christy I Couldn’t find this article last night. Only ones about winning NZ teams.

Classic!! Thanks.
Love it. The only Aussie team to beat a Kiwi team on this anzac weekend and a minor article sketched, posted and removed so we can wonder about QLD rugby.
Do the Kiwis ignore and try to remove their best performing squad?
Australia could do with a bit of collective pride.

'Heartbreaking': Blues sink Reds with post-siren try after rising star scores epic hat-trick

Where is the article on the Brumbies awesome match against the top table Hurricanes? Doesn’t seem to be anything on the roar right now??? Was at the match and it was a cracker.

'Heartbreaking': Blues sink Reds with post-siren try after rising star scores epic hat-trick

Fun game to watch but so many errors. The thankfully for Everyone Tim Ryan was playing to make it close. Reds looked spent at the end. I thought -when Caleb Clark made a good clearance kick with 5 min to go – why not just run and smash his way through as he usually does , and then a few minutes later he did.

Agree and congrats on the article JF 👍 – One of the most useful with analysis and detail to back it up.
NZ teams know that if they can rattle the Brumbies early then their belief and cohesion can’t function.
I was less shattered by the result of blues match than most fans and almost grateful the scoreboard was so harsh as it demonstrated the some key weaknesses and also an over confidence in the player group. Stuff that can easily be fixed and why analysis like this article is a positive read.
I think ‘Belief’ is a poor cousin to ‘Awareness’ – the Brumbies had the former and definitely lacked the latter in both Chiefs and Blues matches. An ‘Awareness’ mindset is a team state, and also for individual plays amounts to far more than just muscling up, Damien Mckenzie being the prime example of all round awareness. In the Brumbies probably Luke Reimer has it. They’ve all got to have it this Saturday at 2pm.

ANALYSIS: Single biggest issue causing Brumbies headaches - and why it can be traced back to Fisher's departure

I always thought that a drop kick by nature had already touched the ground and thats why you can’t mark a drop kick. My first thought on BOK calling the penalty was will someone confirm that call. But commentators said nothing so figure its correct. Rugby is very detailed.

ANALYSIS: Single biggest issue causing Brumbies headaches - and why it can be traced back to Fisher's departure

Yes you’re correct. Insulting words are just fuel to repeat the same. My bad. On reflection of my post I realised it is kind of normal and almost the role of many fans to be so simplistic and venting frustration, not to mention being single minded about their base. They are the characters represented in Moes’ bar along with Homer Simpson. Be sad and boring if it were different.

Brumbies 'systematically taken apart by the Blues' in 'non-contest' as Larkham's men cop huge reality check

Listen up Yep Brumbies lost their way and kept attempting a type of rugby that was being won by the Blues at contest moments. Yes a few under pressure moments where anxiety forced errors like Lonergans fumbled scrum clearance, and numerous other poor execution of skill across the Aussie squad. Blues by comparison rarely lost composure and eventually gained some more chaotic ambitious play as their dominance was secure.
However most of the hysterical comments on this article are simply ignorant of the complexity of SR. As if players are robots and referees are identical in their perception and choices.
Im a Brumby fan first and all Aussie franchises second. I don’t dump on any SR player except for malicious dangerous intent. Reading a comment about how hopeless or useless a player is, creates an image of the writer as some fat old bu gg er who never had any skill and desperately need his favourite team to fill the wallabies squad and be the loving mummy he never had ( apologies to any females who fit this category too, yes you too).

Brumbies 'systematically taken apart by the Blues' in 'non-contest' as Larkham's men cop huge reality check

So many dark comments on the Brumbies with total write offs being the general tone. Yet it was a battle in the first twenty, and had a few moments fallen in brumbies favour the battle could have continued. BUT the brumbies couldn’t find a way to disrupt or to match up without conceding a penalty. Penalties were lopsided until the 60 plus minutes when Ben Okeefe seem to switch favour and look mainly at the Blues. By that stage it was a strange game indeed. Lonergan had worst game ever. Lolesio ordinary. Blues forwards won the match. But Brumbies will learn and grow no doubts about that.

Brumbies 'systematically taken apart by the Blues' in 'non-contest' as Larkham's men cop huge reality check

They should treat this game and every game here in against nz teams as a final. Win or lose and they’ll learn valuable experience. Winning maybe be more problematic than losing if they succumb to aussie hype pressures. Referee management in equal importance as every other aspect of winning a final.
Hoping Pollard and McInerney survive hooking and perform for remainder of season.

'Doesn't count for anything': Bernie gets serious with Brumbies as race for top two finish heats up

I imagine the kiwis will be critical of Nic Berrys reffing. I’m over sensitive to his refereeing anytime he’s adjudicating a Reds vs ‘other’ match (him being an ex Reds player), but so far this season Ive felt his game management has been calm clear and reasonable.

'Last few years have been hell': Iceman 2.0 Harrison gets 'dream come true' in Tahs' stunning golden point win

Was he dropped or chose to earn euro and family motivation to go to Europe while Fardy was still valuable? Certainly not being selected for wallabies would have been influence. Shame Henry Speight got ignored too.

'Brutal and violent': The two aspects Reds workhorse wants to fix to take next step towards Wallabies

Impressive Brumbies tonight. Tahs had the edge in mauls and line outs but brumby defence was extraordinary. It think Toole was out to show how solid his defence could be too – like a speeding octopus wrapping his opponent. Both halves also played solid with Lonergan rested.

Brumbies make it 12 straight against Tahs as Bell hobbles off in worrying sign for Wallabies

Swain and Tate were enjoying that skirmish. Look at the replay and post match and their both grinning.

'It was brutal': Clutch Lolesio kicks Brumbies to 'Test match intensity' win over Reds as Wright shines again

Hey Biscuit I understand your logic but maybe waratahs should be retired and players spread all around better performing teams. Nsw fans would be welcomed by brumbies and they could enjoy two stadiums. Your vehemence against Australia’s most successful side, performing with less resources and yes a smaller fan base. Dont be so negative, so bitter and twisted. OK you must be hurting from all the thrashings. But better look to promote what’s happening in the Brumbies and learn from it. Embrace and grow. Become a fan – they’re a great side to believe in and usually impress by doing simple things really well and modestly. I suspect the lack of fans in canberra is because of less publicity especially since the local paper became online subscriber only access to articles- its the main positive source of reporting about Brumbies news. And the boring small town options keeps the players focus on their training. Cold climate seems to help too

'Something's not working': Tahs' Good Friday turns into a nightmare as Rebels recruit Daugunu seals upset win

Yes the soap opera continues. But when will RA realise they are sitting on a gold mine already deep with nuggets and developing mire and more. Hire a decent script writer, producer and director. The doco on Eddie Jones was lame compared to Roar comments. There is drama, characters, intensity and a world audience. How can RA save Rugby in Australia? Make the movie, then the series, watch the dollars roll in. Its not for Stan to rip off. And buying Rugby league players won’t make the same return. Wake up and see the opportunity. Super Rugby teams week six: Foketi back after horror injury, Suli benched, Sam Carter set for debut, DMac rested

Spend more money on marketing and grassroots. Build a great culture. Say goodbye to players who don’t want to play for the wallabies. When RA is deeply securely financial and celebrating and supporting the key forwards that allow for spectacular backline moves then make risky investments. So far I doubt any if the investments have paid reasonable dividends Folau included given the eventual damage and costs he caused.

Wonder kid offered 3-yr, $1.6m deal to stay in Aussie rugby - and why it could see Wallabies stars leave Ballymore

Saying Tate is the premium half for the wallabies is really just trying to apply some balm to the wounded Reds fans looking for something positive to read. Issue for Tate is obviously his pass but also team awareness – he is super talented and needs players to be alert to his likely unpredictable runs. If he was bigger or just faster he could be our missing 10. Tom Wright is also a super talent that often plays as a solo athlete But last weekend showed brilliance as a team player. And could potentially be a 10 if NL or JD become unavailable for the Brumbies. Not sure about either tate or wrights kicking though.
