Have you seen any of JTs games in the last 3 weeks? He has literally changed the outcome of all of them. And you think he cant deal with pressure?? Open your eyes, those two kicks he got against Melbourne at the death were as clutch as they come. And thats just his last 3 games…. Hes been doing it at the Cowboys for 10 years.

Is Thurston the greatest ever Australian rugby league halfback?

I wish Skapetis had stayed at Rangers. He would be possibly jagging a bench spot at the moment over Reece Greco Cox.

Ikonomidis' Euro adventure starting to kick off

I don’t think the NRL should have kicked Carney out – there are plenty of others in the competition still who have done worse things then him. My question is; after all the stupid things Carney has done, why would any club want to sign him and risk him stuffing up again, and therefore getting the fans offside and ruining the culture of the club. I don’t care how talented he is, he’s proven that he’s a bozo time and time again. I wouldn’t want him playing for my local park footy side let alone my NRL team.

Five questions from Round 3 of the NRL

You hit the nail on the head, thats my biggest problem with the NRL at the moment. id like to know the statistics over a weekend for the percentage of tries that go to the video ref. Slows the game down, makes it harder for fans to get excited and into the game by delaying celebrating a try, and like you said gives everyone on the field a decent breather. And after aside from all that, were still seeing shocking calls every weekend!

Five questions from Round 3 of the NRL

Theyre good no doubt, but not world class.

Are foreign players ruining the English national team?

Let them be pissed about it. It is just not feasible in any way, shape or form. The competition would be destroyed. Clubs who get relegated would fold. It aint gonna happen for a long, long time, if at all.

Has Popovic finally found a solution for the Wanderers?

You cant take anything out of the game over in the UK. On paper, their team is strong. Itll be interesting to see if anything comes about with this coke scandal though…

I know a lot of people are writing Manly off, but they still have borderline the best spine in the comp, and at full strength arguably the best backline. I don’t think they will contest for the title, but if I were forced to pick between them and the dragons, it would be a no brainer for me.

Cronulla have recruited well, and again have one of the best packs in the comp. And the addition of Ennis, although I don’t really like him, is huge for them.

@Walter, I don’t think the raiders will necessarily make the 8, but they wont be last like everyone seems to think every year. I think if Wighton plays fullback, he will be this years Matt Moylan. And I expect Blake Austin to build on his form from last year. But as always, time will tell…

Warrington win shows Dragons will make the eight

Somehow I don’t think Kane Douglas will get picked…

Rugby World Cup bolters: It’s never too early

Arrogance and Pestiness are the two most important traits in a scrumhalf

Id put Speight as a lock for a wing spot too. Not the best start to the year, but hes had no ball, and breaks tackles for fun when he does

Are you really suggesting that an English team/teams enter the NRL?

The World Club Series isn't the Champions League, it's the Amco Cup

Agree. Raiders get the least amount of help from the NRL out of any club, but that’s a conversation for another day.

The World Club Series isn't the Champions League, it's the Amco Cup

The Dragons may go better then last year, but they will not make the 8. There are too many better teams ahead of them. Take the locks for the top 8 – Souths, Roosters, Penrith, Cowboys. Then pick 4 of the following: Manly, Storm, Bulldogs, Warriors, Brisbane, Cronulla. Then you have Dragons, Eels, Raiders, Tigers and Knights. Then Daylight. Then Titans.

Of the first 10 sides named, can you realistically see the Dragons finishing ahead of 2 of them? The big improvers this year for me will be Cronulla and the Raiders.

Robbie Coleman doesnt get a mention? He was playing well before he got injured. Id give him a 7.5 at least

Super Rugby Aussie player ratings: Round 1

Its not new, but doesnt mean its not a problem and shouldnt be fixed.

Dithering NRL needs a player transfer window, now

If its all about money, what happened to all the players the Raiders threw offers at/ ‘signed’? Tedesco, JWH, Mansour, Brett Stewart etc… From memory, the Raiders were offering them much more money then they were originally on, Tedesco especially, but none of them came.

Dave Smith should not put a blank cheque in front of Inglis

Read the comment. Yes Parra and the Titans are interested in the Manly halves, but whats to stop Manly saying that they are also being chased by French or Japanese rugby, so they get the Smith bucks as well?

Its a massively flawed system that will result in teams being favoured over others.

League overtaking AFL wont happen anytime soon

As football booms, FFA must continue to invest in the game's future

That tennis analogy is off the mark. I bet if someone had to play Nadal and Federer twice to win the Australian Open they would be complaining…

Is it time for change to the current NRL structure?

And because of the above, the conference system will never work in rugby league.
