Played a few sports in my time, excelled at none of them, couch expert at most.

Probably doesnt deserve to be on this list yet, but Rahmat Akbari up at Brissy will be a standout in the next 2 or 3 years if hes given the game time. Skillful and a good decision maker, he just needs time in the A-League. Sadly that seems to be the issue with a number of youngsters…

Picking the A-League's best U-23 XI

nailed it. theres a lot that stats dont count for

Picking the A-League's best U-23 XI

So because no one turns up to watch them play they arent an NRL quality half? ok mate strong argument….

A lot of players are as good as the players they play with – how many of these halves would improve when put in an nrl team compared to a nsw cup side i dont know, but itd be interesting to see.

An expansionist ideal: Part 1 – NRL

“If you expand to 18 teams you need two more first grade calibre halfbacks, two more first grade calibre fullbacks etc. These players don’t exist.”

Who says these players dont exist? Quality players, for whatever reason, fall through the cracks in juniors more often than they should. Look at Cody Walker as an example; he didnt get a crack at first grade until his mid 20s, now hes near the first name on Souths team sheet.

There are juniors that dont play NRL who arguably should and could – more teams give them new pathways to make this happen.

Mate give Hungary some credit…

Euro 2016: The best and the worst

Most “club legends” in the EPL are English…really? What a shock. I bet most of the legends in La Liga are Spanish too yeah?

A foreigner's curse: Why Di Maria was never meant to wear a Manchester United shirt

You can’t base whether or not a team will win the comp by any potential injuries they MAY have, thats dumb. If Tuivasa Sheck goes down, I don’t think the Roosters will win. Same with Adam Reynolds, Ben Hunt, Gallen, DCE, Cam Smith… Every team has a player/players that they realistically can’t win the comp without.

The premiership is a three-horse race (with not a Bronco in sight)

It is seriously cold tonight. The game will be played in negative degrees id think

FFA Cup brings a little imagination and fantasy to football

How quickly everyone forgets…

It was only 10 or so years ago that everyone hated Lleyton Hewitt as well. I was always a Lleyton fan, and was always in the minority when this was brought up in conversation.

Also it was interesting to note that when Lleyton won the last reverse singles tie and sealed the win for Australia, the first person on the court to hug him and congratulate him was Nick Kyrgios. That surely has to be a good sign.

Kyrgios joins Tomic in a race to the bottom

Boom!

Underrated A-league still not getting the plaudits it deserves

NSW has depth too. Doesnt mean its has a good side.

The Blues are not worthy, send the Maroons to Auckland

Ha youre joking if you think that. Look at the teams on paper. Who from England and NZ starts for a full strength Aussie team? Aside from front rowers – Graham and Bromwich, no one demands selection.

Yes NZ beat us the last few times, which is down to them being more passionate and actually caring about international footy. Its not right, but its the truth, and its why the Kangaroos are the only Aussie sports team I dont care about.

The Blues are not worthy, send the Maroons to Auckland

QLD would beat that NZ team by a cricket score.

The Blues are not worthy, send the Maroons to Auckland

Spot on. Aussies care way more about playing for their state than they do for the country. If the Kangaroos cared half as much as QLD or NSW do, they wouldnt lose. Their team on paper is unbeatbale, yet it keeps getting beaten.

The Blues are not worthy, send the Maroons to Auckland

Dont get your hopes up would be my advice.

Milner is a good signing on a free, but its easier to look good with the likes of Silva, Toure and Aguero around you. Sturridge is a good striker but not world class. Coutinho is too inconsistant but on his day is a top class player. Firmino up front with Lallana and Sturridge (assuming Sterling goes) could be a pretty handy front line.

Have Liverpool's new recruits set them up for 2015-16 success?

Do we have an in form second rower?

Risks must be taken for 2015 Rugby World Cup victory

They would beat the Jets mate 😉

The Free XI: A-League's best free agents

I would love it Bobby came to the A League, but id rather it be in yellow then sky blue. Is Drogba still a possiblity? I remember his name being thrown around not long ago.

Who will replace Marc Janko at Sydney FC?

The best thing that could happen to Rugby league is channel 10 getting the broadcast rights.Theyve done an excellent job with the big bash, i think they would do the same for league.

The ‘voice’ of rugby league is off the pace

They should never have punted Vossy

Klopp will end up either at Man City or Arsenal. The arse were sounding him out as a replacement for Wenger before he officially left Dortmund, even though Arsene has 2 years left on his contract.

How safe is Pellegrini's job right now?

He hasnt had to, hes had Locky, Inglis, Slater and Smith there with him. Tough to stand out so blatantly in a team filled with all those superstars.

Is Thurston the greatest ever Australian rugby league halfback?

Cant agree with you on that. Benji is a poor defender. JT is solid.

Does winning 3 premierships mean a player is better than one who has one or two premierships? Also, look at the team Locky had around him when he won those premierships – it was basically a representative team anyway.

I dont think winning the biggest prize on offer is necessarily the be all and end all. Rugby League is a team sport, so when talking about individual honours, individual acclaim should have a higher importance – awards such as the Dally M, Golden boot, total number of MOM etc… Johns and JT are tied on golden boots and Dally Ms at the moment – would be interesting to know how they fared in MOMs.

Is Thurston the greatest ever Australian rugby league halfback?

Thats one thing JT has over anyone else – he is far and away the most competitive player ive ever seen. You summed it up perfectly; making repeat tackles, always first in kick chase, runs in support on every break… hes a freak
