The nerve!
Add the rain on that September GF & The Royal blue & black looked magnificent.
I still remember Alex Hamilton’s diving mark to save what would have been the Buzz’s 8th goal in the last qtr. He slid all the way to the fence. Then Kelly marked the kick out 😊 😁 👍

The problem with Collingwood’s jumper debate

Its not yet 6am in Perth & you still beat me to the East Perth correction – on ya Micko 😁
Great article by Les. I don’t think you can brand all Collingwood supporters with Eddie’s intransigence. I’m sure its partly motivated by his desire to be in the news, often at the cost of progress.

The problem with Collingwood’s jumper debate

Have you got a bent against Sydney Chuk? Your previous article defended Essendon’s handling of the Daniher trade request by blaming Sydney, now you attack Sydney’s Buddy contract. Both articles are against the grain of thought (which is your prerogative as an Essendon tragic). But both are hard to justify & both seem anti Sydney.

Buddy Franklin's time at the Swans has been a failure

The original trade involved JK, Masten & Judd, who are all premiership players.
… Sending Cripps to WCE for JK, & Masten (coming out of retirement), would give Cripps a chance of becoming a premiership player too. 😛

Shutdown a blow for Dockers gameplan: Fyfe

As JK is 32, WCE would do that trade. The reverse Judd trade would give them Masten too. 😁 He’s retired but he’s younger than Simpson, so just do it.

😂 & a future second round pick swap

Peter, are you sure it was Eddie AND Mick who said “no” to Mick continuing as senior coach? Or was it just Eddie?

The 15 most irritating Collingwood moments of all time: Part 3

Are you really that simple Kev? I mentioned West Coast’s 4 premierships alongside Richmond winning 5 games in Perth against West Coast – ever – in 33 years.
Concentrate think and it may dawn on you. I said “may” for a good reason – think about that too.

Spruce’s attempt to be witty – You’re half way there!
(But that was evident before this) 😊 😛

The AFL to apologise for Perth being far away

Agree to disagree guys.
We won 4 away premierships in Melbourne.
Richmond have won 5 games against West Coast in Perth – well done.

😁 👍 Poor Richie, the tyranny of the limited victorian response

Rather than scraping any barrel Kev, the snail trail you see behind you and Richie is the floor being wiped with you two 😁

I haven’t bothered read that book Richie – If you can’t be succinct, given the ineptitude of your reasoning it’s not a priority.

The Vic-centric AFL discriminates against WA clubs

Is that because cellar dwellers like Richmond can’t get a flag without 15-18 home state games?

The Vic-centric AFL discriminates against WA clubs

Sven, I said there are 8 games against other Melbourne clubs after that they can travel. It doesn’t mean they don’t get any games at home against interstate clubs. But the rationale of limiting non-Victorian clubs home state to 12 is questionable. The reasoning is the travelling team is at a disadvantage, so the non Victorian team travels. If non Victorian clubs played 2 extra games in their home state the fixture would be much fairer.

Not that I am complaining – LOL

The Vic-centric AFL discriminates against WA clubs

No Richie the answer is obvious but it’s pointless arguing when there’s no prospect of reason.

What do you think Richie

Selective fact checking Alfred; “you’re gonna quote statistics, get it right.
-Your melt about the draw. 10 out of 18 clubs are based in or around Melbourne

Firstly Geelong isn’t in or around Melbourne & they want their home games at GMBH.
2nd: 9 Melb teams only need 8 games per season against the Melbourne clubs not 15 to 18.
After they play the Melbourne teams once they can travel. But they don’t want the non Vic clubs have the advantage of playing at home – it’s too great an advantage, right? Equally then a home GF at the MCG is an unfair advantage when it’s not earned.

The Vic-centric AFL discriminates against WA clubs

How about they play their home games at GMBH & their away games away. Rather than home games in Melbourne. Would that really be so hard?

Richmond are “Realists” when drafting 1st round elite talent: Ty Vickery (Pick 8), Brandan Ellis (7), Ben Lennon (12), Daniel Butler (7), Corey Ellis (12) …
No wonder they hang their hat on two players with under 25 games combined.
Remember Dean Polo – best-on-ground in his first game. De-listed after 56 games.

The best players that slipped through the cracks since 2000

Josh Jenkins – Essendon Pick 10 in the 2010 Rookie draft, (was 12 – GWS passed twice).
0 games – spent 2011 in VFL. Traded to Adelaide in 2011. 147 games at Adelaide.

The eagles also wanted Alex Rance, son of former captain Murray Rance who had played for Swan Districts & Footscray before WCE. Kevin Sheedy had led the whining over the quality of WA’s father son picks. (Ben Cousins and Ashley MacIntosh were previous bargains). Sheedy got the rules changed which cost the Eagles the Morton brothers (dodged a bullet), Alex Rance and recently Josh Kelly, son of dual Sandover Medallist, Phil Kelly. Sheedy talked up the WA talent so much it resulted in 4 picks from WA in the top 10 & 7 in the top 20. Essendon took 3 of their 4 draft picks from WA ( 😂 ).
The Eagles still won with Josh Kennedy.

Ted Richards: 33 games at Essendon. 228 games at Sydney, (2012 All Aust & Premiership player).

I didn’t hear about the Fev offer – thank goodness that never happened! Could you imagine handling Fev & Cousins!
