I too think Sainz may be the winner. I don’t think red bull would stand in his way, especially as they have another rookie waiting in the wings to replace him straight away in Pierre Gasly. I reckon that Kyvat might be trying his hardest to get a look at the mercedes seat, especially after the way Red Bull treated him earlier in the season.

What a xmas present for whoever gets the seat.

Open season? Mercedes must poach for Rosberg's replacement

I can’t help but wonder what the wash-up would have been like if both Vettel and Verstappen had indeed overtaken Rosberg gifting Hamilton the title. Im sure there would be a huge uproar about sportsmanship and the like. 10 fold what it is now. It was almost like Hamilton thought better of it in the closing laps. He certainly could of made Rosbergs day even harder if he wanted to.

I really would not be surprised if Hamilton retires now in the off season. He is setup for life, and he doesn’t seem to have the passion needed for F1. I imagine it would be the best job in the world for a few hours on Sundays, but the rest of the bullsh*t that comes along with the F1 circus must drive a driver mad.

Hamilton's disobedience has probably already turned Mercedes against him

Port don’t have pick 16 anyone. It’s now Brisbane’s.

Complete AFL mock draft 2016 - first edition

I can’t help but wonder if they were only given the priority pick because they were a good little club and appointed Fagen and Noble just like the AFL wanted. Very cynical perhaps but nevertheless….. Hopefully the Lions can put it to good use.

Brisbane gets a boost: AFL awards luckless Lions a priority pick

That is good to hear. The first part anyway. Not so much having 10 again for next year. Next year is setup to be absolutely fascinating with all the new regulations and how I would love to see all the action. I have only grown to love formula 1 in the last 5 or so years, yet the sport currently seems determined to lose me as an avid follower. It’s all about me ….. 🙂

Hopefully meaningful change is in the air and will be fast tracked.

Why this must be Jenson Button's last season

Touche ….. His tenure at the eels wasn’t the greatest. His work for NZ rugby league and the Broncos since then has been very successful. Time will tell but I think he will be a great coach and just what the warriors need right now. He has a sense of authority and with the right assistants, hopefully will come up with a killer game plan. Im not a warriors fan but I would like to see them successful and contending.

Warriors sign Kieran Foran on a one-year deal

Kearney has had a fantastic apprenticeship under Bellamy and now as Bennets right hand man. Couple that with his success as an international coach, I have no doubts he will make the transition successfully. And having Foran and Johnson as his 6 and 7 – Wow. What a free kick.
Time will tell whether Foran is the right choice, but if anyone can help him steer his life ship, it is Kearney.

Warriors sign Kieran Foran on a one-year deal

With such a great persona and charisma, he would make the perfect ambassador for Formula 1 and could see it being a very positive move for F1. Im sure that the new owners / caretakers of the sport would look seriously at getting Button on board in some way.

I really hope, and I mean really really hope, that the new owners will organise a digital platform that enables us Aussies to watch the Formula 1 season in its entirety. There is no way I can justify a sports package with uncle Rupert, and I am loathe to give him my hard earned. I hope there is something in the works similar to the AFL/NRL season Live pass which will enable me to stream and watch the whole of the weekends action each and every round. Im so sick of the poor F1 coverage that is currently on channel 10. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr …..

Why this must be Jenson Button's last season

Totally agree….. If brake problems like Button had are not classified as dangerous then the world has gone mad. For him to be given a drive through is ludicrous. I for one would love to see refuelling come back into the sport but I know it will never happen. It added a layer of complexity that was so intriguing and the different strategies available were really interesting.

Throw the Formula One radio ban into the bin before it's too late

It’s pretty criminal when you look at the facts. Im a bronco supporter so it’s good to see so much of them, but in saying that, I really can see the frustration for every other supporter. And the fact that the raiders, sharkies, cowboys, panthers and storm only have a combined 9 games in the last 6 weeks defies belief. I feel particularly sorry for the sharkies fans.

It seems a pretty short-sighted view held be channel 9. Maximise viewership in broncos, rabittohs Territory etc to the detriment of growing the game for all the teams named above to improve the game and viewers long term.

The NRL draw is so unfair it's almost criminal

If our man Dan went to Ferrari and overshadowed vettel like he did in vettel’s last season at Red Bull, he would become the number 1 driver at Ferrari pretty quick. I think most teams including Ferrari will support the driver who is leading the championship first and foremost. In saying that, it will be interesting to see what improvements are in the red Bull car over the next few races and whether it is even worth daniel contemplating a switch. If a seat was available at Mercedes though….. that’s a different story.

Why Ricciardo should stay at Red Bull

Thanks.. I always wondered but could not find a definitive answer.

State of Origin's key questions: NSW edition

Can anyone answer a question about interchanges….. Does the team that walks off at half time have to be the same team that takes the field in the second half? Or can you change the line ups at half time without affecting interchanges?

State of Origin's key questions: NSW edition

Looking forward to see what our Danny and his new Renault engine can do this weekend. And I will actually get to see this race on channel 10 which is nice.

Why do we love the Monaco Grand Prix?

The Brisbane lions would not have a premiership in 01,02,or 03 in that case. As a lions supporter, thank God we have grand finals.

Should the AFL adopt the EPL format?

It would be a great opportunity for the reserve drivers to do their bit and test the hell out of the new tyres. Might also give them a slight leg up for next year if they do get a drive. As long as the tyres are being tested on last years cars with last years specs with no sneaky testing of new parts it could work. Pirelli could also have the same test using each and every teams car rather than cherry picking just 5 manufacturers.

The racing has been good if you disregard the mercedes. But that seems to be the problem. You cant disregard the dominance of the mercedes. Take them out of the picture though and the racing has been very good. Or so I read online. I really miss the F1 coverage being on channel 10. How I miss watching the race from flag to flag.

Three things the Chinese GP taught us about the future of Formula One

Like last year when it was broncos v cowboys grand final and most Queensland fans were not able to get to Sydney to see their teams. It goes both ways.

The NRL grand final belongs to rugby league, not NSW

Could pirelli use last year’s cars with last year’s specs to do testing. At the very least they would have a good understanding of how they would work. It would also allow a little unpredictability for when they are used next year.

Three things the Chinese GP taught us about the future of Formula One

Yeah. That’s true. I would like to point out though that a few years ago the broncs and cowboys played in a final (not a grand final) and the Nrl were able to schedule that on short notice to play in Brisbane after both the cowboys and broncos agreed. But I concede that is way different to a grand Final.

I wonder if it would be possible to have all the major stadiums in the major cities available and ready to go for the grand final each and every year. Tickets sales could start on the Monday and would no doubt sell out in the week leading up to the grand final. It would be a nightmare but it could be done…..

I realise it is a moot point as I understand part of the agreement in updating the stadiums in Sydney is to ensure the grand finals stay in Sydney for the next 20 years or so. I think I read somewhere that was a stipulation the nsw government made and the Nrl agreed to it.

Brisbane deserve NRL grand final: Gould

I don’t think the tradition thinking works. Tradionally, the finals were held in Sydney because it was a Sydney competition but all changed in the late 80’s and early 90’s when it was expanded to a national competition. The Nrl is not steeped in history. The NSWRL is.

I would be happy to keep the majority of grand finals in NSW if there is a Sydney team playing in it. Last year’s grand final, I believe, should have been played in Brisbane. I understand that more money is made in Sydney because of the bigger stadium, but to have 2 Queensland teams playing a granny in Sydney doesn’t make sense anymore. Same deal if it’s a Canberra / Melbourne grand final. It’s a game for the supporters and the Queensland supporters missed out last year. Never thought I would agree with Gould on this particular topic.

Isle of Man TT is insane. I would love to do that trip.

McKAY: My ultimate sporting bucket list

Agree with that too. He could be a gun for the next decade. That first game he played when he went back with the flight of the footy was so good to see.

2016 AFL preview: Brisbane Lions' best 22

In my mind, McStay needs to be up forward. Somehow. He reminds me a little of Bradshaw and could be the perfect 3rd tall. He looks like a hungry forward and could our Gunstan like player.

I wasn’t to sure about Beams when he first came up. He was a great 3rd mid behind Pendles and Swan but he has certainly proved me wrong. Great pick-up. The lions are starting to accumulate genuine depth across the board which is exciting for us fans.

Mayes is an interesting one. Such a beautiful kick and when on, looks like a very likely player. But he does fade in and out but he does have such potential. Maybe the same could be said of Bewick. and maybe Clay Beams. All seem to be perfect for the Martin Pyke type role on the wings.

If I was Leppitsch, I would also demand that every time Rich has the ball forward of halfway, he should be having a shot on goal. We don’t see enough of those shots from 70 metres out that land in school yard behind the stands. 🙂 He has such a long and penetrating kick and should be told to use it whenever he can.

There is a lot to look forward to if you are a lions supporter. Next year will be a consolidation year but they hopefully improve on this years efforts. I see Paul Roos is out of contract next year ….. It will be interesting to see what the Board does with Leppa’s contract.

2016 AFL preview: Brisbane Lions' best 22

I absolutely love my F1 but it so very frustrating that it is not aired on FTA anymore. I refuse to support Uncle Rupert in any way or form (especially at the prices currently offered) but if F1 offered an online streaming I would be all over it. I watch every race that is televised on channel 10 but it getting to the point of ‘meh, I don’t care if I miss the race’. I want to be able to follow EVERY race, every qualifying and be emotionally invested in the whole season, not just the glamour races that channel 10 tries to push.

A $30 season access pass streamed over the internet would be perfect and I would jump at the chance. Until that does happen, you are quite right in saying formula 1 will be the loser. It is fast becoming irrelevent and it is such a shame because it was once the pinnacle of motor racing. Bernie really needs to put the consumers first, because without them the sport will not survive.

Formula One needs a back-up plan if the BBC bites the dust

These f__king cars go round and round and round and round. Its so f__king boring …..
