Why don’t more Super Rugby teams partner with the NRL? some of those teams seem very well run.

Fears for Rebels' future as debt threatens their Super Rugby existence - but CEO says 'we will be fine'

How did he ever coach here and in England? I think the Aussie Journos and fans are too kind, Eddie needs to watch Rassie in a press conference after we lose to ABs

'Give yourself upper cuts': Eddie furious at journos after 'worst press conference I've ever had'

This is probably the most impartial synopsis of the Wallabies I’ve read so far. The problem I see with pivoting from the “smash and grab” model everyone keeps alluding too, to a long game approach is I’m not sure you have the right man. Eddie is who you bring in for immediate success, he hates the long game. If you look at his record he very rarely leaves a program in better shape than he found it, if you don’t win the World Cup, Rugby Championship or the Lions before 27 is he really still going to be there? The next as alluded to by the author, is super Rugby, your key players are in terrible Super Rugby teams, which can’t set them up for success. The Boks have massive challenges at the moment, but we take winning the world cup very seriously. Preparation starts the day after the previous cups final, I know we wouldn’t cop blowing up a world cup campaign to maybe win one in 4 years.

The Wrap: Is Eddie Jones playing the role of Keyser Soze or Frank Drebin?

These are very fair questions, especially about your halves pairings, but the biggest question is do the Wallabies know how to win anymore, the first half on the weekend was well played against an All Blacks side with serious questions about their depth. But you still let them claw back a 14 pint deficit. The Boks are the same and cannot put together an 80 Minute performance but at least we know how to find a win. Eddie needs to beat France or it could be a very short World Cup, even though you somehow scored that dream draw.

Wallabies fans appear comfortable with 0 and 4 – but some obvious questions remain

I’m sorry I don’t see it, we got bosses at the breakdown by the ABs and played with no confidence against Argentina.

'Meat to the bones': Plenty to chew on for Wallabies fans after best performance of the year

“But I do know that that performance and that showing has them in a lot better window to progress than was the case in Pretoria and in Sydney.

Call it promising signs, call it green shoots, call it whatever you need to. But the point is, there now is something”

I’m comparing language like the above, which is full of hope and positivity, to wants being said about the Boks. There is a genuine fear over here that we have got the balance in the forwards wrong and they are lashing the coach. I’m not sure your outlook is helpful as I don’t think any positives can come from a near 30 point defeat, but it does make for an interesting change compared to what they are saying here

'Meat to the bones': Plenty to chew on for Wallabies fans after best performance of the year

You Aussies are an odd bunch, you leak 30 plus points and seem hopeful about the World Cup. Over here everyone is panicking about the Boks after struggling in our last 2 games. Wallabies job is the best, such a friendly media.

'Meat to the bones': Plenty to chew on for Wallabies fans after best performance of the year

This is extremely unfair on Rennie and flatters Jones. This Boks side was remarkably under strength and the Wallabies should have won this one especially after the poor start from the Boks. But Eddie had the wrong game plan of constantly kicking it back, which you just don’t do at Loftus, our backs absolutely lapped it up.
Rennie had this side playing tough possession Rugby and the Boks struggled for answers. Jones got out coached and if I was Rennie I would be at home in NZ having a quiet chuckle.

Vision as important as selection after physical and mental battering - and it could mean following France's '19 RWC path

What’s going on with Super Rugby over there? Stories about possible NRL players get more coverage here than the Tahs vs The Brumbies or the Reds? The NRL gets enough publicity without Rugby writers chiming in.

'The NRL has lost their mind': RA chair fires back after Suaalii attack as another NRL star's interest confirmed

What is going on with the Roar lately? So many Rugby articles mention the NRL, I went and watched Tuqiri at Newlands once and his kick returns were woeful, the Bokkers pinned him in the corner and Wallabies went nowhere, he was a great runner but Australia has had much better wingers. The secret to turning the dreadful Wallabies around is not in the NRL.

'He'd be a fantastic 12': Eddie pinpoints NRL gun he wants to poach - and why having stars matter

Is it possible to read an ARU article without mention of the NRL??
You Aussies are obsessed, I love the roar but there has genuinely been approximately 6 articles this week talking about another sport!
What’s happening over there??

Door ajar for schoolboy sensation to rocket into Super Rugby contention as Eddie chat revealed

You Aussies are unbelievable, you concede 39 points and then get angry about a bad call, which I admit was not a great call. But come on, all you have to do is hold them out one more time. Maybe blame your defence instead of the ref, I am usually pretty kind to the Wallabies but this is average of the fans.

'Clear cut call', 'They've got to be better': Ruthless All Blacks back ref as Foley felt he 'let team down'

That is really interesting Joe, and certainly helps explain why the Rebels constantly underperform in such a massive market.

The Wrap: How the Rebels are trying to bridge the chasm between club and Super rugby

I agree with him that the Aussie media very rarely call the Aussies on poor performances, it seems like a massive love in over there which is all nice and lovely but doesn’t really encourage good performances.
Is there any other team in the world that would keep a captain with a losing record like Hooper? He is an absolute giant of the game around the world and the way he went after Robshaw in 2015 was priceless but he has forgotten how to win big games.

The niggly, nagging questions ahead of the first Wallabies-England Test

He is an Aussie Rugby reporter in Australia, of course he’s going to report favourably a out the Wallabies TSP. I think you are a bit harsh this time.

The niggly, nagging questions ahead of the first Wallabies-England Test

Hahaha the Aussie fans aren’t going to like that TSP. But I get your point, they are a good Rugby team but they have become really timid in the last few years.

'We want the sport to flourish': How Quade Cooper and Marcus Smith are reinventing rivalry via Instagram DMs

I am just surprised that a Saturday night triple header could not get more than a Storm game on a Monday, when everyone has to go to work the next day.
Attendance is pretty poor in Australia at the moment which is strange because you guys play an exciting brand of Rugby.

'Playing too well to leave out': The Wallabies selection headache forced by McReight's great leap forward

The key to events like this is encouraging travel and selling tickets, I only watched it on TV but from the look of it on the screen the event did not do either, the Melbourne Storm NRL game had more people there and that was a single match on a Monday night? So I am not sure the Super Round was such a good idea?

'Playing too well to leave out': The Wallabies selection headache forced by McReight's great leap forward

It’s never been less popular in NZ either Terry, not that they care as long as the All Blacks keep winning and paying off their billionaire owners. Turns out playing SA teams wasn’t the problem. But you Aussies keep pretending all is ok while you lose another World Cup.
With the amount of talent in your country the ARU should be ashamed with the results so far.

Super Rugby Pacific: The first month report card

Makes sense, I just read an article on a sports site over here how the Queensland Maroons sold out that Same stadium in under a day.

The Wrap: Reds take their learnings to break Australia’s Super Rugby duck

As a South African I really don’t understand the NRL, is the Queensland Maroons bigger than the QLD Reds, even though Super Rugby Is a bigger competition?

The Wrap: Reds take their learnings to break Australia’s Super Rugby duck

That looked like an amazing stadium that the Reds played in on the weekend how come they don’t play there more often?

The Wrap: Reds take their learnings to break Australia’s Super Rugby duck

The best strategy I have ever seen with building crowd engagement is from the Seattle Seahawks and that is the number 12 campaign, where the team gave the fans the number 12, they made them part of the squad.
that way the fans felt they were actively part of the team and it got them very involved, even if you go to Seattle now you will see number 12 merchandise more than any other number. Sounds like the Waratahs need their fans to help them win now.

Can New South Wales solve its crowds crisis?

Not a good move if you can’t afford it, as a proud African I am very glad we are not going to participate in a competition that is completely designed so Australia can win. SA needs to do what’s right for SA.

The Wrap: Player welfare no concern as All Blacks take it up a notch in Auckland

Yeah definitely lost, as the Canberra Raiders NRL team play in the same stadium.

The Wrap: Rugby learnings of Australia for make benefit glorious nation of Brumbies
