I reckon we omit Christie (bold!) or Dmac (safer) and bring in Blackadder.
What would you do Pinetree?

England react with fury as Bok cleared by World Rugby after TWO racism allegations made by Tom Curry

Exactly. I am stunned actually. I expected them to go 6-2 and was thinking a lot about it over the past couple of days-thinking maybe NZ should go 6-2 as well…but it would be a gamble. Now I think they have to seriously consider it. The ball is firmly in Foster’s court! He isn’t known for surprises either…..

COMPLETE RWC finals teams: All Blacks' answer to Boks' bold 7-1 bench call, Smith returns for England

I’d omit Christie I think and replace him with another loosie. Blackadder would be the one. He’s tough, and that is the quality we need in spades.
6-2 to counter their 7-1 and hope for a dry ball.
The Boks’ management have balls of granite! 😱

Boks have named their team!
7-1 split with WLR the only back. 😱

England did that really well v the Boks/ They put a man up to slap it back and usually had three chasers spread out to pick up the scraps.

SPIRO ZAVOS: England's bully boy, no rugby display against Boks is the game they play in hell. Now for the salvation

The Boks haven’t always played conservatively.
One of my favourite games ever was a RSA v NZ match at Loftus to decide the RC. ABs needed a bonus point to win comp, Boks needed to win. They traded tries like they were going out of fashion.
Grew up watching, and listening on the radio to, Bok teams of the 70s that had brilliant backs and knew how to use them.

What is it you love about the Black Caps? I think Kapa O Pango translates literally as ‘black cap’ (Cap of black) too so maybe you can transfer a bit of the love? 😛

Definitely. 👍

Way to make it all about NZ mate. Good on ya. 👍

If the thrust of this well-written piece is that the laws of the game (and the recent changes of those laws) have created an ugly and dangerous monstrosity then I fully agree.
Generally speaking I watch fewer and fewer games than I used to and I am seldom fully entertained, although this RWC has churned up some beauties.

Probably the worst result of the various law changes has resulted in our beloved game being rendered so complex that neither referees nor fans can agree on ‘interpretations’ and professional players are just as bewildered.
This has led to players openly questioning (and in some cases berating) the refs (who used to be nigh on sacrosanct) and stadia full of disgruntled fans disgracefully booing a ref before a match even starts. The laws need to be simplified in my view and adhered to!
Don’t get me started on the Water Boys!

Rugby’s descent into cynical play: Why neutral fans should back the All Blacks for the good of the game

Early indication Foster will stick to the same bench, maybe?

The trick is to hit the tilde key (left of #1) ānd the next vowel gets the halo!
This is when using a standard keyboard.
Phones, yeah, just hold the key down and select the option you want.

Yeah good points mate.

Frizzell, Cane and Mo’unga-much maligned and judged unworthy of the jersey by many, and we won’t appreciate how good they are until they are gone.

There has always been trans-Tasman cross pollination right back to the 18th century. Plenty of good kiwis have ended up representing Australia and not just our musicians and actors!
Clarrie Grimmett springs to mind….. 😔

Hey Mirt,
I saw that tohutō in your post and it got me checking how to do that myself-thanks for that mate. Learn something everyday usually doesn’t apply to me but on this occasion……. 😁 👍

BF,
If you have migrated to Australia I don’t get why you don’t embrace the place fully, warts and all?
Seems like trying to have your cake and eat it too to send children across the Tasman for a better rugby education.
I spent three pretty wonderful years all over Australia but I can’t imagine living there for decades without becoming part of the fabric.

'Didn't want to leave': The Aussie-raised star in World Cup final - and the 'vision' that led him to the All Blacks

One of the most irritating aspects of last year’s Irish-NZ series was the team selection.
Top class options were not selected, particularly in the pack. That was the main source of my personal disgruntlement with the coaching/selection staff.
Maybe NZ does need to play a longer season at Super level but I don’t think the money is there to finance an increasingly stale product.

He is a very smart guy and pretty experienced now too so I can’t understand why he would do such a dumb and unnecessary thing as that?

The Wrap: There's a reason Boks and All Blacks are at the big boys' table - the rest have to earn their way onto it

Hey all,
This just popped up on my feed.
I am only 20 minutes in but it has been an absolute quality discussion with Wayne Smith to this point. I wanted to share it with you all.

The Wrap: There's a reason Boks and All Blacks are at the big boys' table - the rest have to earn their way onto it

I always expected England to make a semi, given the draw, and before the squad was selected I thought Australia would too.

The Wrap: There's a reason Boks and All Blacks are at the big boys' table - the rest have to earn their way onto it

Were the roles reversed I’d probably give it more credence, yes, Pom in exile, but I’d still want some evidence for it to be acted upon. 👍

So you don’t think Finlay Christie will come on and tear the Boks a new one, then?

All excellent points and wonderful analogies (I’m fairly sure Chook would approve) but we don’t know who is quicker at replacing those tyres, do we? The Boks have more practice at that and have found innovative ways (HIA checks anyone?) to keep more tread on the big ones.
