When I was playing, for club or school or region, the only one who was allowed to speak to the referee was the Captain. Everyone else had to shut up !!!

If Eddie Jones concentrated on his own team and tactics, as much as slams everyone else; then maybe Australia could surprise a lot of the RWC fraternity.
As it stands, he has no senior, on field leadership, no definitive game plan, and I’m not sure if he knows who his best run on team is.
Which affects the bench makeup. As we all know Rugby is now a 23 man team !

I still don’t understand why Caleb Clarke is on the bench?
He can only cover one position whereas Shaun Stevenson,
Brayden Ennor, and the one I would really like to see get a run , Leicester Fainga’anuku;
can cover multiple positions, plus have greater awareness of their support players.
Great also to see Jacobsen and Anton Lienert-Brown also been given an opportunity from the bench.
But Ardie Savea as a captain? Great player but doesn’t make the right calls as Captain.
But overall, a good, young, strong team !

In NZ I had a great admiration for Dave Loveridge.
He seemed to have all the skills when he came after Chris Laidlaw, who had a great pass but seldom ran, Sid Going who could run but had an average pass.
Loveridge had it all. Passing , running box kicks.

I’m thinking that his ball distribution would be better than Jordie Barrett’s and he’s spent a year with Rieko at the Blues. I know I’ve decried Ione as a centre but we all know that he’ll be in that position come Saturday

Akira has had his whack and done nothing. Reminds me a little of the old Graham Henry, Isaia Toeava project. A fantastic young Blues player that could never quite nail it for the ABs. Akira has had his chances . Hoskins should be given more time but not if it means sacrificing Frizell, who needs more game time also. His impact up until his rib injury has been impressive and the missing cog. And the bloke that Cane needed on his shoulder.
Not sure about Cullen Grace yet. Haven’t seen enough of his play but hearing good raps.

As with Akira, Rieko has had his day at centre. I was so hoping that he would make it his position as the guy has massive attacking talent and speed, but his inability to set up his outside backs ( 15 against 13 OZ ) and his overall defense means we are still waiting for Goodhue and Lienert- Brown to return from injury and there’s no guarantee, that they will return the same players.
Caleb Clarke should go back to 7s, where running full tit anywhere in the field will almost automatically guarantee a try! Defense also non-existence.
Will Jordan also defensively wanting but can attack from any part of the field when given the ball and a yard. Wing is not his position. FB ahead of JB.
Will be interesting to see the team named for this Saturday’s Bledisloe. If it wasn’t for the horrendous season Foster has had and the need to maintain Eden Park’s 32 year record, it would be a good time to play some of the younger squad members.
So Jordie will end up at 12 when I would love RTS to be given a go. Reese should be playing as should be Leicester Fainga’anuku and Falou Fakatava.
Hopefully Frizell is fit to play. And if Cane is unavailable play Ardie at 7 and bring in Luke Jacobsen .
