Tate wasn’t selected in EJs training camp earlier this year. Now he is captain.

With 2027 in mind, 'Tough little bugger' Tate McDermott is the best pick for Wallabies captain

They seemed to be happy with SS in training, kept him on. There was always atleast 1 winger unavailable during the whole TRC campaign, Talea and LF early on. Then Narawa picked up an injury, he is still unavailable.

Barrett-less Bledisloe: Fozzie makes 12 CHANGES for Wallabies rematch, Eddie bats away 'disrespect' line

A changed up AB team make it a good contest for both sides and the fans.

'Not the time to experiment': Ex-skipper's warning to fall on deaf ears as All Blacks tipped to make mass changes

Interestingly Christy leaves out the part where Hoiles reckons there are too many Aus Super teams. He has said it multiple times in the last couple of years…

Ex-Wallaby lashes 'disgusting negativity' after Knuckles' 'bloody disaster' rant on Eddie

Given the number of kiwis that turned up at Super Round in 2022, 2023, Bled 2022 and what most likely will beat healthy Kiwi crowd tomorrow night – it seems like the ABs don’t need to do too much else ‘for the game’ in Australia.

'Tried to scrap him': Ardie's warning ahead of rendezvous with Wallabies rookie

Hence the reason why Hamish McLennan wants ABs playing Aus SR sides. To get more attention of NZ fans living in Aus which equals to more $. That’s a quick fix solution. The long term but challenging solution is ofcourse regaining and getting new Aus rugby fans which would result in $$$$$$

'Kiwis think they're better than us': Eddie turns up heat on Bledisloe rivals saying 'country sinks' when ABs lose

Actually in the same sentence when Eddie talked about NZ PM economy etc, he talked about kids playing AFL and basketball not rugby, he hopes that a win over NZ will mean more kids take up rugby. But obviously Christy Doran conveniently leaves that out from the editorial.

Well Foster lost last year, he remained and his assistants were gone….so that logic doesn’t apply does it?

Kiwi View: Beware Wallabies, the ABs have proven they're best in world at exposing half-cocked opposition

The energy in that start resembled the 2011 SF was Australia. Also coincided with Kaino -esque performance by Frizell.

Hopefully some of the other players get some game time against Australia. You can argue don’t mess with the working formula but history tells there needs to be adequate replacements. There players of good quality waiting but they need to be given opportunity to show they can play to a game plan.

There is a whiff of myth about this Springboks side - and they were badly exposed by All Blacks' coaching team

“you don’t have to be a smartarse maate, have some respect maate”

'Look out': Eddie puts All Blacks on notice despite 'broken car' Wallabies' loss to Argentina

Sorry I just had to have a crack

DMac hasn’t wasn’t subject to AB rest policy this year so he clocked up minutes. Could be likely he is being rested this match so the ABs can try a different combination in the 2nd half with subs.

All Blacks debut for Aussie-raised rookie, Mo'unga back at 10, Springboks rocked by death of captain's dad

Jordan hasn’t played full back for the ABs. Sooner or later they will have to take the punt on him at FB. They need to be brave like in 2011 Izzy Dagg got the jersey at the start of RWC. Similarly Ben Smith 1 year before 2015 RWC.

Yes that’s him. Plays for Stormers where Mannie Libbok is 10. Willemse is a very versatile player.

Eztebeth leads Boks, Willemse at 10 but Wallaby destroyer misses out altogether for All Blacks clash

I don’t think he would have been allowed to play the Super finals if he had concussion issues.
I heard it was always the plan to sit him out the Argentina test. Long haul flights cabin pressure can trigger migraines. Going to Argentina and back thats 2 flights atleast in a week. Plus if migraine is triggered it could take days until back to normal hence wasn’t worth the risk to him and the team in terms of disruption. They will risk for the RWC long flight.

'We were outstanding': All Blacks start with three tries in 12 minutes to stun Argentina

I don’t think Jordan is injured or has any concussion from the recent Super matchds. They just avoided long haul flights as precaution because that can trigger migraines.

Interesting selections. It was a bit unpredictable what they would pick given they took the entire squad to Argentina and also the constraint around Bok test the week later (6.5 days to be more accurate) plus travel etc. Seems like where possible they have given rest to Crusaders+Chiefs players. Speaking of travel, I hear long haul flights are not good for migraines hence why Jordan was rested to avoid 2x long haul flights. I think he should be ok to travel to UK/France.
I am ok with the selections. You cannot throw too many of the newbies against a dangerous Argentinean team – its still an experienced squad with pace and power to boot. The only issue is game style and cohesion (based on previous history).

McKenzie recalled, Stevenson snubbed, debutant winger named as All Blacks reveal team to face Cheika's Pumas

It really doesn’t make any difference if South Africa goes to 6nations now or not, they have to play all the nations anyway. The TRC will probably change structure from 2026 to be a Southern 6 nations with Japan and Fiji. Play each other 1x, followed by additional tests e.g. 2nd Bledisloe, mini South Africa/Arg/jap tour etc.

The skytv broadcast deal is going to end anyway by 2024. New deals will be signed and whoever pays the most will get it. NZR and RA broadcast revenue is only going up. The 6 nations are perpetually giving away 15% of their revenue to CVC, this means less revenue to participating nations. They along with CVC want to increase revenue – the Nations league is the most effective and significant way to do it without changing 6 nations i.e. not bringing in South Africa.

New 'world league' competition set to revitalise internationals from 2026

Multi billion dollar broadcast deal. The money is too good to refuse.

New 'world league' competition set to revitalise internationals from 2026

In 2018 this Nations league was proposed and rejected by Home nations unions and Italy because they feared relegation.

Agree they won’t have a say who joins the ‘southern 6’.

I think it’s about selling a more compelling product to the broadcaster rather than the current fragmented competitions, series and individual tests.
A package with 6 nations, TRC, SH and NH tests then broadcaster may prefer to pay big money over a long term rather than they all being split, having to negotiate broadcasting deal every year, as they do for the July and November internationals.

New 'world league' competition set to revitalise internationals from 2026

What’s in it for the 6nations sides to gain? Don’t they have lucrative enough 6n competition and Autumn test schedule that would be earning them enough revenue?

I’d be surprised if USA gets in, you wouldn’t want them being relegated in 2030 just before hosting RWC in 2031.

New 'world league' competition set to revitalise internationals from 2026

No at that time 6nations teams like Scotland Italy etc feared the relegation. They wanted a protected competition

Take out Posolo Tuilagi and the contest would have been more even lol. He was incredible.
I was impressed by the NZ team though, they should have lost by way more. Good comeback with 20min to go and score being 28-14. But 1 run from Tuilagi changed all the momentum that NZ built up and took the steam away.

The U20s 6nations allow the NH teams to build cohesion. France especially looked more professional. They did the basics well, lineouts, accurate kicks. NZ just shoot themselves on the foot with inaccuracies. Solid scrum from NZ but couldn’t trust their lineout, probably bombed couple of lineout drive opportunities.

The Sunday afternoon timeslot doesn’t get utilized enough. Works well for AFL and NRL.
