It looked to me he was already down and then copped a swinging arm round the neck.

Bledisloe heartbreak: Eddie's Wallabies denied by last minute Mo'unga penalty as ABs seal stunning comeback

One was a bit long, the 2nd was one phase.
The main thing the refs look for is if it was whistled straight away could a score have come from a kick and I think on both the answer is yes so no points no advantage.

Bledisloe heartbreak: Eddie's Wallabies denied by last minute Mo'unga penalty as ABs seal stunning comeback

Ref incorrectly blew early penalties against NZ which took the competition out of it and then NZs bench props were better than Aus ones.

Bledisloe heartbreak: Eddie's Wallabies denied by last minute Mo'unga penalty as ABs seal stunning comeback

Lol, the ref contributed mightily to the ABs lack of fluency in the first half and was generous not to look at 2 clear head highs by Aus in the second – the first one would have scrubbed out the penalty QC kicked to draw level can’t complain about that.
As for the free kick, WR has clearly spelled out an edict to speed up the game and Aus were warned countless times not to huddle before every line out.

Bledisloe heartbreak: Eddie's Wallabies denied by last minute Mo'unga penalty as ABs seal stunning comeback

Stevenson proved his defence not up to scratch – both tries through very passive defence on his part.
Tukiaho and Nepo average and poor throwing.
Thought Ennor looked good before injured and Leicester looked for work and came into the game more, must surely have pushed Clark out of the reckoning.
Newall I thought would be rusty after injuries but came on strong.

Bledisloe heartbreak: Eddie's Wallabies denied by last minute Mo'unga penalty as ABs seal stunning comeback

NZ can equally argue appalling refereeing – two scrum penalties early clearly from Aus props pulling back and failing to look at 2 clear head highs in 2nd half, one on Whitelock the other on Jordan I think.
Also failed to impose an offside line on the Aus defence which didn’t help.

Bledisloe heartbreak: Eddie's Wallabies denied by last minute Mo'unga penalty as ABs seal stunning comeback

So I guess this is going to be the biggest (heaviest) front row nz have ever fielded?
Even with Nepo being a poor imitation of his former self, this FR should beast the U
Aus FR.

On the plus side, McLeod coming on for ALB gives a near Crusaders back line!

Barrett-less Bledisloe: Fozzie makes 12 CHANGES for Wallabies rematch, Eddie bats away 'disrespect' line

Is Scott Barrett the best player in the world at the moment?

All Blacks smash Wallabies to seal Bledisloe AGAIN as Eddie's pain grows after devastating injury to star prop

Yep, was a matter of pride that the Crusaders didn’t concede a maul try for some seasons while he was at the (forwards) helm.

Kiwi View: The rare Boks moment that showed Wallabies where the All Blacks are vulnerable

Arg loss 3 weeks after he was appointed.

There is a whiff of myth about this Springboks side - and they were badly exposed by All Blacks' coaching team

Goodhue has been looking good in the last few weeks in the play offs and for NZ XV.

Just a quick one on selectors/coaches – have the ABs lost since Ryan and Schmidt were appointed?

There was a priceless shot of the SA coaching box after one of the mistakes – DDA cold drop I think, they looked like the were listening to their parents eulogies…

Honestly, I’ve always been in the Goldie camp with regards Savea.
He’s been largely anonymous the last 2 weeks – heavy D and some carries but he’s a weapon given 30 mins against a tiring team.

As uncomfortable as this may sound, I wonder if that may also be the solution for scooter when Whitelock is fit?

Tamaiti, Scooter, Savea and a Fakatava/Roigard off the bench with 30 to go could do some damage.

No, it is not my spin, he has demonstrated year in year out including this same fixture last year that he is the best 10 in NZ, won every match up against BB (for both Canes and Blues) and controlled the SR final (7 in a row actually) – it just takes Foster a few weeks to screw any confidence out of him

'Absolute beast mode': All Blacks bash Boks with Frizell and Jordan on fire in stirring win

Foul play trumps general play.

Very telling in the after match interviews of the BS going on with selections when RM had to say it was good to get an opportunity to show Foster he can be trusted.

Think on that for a moment.

The clearly best 10 in NZ for some years having to show a fickle coach he can be trusted rather than be given the keys and being told you’re it, get comfortable as so many others in the team far less deserving have so obviously been told.

Wow, breathless stuff.

Forwards had a belter in the first and managed to hold on by finger tips in the 2nd.

Any questions about who the no. 1 no. 10 is are now over, RM was sublime, put under pressure a few times and managed to get out, kicked well, took his try and ran the cutter well.

I still have this nagging feeling ove Talea, seems to just get chucked around a bit by the big saffas.

Huge game from Frizell and of course Jordan.

Not sure about those last two SA tries, first one looked like a well forward pass, second one can’t see Kwagga was ever on side nor was the ball out.

Interesting to see the Frog ref allowing the SA forwards to “swim” around the side of a ruck to put pressure on the half back – they’ll want to get clarity on that and ensure the opposition in the NH is on side – dubious off side line in the second half too, allowed SA to be well ahead in the last 25.

Clark shouldn’t even be in this conversation…

Kiwi View: Let’s not get ahead of ourselves - Foster gamble could be exposed by smart Boks ploy

Yeah, Blues forwards are conspicuous both in the ABs and their absences…

LF owned the breakdown in the wide channels in the playoffs, would be interested to see stats on rucks attended and ruck turnovers and of course won the final turnover that put the Chiefs away.

10 tries last season (along with WJ and SR as well) and 13 this year from memory while also getting big results at the breakdown is gold.

Kiwi View: Let’s not get ahead of ourselves - Foster gamble could be exposed by smart Boks ploy

When the heat came on end of SR season MT went missing.
There was a lot of commentary after the SF that MT did his prospects harm in that game and that’s the highest pressure he’s been in this year until this weekend.
Cant comment too much on EN other than the games I watched he was in he didn’t stand out much.

As for all round work rate, LF is streaks ahead of both but unfortunately injured still.
His work at the tackle and off the ball is immense and topped the try scoring tallies 2 years running.

Kiwi View: Let’s not get ahead of ourselves - Foster gamble could be exposed by smart Boks ploy

Yep, really want to see WJ at 15 for a decent stretch, I suspect that’s why Clark is on the bench, Talea is a whippet and frankly I thought he’s lucky considering he went MIA in the SR SF and clearly fits in the “finishers” category of wingers rather than “workers”.

Kiwi View: Let’s not get ahead of ourselves - Foster gamble could be exposed by smart Boks ploy

They’ve got two whippets on the wings and no bulk.
I suspect you may see WJ move to 15 at some stage in the second half allowing Clark on to try and power through some fading defence.

All Blacks debut for Aussie-raised rookie, Mo'unga back at 10, Springboks rocked by death of captain's dad

I think you’ll find that is a mistake.

Neither of them are naturals in their position (or at least played there their whole career) so they are still learning.

ALB is probably verging on cashing in and Havili is out, been mentioned on this thread already but Goodhue is looking good now and his distribution on Sat was World class.
