Almost Don, Whiteman and Hardie did their job so well. With Warner approaching the end of his career, selectors would have to be very excited with Whiteman’s effort. The beauty of Whiteman is he put a high price on his wicket when the stakes were massive in both innings. He can also throw the bat if required. Hardie was excellent too. I hope the English selectors don’t try to get Whiteman in particular, or Hardie being they were were both born in England.

WA edge closer to long-awaited Shield win

Yeah naaah. It is about pats on the back, mates and not about home truths. This will burn Australia. Warner is old, past it, has history and is vermin. It would have been better to say goodbye to him. Australia had a shocking culture and Warner is the only bad apple still there but with no Langer to harness it.

What’s your batting average?

What is that word I am looking for…mutiny, that’s it. CA will fall on their swords pandering to the everyone gets a trophy brigade that can’t handle discipline.

I see and respect your point Chip. I believe his batting improved dramatically late in the series. Once he got some time in the middle he looked comfortable as number 6. I think he would get a gig for any test team in the world right now.

No worries thanks, I respect your opinion ????

'The boys have my back': Khawaja reveals how much Cummins' champagne gesture meant to him

Hi Chip are you an English selector?Usman had a wonderful Sydney test but Hobart was terrible. One swallow doesn’t make a summer and his fielding wasn’t all that flash either. Green would be one of the first picked in my opinion. Incidentally Green got Malan in the first innings too but Cummins didn’t review. Australia were staring down the barrel until Green’s spell in the 2nd innings knocking over 3 top order batsmen. Green would possibly have done serious damage if he had got his hands on the brand new ball. The fact that Lyon was not needed is testament to his bowling.

What about the T20, did we forget that or was that a fluke?

'Let's cut through the crap': Cummins in spotlight for failure to throw considerable weight behind Langer

OK 1/3 of the world celebrates Christmas but in the western world which I believe covers Australia, that number is far greater. I didn’t imply you say Merry Christmas to Muslims. If 1 person is allergic to crayfish, we should not all stop eating it. Cummins, Usman and team showed how it can be done.

You can’t be mates with the Coach. Players should have zero say in who the Coach is. The players job is to play cricket. Results have spoken for themselves. I dread Langer coaching against Australia which is precisely what will happen if the players have any say. Right now it is not broken so don’t try and fix it.

Dentshop, respectfully no way should there have been a non-alcoholic champagne to throw around. Usman was included later and as reported he was happy. If people are sensible like Cummins, Labaschagne and Head to encourage Usman to join and Usman was happy to join, what better messages can be conveyed to respect differences in religion. Everyone was a winner and you don’t have a division between cultures. It is a bit like this Happy Holidays nonsense instead of Merry Christmas. and no-one lost anything. Muslims incidentally are not asking anyone to not say Merry Christmas so stop people from being happy and ultimately divide by making Merry Christmas disappear. Over correction cause division. Back to the original comment all those “men” can be very proud of how they carried themselves, it was a great example of leadership.

The ECB should review every player and lay down the law that they follow the Captain or walk out the door.

'He's been titanic': Cummins names player of the series, targets world No.1 ranking and reflects on Ashes 'madness'

Sheek they hoo haaed Border’s team which was the beginning of a dynasty, after an initial unexpected series win. Apart from Smith and Lab and the current bowling line up, this Australian team will continue to gel under Cummins. Carey, Green, Head and mew found bowling depth will thrive in this positive environment. Teams with ability, belief and that enjoy the game are incredibly hard to stop.

You’re are right Mooty, that one really hot chance Green dropped defininitely cancelled out all the brilliant fielding he did for the series. He is probably a bowling all rounder that seems to get a key wicket everytime he gets the ball in his hand, despite being “well managed”. He can certainly bat and will deliver soon but should be dropped anyway to protect people who get a bit paranoid about parochial West Australians.
Don’t despair because Mitch Marsh is banging the door down for selection.

DAY 3 REPORT: 'That's why we love sport'! - Boland delivers Ashes with insane figures of 6-7

I totally agree with you Pete.

Who is the most annoying player in the AFL?

You forgot Oliver’s haircut.

Who is the most annoying player in the AFL?

I am a WCE supporter but regardless of that Stephen Hill was a credit to footy and himself. A very skilful and fair player.

Racism is unacceptable no question.
Totally offensive language on TV is acceptable but that’s OK?
Forgiveness is unacceptable also it seems? Who where’s it when a person makes a horrible mistake and is pressured into taking their life due to the inhuman act of not forgiving.

Why Taylor Walker’s apology isn't enough

That’s a bit freaky, I was sceptical of that sort of stuff until my late mum went to see a clairvoyant after taking the death of her parents in quick succession very hard. Mum was asked for some jewellery by the clairvoyant. Mum handed her a ring. The clairvoyant then asked Mum if she was ill. Mum said no, never felt better. The clairvoyant hands started shaking and she specifically mentioned Parkinson’s disease. Mum said she did not have Parkinson’s and the clairvoyant asked Mum if it was her jewellery. Mum said it was handed down by her Mother who suffered chronic Parkinson’s . That was followed by a series of facial expressions and comments from the clairvoyant including calling my Mum “girlie” which is what her father called her when he had serious things to say. I don’t get it but I believe.

Which is scariest at night, Port Adelaide or Frankston?

Scott is a bloody good coach. Gets more out of the list than you would expect. He has the ability to get the most out of average players and the cream on top is some aging A graders that are managed well. I reckon if he got Melbourne or Freo’s list he would get them a flag on the future.

I thought the Eagles banked a couple of draft picks for next years and it was all about Cripps. Not phased either way but now believe resigning Brander and keeping Rotham, Williams and Allen long term is far higher priority. Those kids all look terrific.

Five talking points from AFL Round 8

I agree but I think he is heading west. I am not sure how it all works but JK and Hurn pending retirements could free up a bit of coin?

Patrick Cripps mind is already at WCE where he will be playing next year.
