Good point, no point having a different style of it doesn’t actually do anything positive

Anderson hails England's 'superhuman' Root

I feel like a lot of modern English players are trying to create their own ‘unique’ techniques like Smith but a majority of the time it just becomes a problem

What are people’s opinions on who should take over from him after the UAE?

Ravi Shastri: India's man for all seasons

If one things for certain there will definitely be a lot of quality fast bowlers on show; each team could easily field their second string attack and still get a good result

England can win the Ashes. Maybe

Honestly I’m really disappointed by the lack of communication between BCB and CA for this series. Settled in for a fun night late-night cricket only to find out my hour of searching for a broadcaster was in vain.

How to watch Bangladesh play Australia and why it's not on Fox Sports

Good points but it’s not like JL is a novice, he had a lot of success with the Scorchers before taking off ver the national side

Aussie cricket's next step forward isn't in players, but coaches

Gilchrist in 2007 was actually pretty average for most the tournament and his only knock of real significance was on the final. Could easily replace him with someone like Rohit Sharma (2019) or Brendan McCullem (2015) if you wanted an aggressor

An ODI team of World Cup heroes

Good point, and one that I agree with. I was just suggesting that it might be a good chance to experiment, like we should have done against the Kiwis

They pretty much could make it First-class

World T20 reschedule could spell disaster for Aussies' Ashes preparation

This will be an interesting way for us to gauge Cricket Australia’s current priorities between formats and tournaments. The South Africa-New Zealand schedule clash and the different squads that were selected showed that selectors still have their heart in the right place for the time being. However, this being a World Cup compared to a minnow warm-up match they might have some separate ideas.
Personally I think that they are going to have to send their best squad to the World Cup, which involves several multi-format players who may or may not make the teams. They should think this through very carefully and on an individual basis. For example, players like Cummins, Warner and Smith are a certainty to be selected in a best XI while others like Hazelwood, Green and Labuschagne would not be as much as a certainty. The latter players should stay back and focus on red-ball while players have proven to be able to adapt between formats easily can go and skip the Afghan Test.
It might even be a good thing if we don’t field a best XI against the Afghans so that it would be more of an even contest. A full-strength Aussie team would easily steam-roll them because of their lack of red-ball and it would be a good idea to blood some younger players into the side. If it wasn’t in Tassie, I would even suggest resting Paine and giving someone like Carey or Ingles a go, with someone like Head or Labuschagne at the reins.
Should be interesting to see what eventuates

Easy mistake, the Windies match didn’t have a lot of publicity and even the commentators got it wrong.

England batting spells disaster as Black Caps win series

Will Young actually debuted against the Windies last December, this was his third match

Honestly sometimes I like that commentators are more relaxed with their commentary and that they are not just mechanically spewing out stats and information

Some gentle advice for commentators

Yeah, I think so too, he deserves a chance after a pretty good shield campaign

Who should bat at five for Australia in the Ashes?

honestly I think their success depends on their main player’s commitment, AB and du Plessis cant just walk back to the international set-up without doing some non-franchise cricket beforehand

My IPL team of the tournament so far

There are a few small errors in this otherwise good article: Amit Mishra is not Delhi’s skipper (Rishabh Pant is) and Mitch Marsh never went to India, instead staying home with family

The reason I did a half-way point one was because I wasn’t sure about how far we would get into the rest of the tournament. If we do finish it then I will do another one

Alex Carey was potentially but in the squad not only as a keeper but as a middle-order batsmen, he bats at 5 for SA and could probably to it for Australia

Who should bat at five for Australia in the Ashes?

He hasn’t done that well in the ipl so far against stronger opposition

Ranking Australia's ten best T20 international cricketers

You are right, a few solid seasons to build up his career could totally boost his chances for a future test spot. Apart from Street there are not a lot of quality ‘young’ players so I wouldn’t be surprised if SA and Australia invest some time into his development
