Inglis and Peirson have potential, but Phillipe is unproven (yet). If all the noise about Carey being a future captain is gonna happen then he should get in the team as soon as possible!

Cummins should be skip, Carey take the gloves. Smith isn’t captain material and his poor test form (at least by his standards) should be his focus. Inglis has potential but I feel like JL will go with Carey because of his experience and leadership, especially in Adelaide. Captaincy was the one thing keeping Paine on the team, he’s a scrappy batter and behind the stumps he’s been going downhill. Helped get us through a tough time but his tenure should now be going. The Barmies will go absolutely ballistic if he plays, should probs go on a witness relocation program to get away. But seriously. Of all people. Just not acceptable

You would think that JL wouldn’t change the bowling first match, unless a niggle or need for a rest is required from the WC. Adelaide would be the same regardless of g1 result: Starc is the pink panther of test cricket. You would think by Perth though some change would occur

I don’t get why at this point Jyhe Richardson is being seriously considered by nearly everyone. While he is a class bowler who definitely had a career in the test arena, he could barely get through a shield game and even then he tired quickly

I enjoy watching women’s cricket as much as the men’s, but the main problem I find is the streaming quality itself. How am I supposed to watch the ‘world’s best’ when the video is grainy and the commentators voice cuts more than Alastair Cook. International matches are mostly fine, but Wbbl and Wncl are pretty inconsistent. Don’t even get me started on how most overseas matches aren’t even telecast at all….

I once heard Lisa Sthalekar talking about how it would be good if whenever an tour happens there is at one test match alongside the white ball fixtures. Series with 2,3,4 matches are likely to never happen, but one per tour amounts to 3-5 in a year.

He’s also the most experienced and proven member of their squad, he’s shown in the past that he capable of coming back after a few low scores. I’m not saying that he should walk right back in, but if given the chance again then he will most likely cash back in.

I think people people have beaten him up a little extensively when it comes to his form; his strike rate was disappointing in the first half but then again so was the rest of the teams. He nearly got them over the line against RCB, but lacked support. I just think that SRH have thrown him under the bus a little and exaggerated his form slump

Sunrisers are showing absolute disrespect to easily their greatest overseas signing ever. He’s been there for them whenever the whole time (baring suspension) and has constantly delivered. A few bad games and they throw him out the window. In the modern era, he still has at least 5-6 years on his career if he commits. If the English system is so infatuated with Bairstow and Buttlers batting, then they should just bat them at 5,6,7. I value quality keeping over hit or miss batting in a Test match everyday of the week.

For me the CPL is the most lacklustre and inconsistent tournament; one day a team will make 200+ followed by being bowled out for sub 100 in the next

Because of this we should in turn deploy a team that is very capable of spin so Carey is a good option for 6
