If Parra loose and the chooks win they would jump to 5th as they both sit on 32 points. Having said that they may want to stay in 6th to play Newcastle and assuming a win there a likely rematch with Souths to garner retribution.

Hi John. I can understand your frustration given the year the Roosters have had. I do like banter but genuine dislike is hard for me get my head around especially this “feud”. I was extremely deflated after Friday night with Manus injury and the way everything played out. Absolutely would love all players, but especially Souths players to show the utmost sportsmanship. It does seem to be the exception though.
However I think your response to Big Migg and then acknowledgement that you shouldn’t have reacted that way, especially when time permitted for reading and typing and subsequently posting, shows that when emotion boils over rationally goes out the window. We are all guilty of it.
I think Mitchel did initially show concern for Manu when he put his hand to his cheek but then as the melee progressed and words were exchanged his anger built and he became that boorish person no one really likes.
Hopefully Manu can make a full recovery and comes back bigger and better next year when the bunnies and chooks can continue a friendly rivalry although that might be wishful thinking when these young athletes allow emotion to get the better of them.

I’d say the Newcastle side today was stronger than our reserve grade side, which beat close to a first grade St George side in the second half of the Charity Shield. Notwithstanding the injuries and players out I would still call that a pretty good improvement.

They have beaten Souths once each year in 4 of the past 5 years so you never know. Have a soft spot for the doggies with my late father in law following them. While I do hope Souths win it does pain me to se them play like they are. Fingers crossed it’s a cracking game – and no injuries.

No comment is not an admission of guilt. Of the 4 jury’s i have been lucky enough to to serve on the prosecution’s main witnesses on two of them, who both swore they saw an alleged assault in one case and sale of drugs in the second were both found out by the defence.
In the assault case the witness was adamant he saw the defendant commit the assault. It was found that where he was when he claimed to have witnessed it didn’t not have sight lines to where the assault occurred. The second the witness claimed he saw the defendant selling drugs from a vehicle that the defendant didn’t own or have possession of until 1 month after the alleged offence. The defence produced the bill of sale and receipts for transport of the vehicle interstate that this was fact.
Maybe I am influenced by the fact that the police charged and the the DPP proceeded with the prosecution but had no answer or alternative to these facts.
Just because he wouldn’t engage with a newspaper and confirm or deny proves nothing however if this occurs in a court of law and he won’t deny it then I will happily agree with you. I won’t be part of a trial by media or a lynch mob.

Mate read the article as well as other ancillary documentation. I agree they have the script written by the Dr to Hooke as well as the credit card receipt for payment by Hooke as evidence. But they havent linked that to Burgess apart from Hooke’s stating that it was administered to him by the Dr. on this basis it remains he said/he said which is not proof enough for me to convict.

I did read it. It is alleged that the Doctor met the father in law at the house (halfway up the stairs) and told him he had to fill a script. He wrote the script (on the stairs?) in the FIL’s name.
The FIL knew it was wrong and stated even his limited knowledge of the law felt it wasn’t right. ( given he was CEO of the mineral council I believe he would be well versed in legal matters and he is trying to minimise his involvement) He felt he had to do it so filled the script. He wasn’t going to be part of the cover up but was happy enough to be involved in filling the script when he shouldn’t have and didn’t say anything for over a year until they permanently split and were to divorcee.
So in fact the FIL was complicit in the alleged cover up. Again you want to make assumptions which is why you have already convicted him.
What I said if you want to read it closely and not rely on your biased position is “could the doctor have issued the script for the FIL” and now claims it was Burgess. Is this not possible.
Unlike you I want to see the evidence before conviction. I don’t want to be part of the lynch mob mentality. If however it is proven that he did assault his wife and Souths did cover up something then I will be behind you with the pitchforks and advocating a metaphorical lynching.

But then you really show your true self. To go and describe my post as not showing due respect to you given your comment to Cather and your opinions of Burgess ( which are alleged at present) smacks of hypocrisy. Perhaps you should consider your own impudence before making such statements.
My opinion was that you lacked empathy in regards to the death of Sams father ( and anyone who has lost a loved one and then is affected by it) and the potential impact this may have had on a Young man. Nothing more. But I guess you’ve got the attitude that we all loose someone so toughen up and get over it. Talk about an attitude from the past century.
I mean you have probably never felt that attitudes are stuck in the past and not moved with the times have you.
Then you sarcastically outline how you can imagine how bad it would have been without Brother and his mother. So what you are saying is that because Sam overcame a challenging time in his life that that period would not have had an effect on him later in life.
Then the bitterness you show in describing Burgess career and the money he earns is interesting. Not sure that all the money in the world makes any difference but shows perhaps your jealousy on his success and well says more about you than him. Even a reused cliche remains valid when the shoe fits. How’s that for cliches.

Sarcasm Mick I get it. I am not excusing the alleged behaviour but how many of us who experience death in the family as a 15 year old who, after his parents split up, decided to stay with his father to look after him during his battle with this insidious disease knowing his father would die.
How many have to take their father from his bed daily to cook them meals and then take them back upstairs again to put them bed all while still attending training to become an elite athlete.
Your lack of empathy for this and the impact this would have on a young man says more about you than Cathar. One would expect more from a Roar Guru.

No. What I am saying is that’s it’s convenient that the person in whose name a script was written then is claiming it was for another party with whom he Hasan AVO against and his daughter is divorcing.
Could it be that the doctor simply issued him a script which is nothing to do with Burgess.?

Gray Hand . Let me ask you a question from the above. You indicated the story is about Souths covering up a criminal act. What is the act you are referring to – is it the cover up of the drug testing by Souths where they are alleged to have done a test in the car park out of the sight of cameras or the Souths doctor writing scripts to Burgess in false names?

Then let the paper produce them so we can see them or do they only have prescriptions in other names with the testimony of Phoebe Burgess that they were Sam burgess’. Show us the copies and the linking evidence that this is in fact occurred.

Maybe not but Initially we saw a video of Reynolds going off his chops and if I recall most jumped to an incorrect conclusion and were ready to convict on that. It became apparent in due course the lady involved was not telling the truth and was manipulating Reynolds to get what she wanted
In this regard, apart from the news paper article, what evidence is there. I am yet to see any evidence of the alleged fake scripts or drugs etc. When that is provided then we can condemn him and Souths.
It might be noted this AVO was year ago and his wife was due to discuss this with the police in Nov 2019 but we are only just hearing about this now. If Phoebe Burgess provided such evidence at that time then why has the been charged?

Nice try to impart your bias against Souths but it wasn’t the bunnies abusing officials, refs and pushing cameramen ( or should that be cameraperson). Clearly the Roosters were the ones (apart from Latrell) who had the meltdown. Just as they did in the first round.
And no- for the roosters to have any chance of playing Souths they would need to finish 6th therefore loose against the Raiders gifting the opportunity for the Green machine to progress.
