Lack of assertiveness from Herbert and Waugh too. Have not heard any specifics from Waugh on building the game, just corporate nonsense speak. Haven’t heard a word from Herbert. Booting McLennan was a big mistake.

RA reeling and facing a mass exodus of biggest stars - there are three key reasons why they're in peril

I am very fearful of the weak leadership that has replaced McLennan. I fear we are heading back to the Cameron Clyne / Raelene Castle days where the game slowly declines with no strong moves. Hated a lot of what McLennan said but he was strong and decisive.

'Shame on the plodders': Hamish blasts RA 'boneheads' as Harvey Norman deal ends - but founder denies link to axing

This is a sad day. Faceless board members getting their way. McLennan was divisive but he made bold decisions and pulled RA out of the financial hole it was in. Cadbury, Channel 9, RWC 2027. Some great achievements.

He would come out publicly to promote and defend the sport like no one else.

Guarantee this begins a further financial decline for the sport. Anyone who tries to properly fix the game (centralisation) seems to be attacked by self-interested parties.

Very disillusioned supporter today.

'What a shame': McLennan GONE as Rugby Australia name World Cup-winner chairman to bookend wild year

Delusional. The players look like they have no idea what they are doing out there. Most players have regressed this year

'Coaching staff is outstanding': Eddie assistant's bold call on 'eclectic' crew - despite their smash and grab flop

Thank god we rested all those Wallabies during the super rugby season!

The Wrap: With Wallabies done and dusted in 15 miserable days, who do we trust to take Australian rugby forward?

I thought Fa’amausili was excellent. He will be a good back up for Tupou. He didn’t look out of place against the ABs

Wallabies player ratings: Young forwards fire but key players struggle in Bledisloe heartache

Agree. Also, we need more good defenders in the backline. Gordon miles better than Cooper in defence

Comment: Jones should go bold and pick young halves against All Blacks for MCG Bledisloe

Wallabies look like they could have one “edge” in time for RWC. The maul. Pick Skelton and a big pack and work on strategies around that.

The Wrap: A dozen reasons why the Wallabies can’t win the World Cup - and a couple why they might

Good changes. I’d prefer L.Lonregan over Uelese. Uelese has never delivered. He’s had enough chances.

CONFIRMED: 34-man Wallabies squad for Bledisloe series against All Blacks as trio axed in shake-up

Absolutely spot on 👍

'It's a marathon': Wallabies not panicking as Kerevi puts hand up to start against Cheika's Pumas

After 2015, I said the Wallabies had peaked and would have a long period of pain. This is honestly the best squad we have had since then. We will be fine. Don’t write us off.

'It's a marathon': Wallabies not panicking as Kerevi puts hand up to start against Cheika's Pumas

Fair analogy but I am actually optimistic and I think there is a path to the summit. I think the loss needs some perspective:
1) That was not a SA B side. 6 of the rested SA players are stars, the others are not absolute 1st choice starters. Plus SA has enormous depth.
2) The scrum will not go backwards like that when Tupou and Bell return. They are the best props in the country.
3) With a stable scrum, we will not be on the back of a 12-3 penalty count plus two yellow cards.
4) Kerevi at 12 changes our attacking structure.
5) The first test was always going to be our worst performance. We will build cohesion.
I put $50 on the Wallabies to win the RWC and am not cashing out yet!

The Wrap: Like Hillary at Everest Base Camp, Eddie Jones has a mountain ahead of him

Keep the faith, Eddie. This was always going to be our most disjointed performance of the year. Worst thing to do would be to make mass changes.
Hodge and Uelese out. Otherwise, keep building cohesion. Tupou and Bell will be big additions when they are fit. If this squad stays together, we will be much stronger by France. Get behind them.

'Disaster': Wallabies hammered by Boks as Eddie Jones' return falls flat

Nawaqanitawase has played himself out of a wallaby jersey in the last two weeks. Donaldson is dreadful…

'Embarrassed': Hooper's farewell falls flat as horrific Tahs smashed in momentum-killer ahead of quarter

Good article. Statistically, Teddy has fallen off a cliff since 2021. He has played in every game since 2017. In the last 7 origin games he has: 3 try assists, 0 tries, 2 line breaks, 15 tackles made. The 6 origin games prior he had: 5 try assists, 4 tries, 27 tackles made. He has become a liability for NSW.

We need to talk about Teddy: Why a Game 2 defeat might spell the end for the Blues captain in Origin

A big step backwards for Nawaqanitawase. I had him starting at 14 for the Wallabies but he drops back a few rungs after that performance. Also, it’s actually become critical that the Tahs get Donaldson out of the side. They have to hide him in defence and his attack is so predictable because he never takes the line on and always passes. Tahs have three better 10 options than him.

Waratahs licking their wounds as Jorgensen injury adds to Crusaders reality check

I’m a tahs supporter and cannot understand the Donaldson selection. The tahs are a much more threatening outfit with Harrison or Edmed at 10. I hope they ignore Eddie’s selection and drop donaldson

Wallabies winners and losers: Eddie has gone away from Rennie's 'form' principle and backed his eye

I’m a tahs supporter but Carter Gordon is the best 10 prospect in the country. He should be blooded now

Life after Cooper: Wallabies' 2024 gameplan development starts now

Players who impressed: Jake Gordon, Angus Bell, Nick Frost, Tom Wright, Solomone Kata, Rob Valentini, Sitaleki Timani, Tate McDermott, Harry Wilson, Suliasi Vunivalu, George Worth.

Players who were unimpressive: Joe Powell, Matt To’omua, James Turner, Jack Whetton, Will Harris, Ryan Lonregan, Scott Sio, Bryce Hegarty, Hamish Stewart.

What to look for when the hope disappears so quickly

Well said. There should be fewer games for Super Rugby too. Super 12 was great. 11 games each. Super rugby became meaningless with too many teams and games.

Less is more for Test rugby in a post-pandemic world
