Like your optimism. But Australia can not win the trophy with the team they have selected.
Just few surprises.. Maxwell IN and JFM OUT ! Marsh injured. Warner out of form. Starc leaking runs and so on. However I liked the fact they kept Smith out.

T20 World Cup: Marsh named captain, Smith and Fraser-McGurk miss out

You are cruel .. Sir.. for South Africa (who of course won’t win)

Who takes such decisions in CA ? Is it one man or a committee of members ?

CA steps in to stop rising star from taking up county stint due to workload concerns

Correct me if I am wrong. I don’t recall Rashid Khan ever declaring that he disagrees with his governments’ policy.

Australia postpone Afghanistan series again due to 'conditions for women and girls getting worse'

This is a little bit odd and smacks of hypocrisy. If CA / Aus Govt really care; then the isolation of Afghan Cricket should be all pervasive and Afghani players should not be taken into BBL.

Agree that Scotty is bowling beautifully and deserves a recall into 11. But he is not young; in fact he is older than all the three musketeers.

Round 10 Sheffield Shield wrap – Who's hitting their stride ahead of the big final?

My personal take … For me, this March team, somehow, feels inadequate. There is no spinner ( Due respect to the allrounder Shakib). Honourable mentions miss many great players. Nasser Hussain of England, for one, would be my choice for the skipper. Eknath Solkar, the finest fielder and a more than useful allrounder from India misses even the honourable mention list.

This lad seems to have mighty impressed Ricky Ponting. And on Ponting’s recommendation, he has managed entry into DC IPL team.
Is he that good ? if so, why he is not seen regularly in National teams ?

'As much talent as Warner coming through': Ponting's big call as Fraser-McGurk gets late IPL contract

Every Aussie rated from first Test vs New Zealand: Green and GOAT great, Marnus misery as batting woes deepen

I would like to rate as under :

Steven Smith- 3.5
Usman Khawaja- 6.0
Marnus Labuschagne-0.5
Cameron Green-9.5
Travis Head 3.5
Mitchell Marsh-5.5
Alex Carey-3.0
Mitchell Starc-4.0
Pat Cummins (c)- 3.5
Nathan Lyon-9.0
Josh Hazlewood –5.5

NZs chances of an unlikely win now rest on Rachin Ravindra, who played beautifully today. This rockstar of a lad continues to shine in all formats .
Aussie batting performance is a wake up call for the selectors for identifying, grooming and keeping ready new talent. Many of today’s stars may not last for even a year.

Black Caps dare to dream of epic comeback win after Australia's brittle batting exposed by part-time spinner

What a horror show by Marnus ? He is into a disaster zone. And I have already said enough about Smith.

Not clear why follow on was not enforced. Tired bowlers ?

Green shoots Aussies to big lead, but Smith's duck and Marnus' all time low give Kiwis a glimmer of hope

Your take on David Warner was a little cruel. Ok. Smith and Marnus; don’t know how long they will be able to keep their places. Travis Head’s form being haywire ( some times sublime and match winning and lately many times pathetic ) is becoming a major concern.
Smith, specially should retire immediately and gracefully. I still maintain that he doesn’t deserve a place in any format team and his selection for the test team that too for the opener’s slot defies all logic.

Aussie batters grow complacent in cocoon of comfort created by gun-shy selectors - but at least Green finally blossoms

Very important knock by Cam Green. Aussies just managing to put up a decentish score by the end of the day.

Green stands tall with breakthrough ton while wickets tumble as Aussies crumble against Black Caps pace attack

The ongoing Indo-English cricket series – Are you saying that this is not test cricket !?
If so then, sorry. Your thinking is rubbish.

Aussies lock in XI for first NZ Test as Cummins mulls big toss call

oH! That’s cruel !

Bazball beaten: Indian young guns' nerveless stand aces chase, ensures Poms' first series loss under McCullum

An absorbing match. India won because they truly believed they can and they were lead by Rohit, that selfless astute leader of men who made a telling contribution with the bat also. Indian batters didn’t panic at the crunch moments and the magnificent Ashwin and Kuldeep were miles ahead of the English spinners ( no disrespect to Bashir and Hartley, both bowling very well).
This test match also brought out a new star out of the TV umpire, the affable Joel Wilson who had an outstanding match. His analysis, deduction and verdicts based on TV replays were perfect.

Didn’t see anything on reprimanding Crawley for his obnoxious behaviour towards the on field umpire. He deserves suspension for a game or two along with monetary fine.

'Take away umpire's call': Stokes bleats about DRS after India thrash appalling England by record margin

Yes Sir ! I have seen the selection and it’s quite a team . Great deserving legends in the team. I was thinking Vishy in place of Azharuddin but then Azharuddin, in addition to a magnificent batsman, is also one of India’s all time finest fielders !
Further, I believe the flamboyant Farokh Engineer is a better keeper than ABD ( especially with Jim Laker being in this team). However, ABD for sure is a far better batsman.
My congratulations on your team which is a fantastic one.

Team of the Month: a January-born World Cricket XI

Well rounded win for India to square the series 1-1. It must have come as a relief to them after their stunning reversal in the first test. The standout performer in this match is Jasprit Bumrah, even though there were many notable performances from both sides. Jaiswal, Gill, Patel, Ashwin, Yadav from India and Anderson, Crawley, Hartley and Foakes from England; they all made telling contributions.

Bazbawl: Bairstow barks back in fiery exchange with Ashwin, Stokes commits schoolboy error as India sink England

Serious all-round performance by Sean Abbott.

Triple threat Abbott steps out of Big Three's shadow with all-round excellence to save Australia's bacon against Windies

India had a productive day and they now lead by a healthy 171 runs. Bumrah’s 6 wickets is his best showing in India and this does no harm to his ever growing reputation of once in a generation player.

What should be India’s score / lead for a declaration in 4th Innings, good enough for a win in this test match ? is it 350 or 400 ?. The pitch is still playing even.

Jaiswal, not Bazball: Indian opener's blistering century brings England back down to earth

Comfortable win for the hosts and a fine debut for Xavier Bartlett. But is it time we start worrying about Travis Head’s form ?

Green makes most of promotion but questions remain over best spot as Bartlett's burst propels Aussies to victory

Earlier there used to be a 3 Nation ODI series in Australia almost every year. Can this concept be revived ? If not possible in Australia ; can this be held in any other country ?

ODI cricket needs football-style World Cup qualification, not more boring bilateral snoozefests

Smith forced himself to open the innings in Test cricket since that’s the only way he could continue to keep his his place in Test team. He had struggled, lately, in the middle order position and his position in the team was becoming untenable. Don’t know how long he continues in the opener position. Has looked very uncomfortable and unsure so far except the last innings against WI ( however he couldn’t score faster to ensure Aussie victory as he was busy playing for himself to put up a decent score to protect his place in the team).

He should retire immediately from all forms of cricket. This will definitely benefit Australian Cricket.

Smith delivers timely response to 'average' critics who don't think he's an opener
