The game's gone soft! Too many footballers like "Boy George" and not enough like "George Rose". What an athlete! #BringBackTheBiff #AuditRoostersNow!

@ Forty Twenty and bazza200

The Sharks have already announced that John Morris and Jim Dymock will share the coaching role in 2019. Apparently, the Sharks need to upgrade their amenities and buy better garden furniture before Baz will consider bringing his circus to the shire.

Don’t blame the NRL for your club’s bad deeds

Do you REALLY think that’s amusing or are you “just being Randy”?

Don’t blame the NRL for your club’s bad deeds

@ Admiral Ackbar

“Even if they went to Perth I don’t think the locals would get behind them, the Rabbitohs have done more for the game over here.”

As a long-time Rabbitohs supporter, I would be interested in your view as you reside in Perth, about whether the Rabbitohs would be welcomed in Perth and if WA could get behind a relocated Sydney team? More to the point, as it appears they are growing a significant following of loyal supporters in Perth, is there ANY chance that the Rabbitohs could be accepted by locals if they did NOT rebrand and kept their colours, name and emblem, the South Sydney Rabbitohs?

For a while now I have felt that the Rabbitohs have been deliberately promoting their brand and building a following in Perth as a potential “Plan B” to avoid an NRL enforced merger or having to face being punted from the competition once again. Also, which team do you support and would you consider following a team that was relocated to Perth over your current team?

“The Sharks are drowning. It’s now obvious why Valentine Holmes has gone to America”

Do you think someone told him, “it’s a trap!” Bahahahahahahahaha

Don’t blame the NRL for your club’s bad deeds

Support for the game does not exist in Adelaide but it does in Perth. Perth and another team either west or north of Brisbane are the two obvious and logical choices for expansion.

Mind you, they could free up a spot straight away if the NRL (National Rugby League) made it a truly NATIONAL competition and punted the New Zealand Warriors. If the shoe was on the other foot do you think the Kiwis would hesitate to do the same to the only Australian team playing in a New Zealand domestic competition?

Build a wall. Make Rugby League great again! Bahahahahahahaha

“the manhate narrative simmering away”

Unfortunately, you will find that narrative permeates the western mainstream media and the minority voice that is the loudest is heard over the voiceless majority. So much for democracy.

Don’t blame the NRL for your club’s bad deeds

Even more ironic that the Storm lost the 2016 premiership to the Sharks who were over the cap! Now THAT’s poetic justice!

Don’t blame the NRL for your club’s bad deeds

“Nathan did not win any grand final, he lost to the storm period.”

Because the Storm cheated, period! THAT is Robert Szemeti’s point. I remember the closing stages of that GF and some VERY dodgy calls late in the game that cost the Eels the outright win on the day as well.

Forget the semantics, if a past premiership winner gets caught cheating and gets stripped of their premiership hand the title to the other Grand Finalist. Also, as someone here suggested and I posted on another site before then, bring in compulsory intensive salary cap audits of all Grand Finalists.

Don’t blame the NRL for your club’s bad deeds

Remind me again, WHAT exactly were the penalties imposed on the Broncos for Andrew Gee’s “brown paper bag giveaway” in the Broncos HQ parking lot? Or did they get off scott free?

Don’t blame the NRL for your club’s bad deeds

Irony only confuses me AJ. Just like the idea of thinking outside the box and opening ones mind to a paradigm shift in thinking confuses most of the “follow the leader lemmings” on this site.

Remember, the NRL may not be the architects of this situation but they are certainly opportunistic enough to take advantage of the chance to break the stalemate by removing 2 of the 9 Sydney based clubs from the competition which have prevented the opportunity for expansion.

Don’t blame the NRL for your club’s bad deeds

Regardless of whether you believe or not that I have a family with 3 females in my life that does not change the veracity of that statement and there are at least two people currently posting on this site who know that to be the truth.

Secondly, I don’t know which statement of mine you are referring to but regardless, leave my family out of your attacks or using them as a cheap shot against me, simple.

Finally, have the guts to confirm which team YOU support instead of taking pot shots from the shadows, I’m guessing it’s the Roosters.

When the chooks are finally brought to justice and are playing by the same rules as the other 15 clubs in the NRL I will stop my “rants”. Until then, if you don’t like reading my opinions, I suggest you skip ahead and don’t read them. I’ll never know and it wouldn’t bother me in the slightest even if I did. Clear?

Don’t blame the NRL for your club’s bad deeds

That would suit me just fine, in fact, I proposed this idea on another site a couple of months ago. That way Souths would keep their 2014 premiership title but the Roosters would be stripped of their 2013 and 2018 titles and the Sharks would lose their 2016 premiership.

Don’t blame the NRL for your club’s bad deeds

@ Don

“I’d happily see the Tigers side of the merged entity punted”

I wouldn’t. My mother followed the Balmain Tigers for many years as did one of my closest friends growing up and that club has had a rich and proud history and deserved a better fate then they received.

The fact remains that this side of the joint venture is broke and the Western Suburbs Magpies are carrying the dead weight of Balmain on their backs. Perhaps, if the Magpies were looking to go it alone the Balmain side of the West Tigers might put their hand up for relocation to Perth? The NRL and News Corp (aka “FIX Sports”) could assist the Tigers financially with the move to protect their joint vested interest in expanding the national competition to the Australian west coast. The “West Coast Wildcats” does have a ring to it.

NRL hands down massive punishment to Cronulla and Shane Flanagan

The news breaking in Canbetra this morning confirms that Flanagan was trying to recruit Blake Austin to the Sharks during the period of his suspension. Surely no further proof is needed of “Flanno’s” complete contempt for the rules, Greenberg and his pathological disregard for authority.

No disrespect to Sharks fans but your club urgently needs an enema!

Don’t blame the NRL for your club’s bad deeds

You are spot on in at least 3 of your points seantice:

1. Double standards have been a norm for this administration

2. The fine and salary cap punishment for our crime is a large punishment compared to some other teams that have systematically cheated the cap.

3 Greenburg wanting one of these teams to relocate

IMO the NRL is aware that a number of clubs are over the cap in some way or other but they have sat on this waiting for the announcement of their expansion plans and for the two most vulnerable clubs in the competition, financially speaking, to expose themselves for cap breaches. This has given the NRL the opportunity to fine these clubs into oblivion and then offer them a bail out option IF they relocate to Perth or Brisbane.

However, it is more likely that the NRL will try to force a merger of both clubs and relocation to Perth as Brisbane won’t be receptive of a team relocated from Sydney.

If this is in fact the case I would not expect the NRL to lighten the burden by decreasing the fines for both clubs. I truly feel for the Tigers fans who have already been forced into a merger of two proud foundation clubs. But truth be told the Magpies side of the merger has been breathing life financially speaking into a bunkrupt Tigers organisation for years now.

Let’s see how this plays out but the NRL have been waiting for just this opportunity to expand the NRL competition and they CANNOT do this with 9 clubs remaining in Sydney.

Perhaps the other 15 clubs can get together and vote to relocate the Roosters to the west coast of Australia. I have a lovely, idyllic spot picked out for them too surrounded by water, Christmas Island. It’s located in the Indian Ocean, 2600 kms northwest of Perth in Western Australia and 500 km south of Jakarta, Indonesia with regular travellers to it’s shores. LOL

Don’t blame the NRL for your club’s bad deeds

I’ve posted the numbers on here before. Currently, the Roosters don’t have the cap space for a full 30 man squad, They only have 26 players listed on their own website, and in 2019 they have 3 players on $1 mill, 1 on $850K, 2 on $650K and 2 on $500K (and that isn’t accounting for upgrades to Latrell Mitchell and Joseph Manu and half a dozen other players with international rep experience). Also, the minimum NRL salary in 2019 is set to $105K but this is intended for Rookies with NO NRL experience NOT for players who have played international test football and origin (Tupou, JWH, Taukeiaho and Liu) and what club would not sign Victor Radley for 4 times the minimum NRL salary?

I would like to say more but I promised eels47 I would try to change the record in time for Christmas. @ eels47, don’t read the first paragraph mate. Doh! I should have put this first… too late now. LOL

Don’t worry boys. If eels47 gets out of line I’ll smack him down again with one of the Eels’ 14 wooden spoons. They have plenty to spare. Bahahahahahahaha
You didn’t say anything about me not playing with your club’s wooden spoon collection. LOL

“Reg goes a whole article without commenting on the Roosters salary cap?”

I don’t know eels47. You’re asking me to play off a pretty big handicap. I’d feel like Jack Newton playing golf! LOL

More NRL drama with Tigers CEO facing deregistration

For a long time and on multiple online forums I have posted about the NRL’s expansion plans and clandestine scheme to eliminate a number of the 9 remaining Sydney teams to allow expansion to continue?
Well, isn’t it a “coincidence” that since the NRL have now set a deadline for expansion that two of the most vulnerable Sydney based clubs financially speaking have suddenly been found to have breached the salary cap and look to be in trouble financially.
Wouldn’t it be “convenient” for the NRL if two Sydney clubs folded just in time for the planned expansion of one additional team in Brisbane and one in Perth? I mean, what are the odds right?

Don’t blame the NRL for your club’s bad deeds

@ Tom G
“If talk is accurate there is a second and even worse punishment headed to the Sharks… Trent Barrett”
John Morris and Jim Dymock have just been announced as co-coaches of the Sharks for 2019. So talk was not accurate but your tagline was funny! LOL

NRL hands down massive punishment to Cronulla and Shane Flanagan

@ “spruce goose”
I don’t know how you got confused about AE47 being a Sharks fan. The 47 in his profile gives away that he has to either follow the Sea Eagles or the Eels, surely? Btw, he is a Sea Eagles supporter. Too bad you didn’t end your post after your first two sentences. But you didn’t.
As a “Guru” do you think it is fair game to attack or even reference someone’s family on this site? Remember you are setting an example for others to follow and I think we all know how that can end. Why do I always have to be the one to remind you “Guru’s” that if you want to wear the badge then you need to set a higher example to be worthy of that title. Attack me if you want, I can take it. I dish out plenty so I expect to receive some flack but let’s keep family members out of the argument, OK? I won’t be warning you again.
Btw, your reference didn’t even make any sense in the context of your argument or my comment about tribalism. In fact, your last two posts here have been very confused. You might want to try thinking BEFORE you post a comment.

NRL hands down massive punishment to Cronulla and Shane Flanagan

Does anyone know why the “More NRL drama with Tigers CEO facing deregistration” story has suddenly been closed?

NRL hands down massive punishment to Cronulla and Shane Flanagan

So how much of the Bulldogs $500,000 fine did you pay for their 2002 salary cap breach TB? LOL

NRL hands down massive punishment to Cronulla and Shane Flanagan

sayonara (Japanese for goodbye)

Explain to me “spruce goose” just HOW that phrase in reference to Flanagan (as in “so long and don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out) in any way shows a lack of understanding of the concept of abiding by rules, laws etc?

The game would be better without fans who carry a chip on their shoulder and are so eager to attack people over the slightest difference of opinion. What else do you expect from a game that has had tribalism at its roots since it’s birth over 110 years ago?

NRL hands down massive punishment to Cronulla and Shane Flanagan

Now, now eels47 give the other “kiddies” a go. You have already had your turn along with “Ned”. We don’t want others copying your work now do we?
Besides, as a Rabbitohs supporter, I don’t have as much to be livid about as you and the supporters of the other 3 clubs that have been punished by the NRL for salary cap breaches that are relatively inconsequential to what the Roosters have gotten away with in 2013/2014 and 2018/2019.
You and your eels mates should be joining the “Angry Eagle” and Sharks and Tigers supporters with pitch forks and blazing torches crying out “kill the beast!” instead of letting the Roosters walk all over you and singing like Lumière “Be our guest”. LOL
