The player just needs to regather it.
The overlap was the reason for the yellow plus it’s near the 22 line.

If you are the attacking team and a player stops a pass and knocks it on and wasn’t in a position to regather it, it’s effectively a negative play or professional foul. Especially if you have that overlap or close to the try line.

'Game's out of control': Coaches, players, fans and refs are united by their hatred of the dumbest law in rugby

On the attempted intercept. There was a clear overlap that’s why it’s a yellow card.
You have to regather the ball if you attempt a intercept and they know that’s the law. Otherwise you can get a penalty or yellow or penalty try.

This stops professional fouls even if it’s a genuine attempt.

It’s been confirmed that the officials made the wrong call on the Savea issue.

Sledge away, we still respect Ireland and their coaching team.

I just don’t think the evidence is there. The loose forwards are a combination he played well in his role.

I mean he got an All Black to come to his defence that doesn’t happen very often.

How was England last week?

Great article Highlander. I like the technical explanations.
Question do you think in review they will se those errors from Reiko ?
Are they fixable or do they need a change at 13 ?

Thanks

Time to give the All Blacks' coaching team some credit after innovative solutions overcame Ireland

Who do you think executes this best in the AB’s ? Applying the right defensive system at the right time.
Goodhue
ALB
Reiko

And is 12 key in this as well.

ANALYSIS: 'As good a quarter in Foster's reign' powers All Blacks to big win and lets coach breathe easier

Jogger I watched him yesterday. He’s got some speed. It seems that they start with more of a defensive 6 or 7 ( Boks) bring him on against tiring players.

I wonder if he will fix his nose.

Explain more this league like attack? I’m interested.
Thanks

I get it, you sort of need to choose your moments or make a solid tackle. The game has definitely changed since 2015.

Okay. Our defensive strategy before was more of a slide defence using the touch line, but that doesn’t work now right? ( only in some situations)
Do you know if we watch the ball or player in defence ? It’s something Ronan O’Gara brought up. And what does that mean and why is there a difference?
Thanks

You make some interesting points.
Only time will tell.
I like Eddie as a coach.
They do seem to kick a lot especially when they have the attacking ascendancy. Should they move Farrell back to 10 and have Smith as an impact player.
Maybe he’s just willing to try a different strategy like running rugby, learn that then blend it into the Semi final DNA.

Our new defence system is a work on. When they get it right we look good. But when it’s going poorly Ireland were all over us.

Can someone explain our defensive system in more technical detail please ?

Thanks

The don’t understand rugby at all. It’s bash Same Cane and Foster all day long. Sam Cane played a great game.

What would your selection be at 10,12 and 13 with players you have available. And players who are away or injured. Thanks

It did look a bit clunky. I does look like they are trying to play differently.
Lack some confidence. I wouldn’t right them off yet. I have no skin in this fight AB’s supporter.

I get it, he stated it. Best to wait though don’t you think. Get all the facts makes for a better article.

That was funny.

Best to wait for Foster selection interview.

Why wouldn’t you wait for Foster to talk about selections before writing an article only to look …..,

Laulala sore neck. Given another week. I thought you would know this.

Let’s see how they go.

True it is a crazy landscape in rugby today. I feel you need done level of confidence as there is a lot at stake.

I’m confident with Foster, the NZ public put far to much reverence on one person to fix everything.
NZRFU yes I’m happy with the direction we are going especially now we have the Silverlake deal.

You a right the Chairman of RA has to act in their best interest. Please do it with dignity and class.

'NZ have treated us poorly': Why Phil Kearns is backing RA's hard ball, and how rugby 'wins over league every week'

Whether it comes to fruition or not. That doesn’t sound very confident.

If RA want to leave and they have the unions, coaches snd players support then that’s fine.

But do it with class and dignity. Don’t play it out in the media in the same week of a Super final.

I agree it wasn’t work with the South African teams it had run it’s course. But I do miss them.

They have tried but not been consistent in starting a Currie cup comp, they call it NRC.

They need to build that first and keep the Super. And then in time they could go it alone.

One thing to remember the NRL and AFL that’s all they have. It’s been there for a long time, so it’s built it’s tribalism.

I’m not sure the timing is right do they have money and quality player base.

All Black support living in Melbourne.

Are Rugby Australia bluffing?

First you need to stick to it for it to pay off.

Explain what you would do in some detail.

Why Australia needs to stay in Super Rugby

Exactly. Build your NRC comp first.
