The best thing about Green is I no longer have to watch WA crumble to 5-70.

Cameron Green intensifies calls for Test debut with scintillating unbeaten 185

Obviously not going to hurt their chances but nothing is guaranteed Peter. Everyone thought the premierships would pile up with Selwood, Hawkins & Danger in the same team but they’ve yet to win one in 4 or 5 years.
Given how Cameron & Hawkins play they’re both 50/50 chances to be suspended each final’s series anyway.

Jeremy Cameron wants out of the Giants

Must be some good players on not much at the Cats.

Jeremy Cameron wants out of the Giants

Hopefully he’s been old enough to appreciate the joy of a premiership (or multiples).

I didn’t get into AFL until I was 13 when I moved to WA from Tamworth. I got lucky with an early premiership when I was 15. I definitely didn’t appreciate it enough at the time.

Maybe by the time No. 2 is old enough for footy the Bombers will have come good. Then again…..

Six talking points from AFL Rounds 15 and 16

Well, coming from a two-team home, it’s time to have the talk with my son now he’s 4.
I’ll be telling him to support the Eagles over the Bombers as supporting the Bombers leads to a lifetime of perpetual disappointment.
Didn’t see the game but I assume a typical lacklustre effort where Essendon couldn’t get repeat entries and the defenders bent over to tie their shoelaces as the ball was entering the defensive 50.
The only excuse I can think of is 3 games in 11 days compared to a 9 day break for Geelong (the bye didn’t have the same impact for them this year). However, this effort has been trotted out in multiple games now.

Six talking points from AFL Rounds 15 and 16

Dogs should be around 7. If they played Carlton, Melbourne or GWS this weekend I’d expect them to win.

AFL Power Rankings Round 14

The Dogs have mostly beaten garbage teams this year but I’m backing them in tonight.

Western Bulldogs vs Geelong Cats: Friday night forecast

So excited to hopefully see Daniher back on the park tomorrow night. All the best to him.
Also excited by reports he might be keen to stay but not getting my hopes up.

AFL Trades: Key forwards are on the table in 2020

It’s been going so long they are almost ready for the next rebuild Pete!

Carlton win sets new benchmark for Blues

I remember a few years ago Essendon were getting heavily criticised because, whilst they were playing attractive attacking footy and scoring freely, they were so easy to score against.

Carlton's injury list may explain fade outs

It was confirmed that Sydney’s offer was 9 (from Papley) and a 2nd rounder.
I don’t know enough about Flanders to say they are missing out but Serong is a jet.

Stuck in the middle with you: Essendon are in no man's land

Given Sydney only offered Pick 9 (if Papley left) they never would have been in the running for Serong.

I feel like Zaharakis got suspended for a tummy tap a year or two ago.

Tom Lynch could be in hot water with MRO

Could definitely use him at the Bombers.

North Melbourne can rebuild without trading Ben Brown

We did note in our staff meeting today that we should prepare for Coronavirus to arrive here in 10 years.

Cotchin doing it 'tough' since AFL breach

Very interested to see how we play with someone to actually kick to.

Carlton vs Hawthorn and Essendon vs Brisbane: Friday night forecast

Don’t let Carlton fool you. The rebuild is long over now and they should be competing at the pointy end.
They fielded the 2nd oldest and 4th most experienced team on the weekend and all their high-end picks have had multiple years in the system.
If they can’t beat the Hawks and make the finals then it would be a waste of a season in which they should be competing.

Carlton vs Hawthorn and Essendon vs Brisbane: Friday night forecast

Also tipped Melbourne as my roughie of the week. Couldn’t quite manage tipping Adelaide although they are a much better chance than the markets suggest.

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Round 9 and (some of) Round 10

I think Freo are putting together a nice list. Still a little dead-weight but I’m sure Longmuir will sift them out. I struggle to remember an injury list like this and it’s a real shame as I was looking forward to watching them this season.
My Bombers are getting themselves quite the injury list as well now, I was surprised to hear we had the 2nd youngest on-field team over the weekend. I’m guessing Freo was the youngest.

Freo must drink from the fountain of youth in the midst of its injury crisis

Yeah it was an excellent goal in a game that actually had a few highlights.
Langford has all the traits to be a really good player, and he is getting better, but his languid appearance is frustrating for supporters.
I also tipped Adelaide due to Essendon’s record against lowly sides when their season is in the balance.

Six talking points from AFL Round 8

Adelaide’s best game by a mile. Walker could actually catch the ball. But Essendon are no threat with their current forward line. Happy to keep banking wins without a forward line though.
Will be good to get Stringer back and fingers crossed Daniher returns in a month.

Six talking points from AFL Round 8

Essendon’s season on a knife’s edge, playing the winless 18th placed team, I think we all know how this story ends.

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Round 8

The Dogs match up well against the Bombers and usually reduce them to training cones. It’s hard to see the Dogs losing.
The only hope for the Bombers is they are playing a more conservative style this year so the margin might remain close enough to pinch it if luck falls their way.

Essendon vs Western Bulldogs: Friday night forecast

Shiel deserves his two weeks, but so do Ebert and Rohan. I understand the appeal, not because of Shiel’s innocence, but because of the inconsistency of the assessment of the incidents.
I thought at the time it would be 0-2 weeks which shows just how unclear it is.

The MRP's consistent inconsistency is eroding its legitimacy

I think we are 7th for average scores which is fine with a depleted forward line.
We are a run and gun team looking to score. Yes, we sometimes play numbers behind the ball to create the turnover, but every team does bar none.
In fact, our lowest score of 51 came against Carlton because they clogged the centre and played two extras behind the ball and reduced it to a grind. That was the most frustrating of our games to watch because Carlton outplayed us on the counter-attack after clogging up the field to create the turnover and using good footskills the other way.
