In the case of a used ball, it’s quite likely that it’s known whether it swings or not.
Dukes balls have a date stamp and could be identified.

There's an easy solution to 'Ball-change-gate' - and fixing it could also solve Test cricket's biggest problem

Main problem was persistence with ineffective bowling and field placement strategies.
English weren’t place under sufficient pressure when batting
The exception was Lords with the bouncer session. England responded with out and out bodyline.
Australian bats played the short stuff better IMO, and Australia won the test.
Likely the officials warned the captains off this approach because it wasn’t seen again.
Australia bowled into the English batters areas, especially Stokes and Crawley, and allowed easy rotation of the strike.
Everyone knows this, everyone says this, except the team.

Flem's Verdict: Stokes’ spirit of cricket goes out the window over catch while ICC needs to sort out ludicrous ball-swap farce

It just shows how much pressure Stokes was under right then and he snapped.

Australia failed to put enough pressure on Stokes captaincy throughout the series. Easy singles. Bowling into his and Crawleys strengths.

My take on the no get together after the match and subsequent ‘clarification’
At a nightclub you don’t have to address anyone directly. Its loud abd dark and lots of other people there to interact with if you choose. You don’t have to look a bloke in the eye.
It’s a cop out. England were hiding, why?
As for the ball change, we all know the major sponsors of sports these days is gambling. Corruption always hides in plain sight.

10/10 Flem. You got it covered 👍

Yeah, those Walsh and Ambrose guys…
A walk in in park. 🎾

The spirit of cricket was murdered in cold blood by sunburnt thugs - and the game might never recover

I agree, the last thing any team needs is a toxic narcissist.

People like that can always turn on the charm when it suits them, NK does it in the context of Australian representation because he can’t tolerate and deflect ‘anti-patriotic’ criticism.

It still all about him, and all the teammates and the captain know it.

It distracts everyone else and puts people on edge. Bad for the team.

Dear Lleyton: Nick Kyrgios must be selected for Australia's Davis Cup team

To her credit, Danielle Collins congratulated Ash on her win. She also remarked that she wasn’t quite fit and would have won if she was 😂

Party like it’s 1978: 4 MILLION tune in as Ash Barty claims Aus Open glory

Across the 4 breaks if serve in the 2nd set
Ash hit 9 UEs and 8 winners.
Danielle hit 3 UEs an 3 winners
17 shots from Ash went to the score.
6 Shots from Danielle went to the score.
Ash was the playmaker, by a factor of nearly 3 (2.83*).
Danielle sticks her tongue out and pumps her fist when Ash misses a FH winner she makes 8 times out of 10, as though it has anything to do with her.
All DCs break points off UEs
All ABs break points off winners

Labuschagne is consistently good against the new ball.

People say – He’s doing great at 3, don’t change it.

The reality is that he and Smith are practically playing 2 and 3 already.

Keep making the same wrong decision and you will keep getting the same poor outcome.

Khawaja gets nod over Harris for fifth Test, Boland may be out

I totally agree.

Khawaja gets nod over Harris for fifth Test, Boland may be out

Someone posted an analysis here not long ago and it showed his results declining constantly as a series progress.

Accidental click 😁 😂

Bangladesh skipper gives himself a bowl, promptly gets NZ centurion with massive pie

Pierson did appeal, as did the bowler, Xav Bartlett.
There was a clear noise and obvious deviation.
An unbelievably bad decision bY the umpire.

Heat keeper in disbelief that he even had to appeal for this 'obvious' wicket that wasn't awarded

Green’s bowling SR of 38 is pretty good. Last season his batting looked better than the bowling. He’s put the work in and has stepped up the energy level to competitive test standard, good on him
. .. but I’m concerned about his action, and the possibility of a recurring injury – it reminds me of young Cummins, ( saw a small doco on Sunday and had my memory refreshed) it needs fixing.

He still has work and maturity to add to his talent. He seemed quite down after shelling the catch and then put in his loosest over.

I’m glad he has Pat to mentor his bowling, who will be his batting mentor?

DAY 3 REPORT: 'That's why we love sport'! - Boland delivers Ashes with insane figures of 6-7

Yes, Warner and Labuschagne had definitely blunted the bowling.

How valuable were Head's runs?

It was a great knock, no doubt.

I would question whether he faced the best bowlers, to which has has previously been vulnerable.

How valuable were Head's runs?

Absolutely love the way he turns his head to spot the ground and make the landing so clean. Reminiscent of Ponting’s best work. 👍

MUST WATCH: 'Unbelievable!' BBL young gun takes one of the greatest catches ever

Left arm orthodox. Stock ball has good revs and seam angle 45deg to RH slips.
Flight, ball travels up from release and often drifting off to leg.
Deceptive slightly quicker arm ball and toppy.
Pretty sure he’s got a carrom, breaks it away from LH
Consistent landing spot and variations.
Doesn’t lie down.
A lot to like.

Best to avoid the “g” word.

Another factor,

hmmm

The performance of the opponents.

Thanks to Smith.
