Rebels backline key to Wallabies World Cup hopes

Success is the best revenge. Rip into em Quade!

Rebels backline key to Wallabies World Cup hopes

You’ve just nailed it on the head with the playing system Bodger. What is the system? The All Blacks have a system. Then the Super Rugby franchises play those systems. It doesn’t matter what team you play for, you can slot right into the All Blacks and play the same system. What is the Wallabies system? What are each of the Super Rugby’s systems? Consistent playing system, this is probably what centralisation can bring. That said, you wouldn’t want to limit individual brilliance, and each team does need to play with what they have got and play to their strengths.

Hopefully that was a Thorn/Reds thing which carried over in 2018. I can see what Thorn is doing. Basically bringing SOO maroon mentality in the Reds. Full credit too him. If Cheik had Quade on tour in past year, Bernard Foley wouldn’t be burnt out.

You make a lot of sense Akari.
Think you might be right with Naivalu.
Maddocks, another Larkham and training under QC!
You see the way it is done in the US? Fully get this next vid is with a gridiron ball, but still, shows how to get ball away quickly… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9_2UMWQuC0

haha. Not a pom mate. LOOOVE running rugby. But I do think our kicking game is one of the worst on the planet. We strengthen the kicking side AND have running rugby as well, then our chances of success increase.

The author 🙂 probably nailed it. Self intersest.

Australian rugby can turn this corner, but only if it wants to

Agree. White is real deal. If coach change is to happen, he would be at top of the list.

Australian rugby can turn this corner, but only if it wants to

Unless phone call was cancelled and then actually made. Hmmmm.

Australian rugby can turn this corner, but only if it wants to

I would if 51% was a majority instead of 75%. They do a bad job the 51% hold them to account. It is kind of like politics, but in reverse. To hold a spill and oust a pm it took 51% majority. Now it is 66%. Much harder to oust. Same situation with RA but we need to lower threshold.

Australian rugby can turn this corner, but only if it wants to

Correct.

Australian rugby can turn this corner, but only if it wants to

9 votes / 15 votes is 60%. Need 75%. You change the majority, the system is then geared for success.

Australian rugby can turn this corner, but only if it wants to

The single thing that would improve Aussue Rugby the most is changing majority from 75% to 51%.

Australian rugby can turn this corner, but only if it wants to

I’d say more once you take into account the puppet voters. You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours.

Australian rugby can turn this corner, but only if it wants to

Needs to be a like for like resting strategy. Foley and Quade rest when nsw play rebels. Hooper and Pocock rest when nsw play brumbies. And why stop at ozzy derbies. Have all blacks and wallabies world cup year agreement on resting players.

Australian rugby can turn this corner, but only if it wants to

We are going to get beaten at world cup of players dont take a break. Which is a shame, there could be a boil over if we follow nz lead. Need a like for like resting strategy for derbies so no super rugby team disadvantaged. For instance quade and foley rest when playing each other. As would hooper and pocock. Yiu get the picture. Everyone wins.

The Aussie Super Rugby teams should not ruin the 2019 Super Rugby season by resting Wallabies

Thanks RobC, could you elaborate a bit on cultural reasons. Players can still live locally in their cultural areas. They dont have to cross polinate until in wallabies.

As for rara. Only one thing may need to happen. Another roarer mentioned votes should be 75% fron the delegates. If you lower this to +50% thrn we might start getting somewhere. 75% is a very difficult number to pass a motion.

It's time to centralise Australian rugby

Disagree. We have incredible talent. Just needs to be harnessed and above all rested. Game plan from top down should be englands 2003 finals strategy.

We need all the backs to work their butts off in kicking deadly torpedoes so we win the territory game. Focus on producing gun goal kickers. Put opposition ujnder pressure.

Ireland compete with gaelic footy. The English premier league.

It's time to centralise Australian rugby

How does a motion get put forward? Can it come from any of the delegates? Be good to publically see where each delegate stands on centralisation.

It's time to centralise Australian rugby

See my last post. 16 votes. Qld3, nsw3, wa2, vic2, act2, nt1 sa1 tas1 rupa1

It's time to centralise Australian rugby

The Rugby Australia has 16 voting delegates.
– One per super rugby team. 5 i think?
– 8 for all states.
– 1 extra qld and nsw.
– 1 rupa. They are;
3 – Qld
3 – Nsw
2 – Act and southern nsw
2 – Victoria
2- wa
1 – NT
1 – Tas
1 – Sa
1 – rupa

It's time to centralise Australian rugby

Not necessarily. Two stage approach. Qld could just combine with Rugby Aus along with Melbourne and ACT. Move Rugby Aus to Ballymore. Wasnt there talk of that years ago? Then only one domino left to fall.

It's time to centralise Australian rugby

New Rugby Australia headquarters should be at Ballymore anyway. A qld-ra merger makes sense.

It's time to centralise Australian rugby

Plenty of ways to skin a cat. Are QLD supportive?

Aggressive move. Qld, ACT and Melbourne to centralise with ARU, NSW then become isolated. Option always to play hardball. The centralised rugby group hav eup there sleeve option to form a new NSW franchise. Take that coachroaches. Ha.

It's time to centralise Australian rugby

Play conservative in our own half. Look where that got us.

Where to next for the Wallabies?
