Amith admire your words, but keep in mind that for most aussies test cricket is the pinancle, but in saying that I for one would love to have one T20 WC under our belt

Sodhi is ony 22, wow he is a good talent simillar to Zampa and boyce

Australia's litany of errors against Kiwis

Lets be realistic, finch deserves to be in perhaps for one of the allroudners but he would have struggled against NZ spin as spin is not his forte. Khawaja is just a superior player in all formats and i am glad he is opening as he by himself hit more boundaries then all other players combined on friday. And Finch wouldn’t do any better as captain so best to leave smith as captain in all formats. I do admit that Australia miss the steadying hand of Bailey coming in at 4 or 5 but bailey retired on his own terms. NZ made the right horses for courses choices in this ground by omitting Boult and Southee [usually unthinkable]and picking Mc Cleneghan and slow bowlers.

After Agar got hit for 18 runs somehow the allrounders repaired the damage to bowl out NZ for 142 runs. After a splendid start by Khawaja and Watson captain Smith walked in at number 3 only to dance down the wicket and be stumped for 6 runs which proved to be the beginning of the end for Australia while the run out of Khawaja put the icing on the cake. The idea to send Agar before Faulkner the best allrounder in world cricket with only 43 runs needed in 30 balls with 5 wickets in hand proved to be the final nail in the coffin. I am a fan of smith and i do believe he is the right man for the job in this format and we should see us come out very strong for the next few games. I didn’t think khawaja should open but he proved in game 1 he belongs at this level so for me the top 6 is khawja, watson, smith, warner, maxwell, marsh with hazelwood to replace agar for tonight

I can’t think of a better player other then Bradman, we will miss him

Thanks Richie, for just being Richie

The best all-rounder the world has seen, we will miss him

Cricket legend Richie Benaud dies aged 84

Ronan good article and like you i hope the batsman like Khawaja, Burns get good runs going forward. I also rated Hughes and Khawaja as the best of their generations and with Khwaaja now we need to give him at least one full series as he can be a star for us in bothODI and test format. As for the squad I feel sorry for SOK as he is a good bowler but at last we have covered their bases extremely well to cope with different/varying conditions. Pace alone is useless here in U.K. for example, so to have such an impressive depth of not only seamers who can make the ball talk (as opposed to gun-barrel straight stuff) but also decent spinners is fantastic and intimidating

Two 30-somethings in line for Test debuts

Jarjari we have selected the best players available and rewarded those in the Shield for an outstanding season. Only little one is Pattinson not being somewhere in the touring party as when fully fit he is seriously good, although he keeps breaking down. As for Khawaja he was mistreated under Arthur and i am very glad to see him back as he can be a solid test and ODI batsman for us for the next 5 years to compliment Smith and co.

Plenty of head-scratchers in Australia's touring squads

Khawaja deserves his chance as captain of Aus A, he was the leading matador cup scorer by a mile before he got injured, and with Hopes retiring he could take a leadership role there too so well deserved and i hope he comes through as he is a very good batsman. Him and Hughes were always our 2 best batsman and we can’ waste Khawajas talent so get him in now and like Smith give him a proper run not 2 tests in a row, if we can give someone like Cowan 19 tests in a row that Khawaja can at least be given a entire series which he has never got before. I like how they have annouced a squad that will tour both the WI and England as it means they can give guys a decent run. So glad the selectors are paying attention to Shield Cricket. The Marshes and Watson shouldn’t be playing test cricket but haven’t done anything to deserve being dropped in their last tests so we’re stuck with them for a while. Boof and Waugh and Rod are doing a great job espeically boof under whom we have won the ashes back and also he world cup

Australian Test squad announced for Ashes and West Indies tours

I don’t think Clarke can help it, he always wants it to be about himself but i don’t care as long as we win tomorrow, boof will have them ready

Michael Clarke to retire from ODIs after World Cup final

Smih has to be our next ODI capain afer the world cup and test captain once Clarke retires

Steve Smith leads Australia into the World Cup final

Watto won everyone over with this gutsy innings, credit to Waugh and boof for selecting him again

Watson, Maxwell prove themselves in a different World Cup partnership

Its not over till the fat lady sings

Pakistan is not out of this match yet, if they get early wickets we can be in trouble so we need to just consolidate and get over the line.

Just saw goal 3 and i agree with this article, it has to be the worst sequel ever, the first one was very good though

Goal III - The worst sports film of all time?

Yeah reading between the lines what Brettig published it was obvious that Cowan was the third player who caused the issues for the homework saga, we can do without a guy like him in the Aussie team.

Ed Cowan retires from first-class cricket with Tasmania

Fair to say watto is back, well done and great to see Clarke get runs too, we are back in contention now

What does the future hold for Shane Watson?

I am with Geoff, he is spot on with his comments in this article

Another chance Af-gone-istan after Clarke inexplicably hides

Real shame Clarke hid against Afganistan, why carry a batsman not in full fitness when the likes of Bailey, Shaun Marsh or Watto can have that spot. Very dissapointing and i can only hope Clarke retires after the world cup from ODI cricket ot focus on on test cricket

Another chance Af-gone-istan after Clarke inexplicably hides

Boof is doing a fantastic job, we are at top of world cricket in both test and ODI cricket, lets get behind our team

Captain or coach, who's in charge of our cricket team?

Time to move on from Mickey, he ruined the team as we were divided under Arthur, boof has united the team and made us among the world’s best, can Arthur please stop passing comments on. He nearly destoryed us.

Stop taking the Mickey, it's time to move on

This is a good article, Warne needs to stop this blind support for his friend Clarke and support our team and boof who has to be the best coach in world cricket.

A warning to Warne: Stay out of the dressing sheds

Waugh as usual is correct and a great reader of the game. Boof has united our team after Arthur destroyed the unity and thats something only boof could have done
