Hi, I'm a published freelance journalist and writer with an MA in Creative Writing from Northumbria University at Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK. Though I’ve got some success as a fiction writer, and have published around 50 articles in the The Times of India, my passion for football has turned me into a football writer. I have written several football articles for some Indian sports websites. Many of those football articles have been reproduced in Yahoo India web portal and other similar sites. I've pasted a link below that was written after the football World Cup in Brazil: https://in.news.yahoo.com/afterthoughts-2014-world-cup-final-180945152.html As a creative writer I’ve had my short stories published in anthologies in England and India in – 11. Happy Birthday To Me – A Collection of Contemporary Asian Writing anthology (UK) (ISBN: 978-0-9566967-0-0), 12. Five Degrees: The Asian Writer Short Story Prize 2012 anthology (UK) (ISBN: 978-0-9566967-3-1) 13. Celebrating India anthology (ISBN:978-93-5087-114-0) and in the 14. Family Matters anthology in India I've been shortlisted for: 15. The International Student Short Story Competition (England), 16. The Asian Writer Short Story Prize (England) and 17. The Doris Gooderson Short Story Competition (England). My articles have been published in 18. The Times of India (around 50 articles), 19. The Asian Writer (UK) and also have been reproduced in 20. Yahoo India and other web portals. My articles and writings can be accessed by googling my full name. Thank you, Marty. You’re right, on paper Sevilla and Real Madrid were definitely favourites, but the way Liverpool had come from behind to beat Dortmund and brushed aside Villareal in the quarters and semis respectively, and likewise, Atletico Madrid’s back to back victories over two of the strongest teams in this year’s Uefa Champions League – the favourites Barcelona and Bayern, added to that Real’s laboured wins over Wolfsburg and Man City (the Man City tie can go down as one of the worst in UCL history), and not to mention the views of all the experts in the English media and their predictions that Liverpool and Atletico will win it, just made all of us feel that these teams were indeed favourties, though time proved that they were not 🙂

Thank you AZ_RBB…I’m sure August will bring some cheer for us football fans, beginning with the football tournament in the Olympics and then followed by the exciting club seasons kicking off in Europe 🙂
