I don’t believe they could actually drop the COLA legally (i.e. contracts).

Swans chairman slams AFL trade ban

Do we need more proof to chuck in Lynn…?

What has happened to Australia's batsmen?

It it just me or does Tippett need to lead more? In fact, I think the Swans need to copy a bit of West Coast and use the three talls (Tippett, Reid, Franklin) and split them up a bit more and lead or make opportunities. Once again, this comes back to also not moving the ball quick enough so a flood of sorts eventuates.

The Bloods are bleeding: Sydney’s crippling identity crisis

I agree. Like in the article, Swans need to play aerial and win marking contests Tippett can win them, Reid regularly does so, it’s when he turns around that is the issue and Franklin does. A lot of it is a midfield which has been poor in form excusing Hannebery for MOST of the season a backline where Jetta shouldn’t be and I think strategy issue as well as a forward line missing it’s key smalls.
Much of it is poor form but much of it is poor strategy I would have expected better from Longmire.

The Bloods are bleeding: Sydney’s crippling identity crisis

These are all absolutely correct.

Addition to 1e)

Play shall be abandoned if ball is unrecoverable in the circumstance that the neighbour has threatened to call the police if they find one more ball in their yard. Participants must flee with all equipment into the safety of the house.

This applies at all levels.

Also, if the ball is hit onto the road and is recoverable, the batsmen shall be awarded a four to ensure they cannot run a ridiculous number of runs as a result of oncoming traffic.

Backyard cricket laws: The ICC's undisputed rules and regulations

The real big one is Swans v Bulldogs.

Both could win all four games and we are down to percentage. Swans have the opponents that they could beat by more but Bulldogs are more likely to win by more (different playstyles).

Very interesting.
The telling one is in two weeks. If Swans beat Giants then they will be looking good. Same Bulldogs with Eagles. These are the two games that will decide it for me as neither SHOULD lose any of their other games.

Your AFL team's run home (Part 1)

No idea who to tip. I think it would be great for footy if these two can make the Grand Final in the end. This is like a preview…

The stage is set for the biggest Western Derby yet

Bangladesh have been playing quite well too regardless….

35 questions Australian cricket needs to answer now

Australia’s batting has been shambles for awhile. Someone has usually picked up the mess and made it look decent. No one did yesterday and here we are. Voges and S Marsh – gone. Don ‘t bother with them again. Mitch back in.

Clarke probably needs to consider going. To be honest, not sure why he played on after the World cup. Injuries definitely hurting his form. If anyone stays out of the three, it should be Clarke however.
Experimentation with relinquishing the Captaincy and giving it to Smith, leaving Clarke unhampered may be a good move.

What a disaster: There goes the Ashes!

This is a little bit different because it is actually football oriented. Essendon’s strategy is horrible and they have the cattle to implement a range of strategies so, I would blame the coach.

Have the Bombers Hird enough of James?

Tippett needs some time on the park. This year is his first actually playing (most of) the year out. He is actually plying quite well. Last week much much better.
The only issue with Tippett that is glaringly questionable is his ability to lead properly which he did quite well on Saturday.

Does Kurt Tippett deserve to be cut some slack?

Only thing is, that I’m not sure they can easily get rid of Hird without looking a bit embarrassed for havin backed him in the first place.

Have the Bombers Hird enough of James?

Some valid points but I’m not sure we have had players as dominant as Fyfe was at the beginning of the year. I’d say the ONLY way he doesn’t get the brownlow is he gets fined again.

Five reasons why Nat Fyfe will not win the Brownlow

Great win by the Swans, best they have played in weeks, if not all barring round 2.

The video review…oh dear. I was at the game – Swans fans thought it was a goal. I mean, what more convincing do you need if both teams think it’s a goal…? Field umpire needs to stop questioning the goal umpire and let him make a decision.

Don’t try and turn this around. You suggested he should go and help his community and he is. Welfare dependent and downtrodden of any race can go and get scholarships and financial assistance for education…

The Goodes issue: Who can decide what is racist?

Freedom of expression doesn’t protect stupidity. I can’t go around saying I’m going to kill someone without that being a bad thing. You can’t say whatever you want. You can have an opinion but not something which degrades someone.

The Goodes issue: Who can decide what is racist?

Daniel, it is exactly what he has been doing. He is also making a stand against causal racism. Let me show you how he is trying to help fellow Aboriginals take control of their future:

“The GO Foundation exists to provide Indigenous children with scholarships to quality schools, and to meet expenses for students attending these schools.

We believe that education is the single most important factor in Indigenous Australians achieving a brighter future. Education is the cornerstone of a healthy, happy and productive life, and its benefits are immeasurable.

According to the 2006 census only 19% of Indigenous Australians had completed schooling to Year 12 or equivalent, compared with 45% of non-Indigenous Australians.

In partnership with the Australian Indigenous Education Foundation, the GO Foundation identifies students who will benefit from assistance to obtain a quality education.

These scholarships are for local kids who would otherwise not be able to access quality schooling, and we are committed to assisting these kids with their educational needs for the duration of their school education.

Our vision is to provide full scholarships for ten young people in 2015, with a view to significantly increasing this number year upon year.”

Guess what? That’s his own foundation with Michael O’Loughlin. Don’t even dare to think that he isn’t trying to help his community. You’ve probably never heard of the foundation I suppose?

The Goodes issue: Who can decide what is racist?

No Sarcasm…
the use of irony to mock or convey contempt

Sarcasm is specifically using it to critique. Plenty of things can be ironic but not be critical.

Time to make a stand! Why I boo for freedom

Sarcasm my friend. Read Ben’s other articles and you’ll understand the way he writes.

Time to make a stand! Why I boo for freedom

No it’s racist because Adam Goodesa feels it is. People can’t do something and then for themselves decide whether or not it hurts someone.

If you're booing Adam Goodes, examine the reason why

Well said.

If you're booing Adam Goodes, examine the reason why

And I’m sure if she hadn’t been called out on it, it would have continued at the next game.

Why Adam Goodes doesn't deserve to retire to boos

No it’s not just a child. What she said represents a culture of racists that exist. That’s were we need to grow up and admit we have a problem.

Why Adam Goodes doesn't deserve to retire to boos

I have no doubt they get closer if not cross the line more than other teams though. Hodge, Lewis and Mitchell – three of their best. Former and latter especially. Lewis less often but still does it.

Who's hot, cold, and needing work in the AFL

Great article Ryan. Interesting. I still think Adelaide is actually in the box seat. Collingwood would be…scary. For the rest of us. Swan/Pendles/Danger. Oh man…

Mark my words, Adelaide Oval will remain Danger's field
